  1. Don't feel alone. I haven't even made it to my goal yet, and I've gained 20 pounds back. My little granddaughter had 3 heart surgeries in two weeks in January. My coping mechanism used to be eating, and I went right back to a diet of cookies and Little Debbie's . Just this week I'm starting to exercise again, drinking water, water, water! I still have to go hour by hour to keep myself from eating...I don't know what! We're doing a major clean out of the cupboards, freezers and any other spots I might have sugar stashed! I'm an addict. A SUGAR ADDICT!!! I knew it before I had the surgery, and I was scared something like this would happen. Like you, I'm disappointed in myself, but I won't give up. Are you exercising? That seems to help some. I already gave away all of my clothes and I won't go buy more larger clothes. Seasons are changing and I want to buy smaller new clothes, not bigger ones. The scales is just starting to go down, and I have about 70 pounds to lose again instead of the 49 it was in December. We can do this. We really can. Keep me posted on how you're doing, okay?
  2. Yes. Misery loves company sort of thing. I've been doing the 5 day pouch test today, and I've lost 7 pounds so far. How about you? Are you ready to try to lose the weight again?
  3. Right now, I am up nearly 20 pounds from my lowest weight (which wasn't my goal weight). Since Nov. 2015, I've been running from class reunion to Dad's knee replacement surgery, then, Christmas. Before the decorations were put away, my 10 month old granddaughter had a heart Cath procedure , then one emergent open heart surgery, then another open heart surgery a week after that. During all those weeks I had people coming and going at my house because my son and his family live about three hours away. I was glad to have them, and can happily report that my little granddaughter is doing well but is still on oxygen for now. What did that have to do with my diet? Well, food was my comfort, and I just let go of trying to have any self -control over my eating. It's incredibly hard to start over, but I'm going to do the five day sleeve test to get some momentum. Do you know any groups for us weight gainers? I know it happens, I just want to stop it.

Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)

Welcome FUTURESOBRIGHT! I am now retired from Nursing after 34 years. I had my sleeve December 2014. I would be lying if I said it's been a breeze. This past month has been the hardest yet. I have had not cravings or actual hunger, but I feel a need for something where before I would've eaten. Now I realize what it is, I can't say that I can just not eat. I have to really work at self control. I've been in a stall within 5 pounds of 195 for at least a month. I'm trying to step up my exercise times and intensity to see if that helps. I'm down 61 pounds. Yay, ME!!!

    4th of July Challenge

I lost 8 pounds, but not without a recommitment to my eating plan. I'm afraid to eat real food so exist on shakes, protein bars and water. I always gain when I start to eat real food. Where have some of you started with this? I'm almost exactly 7 months post-op. All help appreciated!!?!!

Haven't been here for awhile. Have my 7 month checkup on July 8. I still have 11 pounds to go to make Doc's goal for me. Slow going with little exercise and chronic pain still dogging me. I get my protein and water every day. Somebody give me a kick start, please. I've stalled out at my halfway point!

    Anybody older doing this?

I am 62 and was sleeved 12/14. I had a totally uneventful recovery and have lost 48 pounds. I'm not able to exercise as vigorously as I'd like due to advanced arthritis and chronic pain. I'm just now starting to stand up straight all day and walk without a limp. As I get better I do more. Many plateaus but won't give up. Good luck to you. ( I'm not old yet!)

My husband found this group for me and I'm happy. He's super supportive and proud of me. I was sleeved in El Paso, TX on 12/8/14. I have all the prerecs: type ll diabetes, hypertension, BMI of 52. I have sleep apnea with Cpap and oxygen, back pain and knee pain and PTSD from my last boss who made it her mission to see that I was harassed until I had to take early retirement. I'm on disability now. I am having the ohardest time getting the exercise I need. I need to pull myself together and DO THIS. I have the food and water thing going now with very little problem. 4 weeks and three day post op. I'm looking forward learning from everyone. If I get something good I'll put it out here. Best wishes for us all. We have so much in common.

    Old clothes

I've never been able to wear tall boots in my life. I hope that day will come someday.
