Only? What were you told you would lose? Everyone will be different, but I think 1 lb a day is great, and maybe even too much too fast. If you lose 1 lb a day for a year (which I was told would be how long it would take to lose the 65 percent of my excess body fat), you will lose 365lbs. 365 pounds!! Your body may just lose every hair on your head from the starvation it thinks it is going through! Maybe talk with your surgical/dietician team. Good luck to you!

Only!! What the heck did you expect? A pound a day is 7 pounds a week, 28 pounds a month! Come on now... Maybe if you want to speed up the process you could cut off your leg or something...

Sorry to be so snarky but I'm honestly wondering if you did any research or talked with your surgeon at all before you had your procedure. If not, please do so. After the first couple of months, your weight loss will slow down to 1-2 pounds per week which is healthy and normal.

A pound a day is amazing!

There's going to be a time where you're going to lose a pound a week. Enjoy this.

Or ounces.......at 14 months out I am striking a noble effort to lose a pound a week.

At nine days out, you haven't even hit the third week stall. Don't get discouraged. It takes time for your body to catch up on the healing part of this process.

Bariatric surgery is a test of your patience and character.

Weight loss surgery is not a miracle. Think about what a body can physically do - realistically. Then you'll have your answer. When is the last time you lost even 2 or 3 pounds a week?

However - feel free to boast. That's an awesome start!

For your information i researched this procedure for 2 years and my surgeon told me the % of weight i could expect to lose over a course of a year and I also saved £10,000 of my own money to have this done i am simply putting out a question out there to see if 1 pound a day is the norm or were others losing the same amount at the beginning of their journey too. No need to get annoyed

It also depends on how much weight you have to lose. I lost 22lb in the first 7 days post op. I am now 5 weeks post op and have lost a total of 52lb in the past 5 weeks.

Enjoy while you can. 1 lb a day is great. I very seldom lost 4 lbs in a weeks time, much less 7 lbs in a week. I didn't weigh for 2 weeks after my surgery. I thought I would never get to where I am, but I did. Losing that fast you will be glad when you have when a stall hits

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
