Yeyy you!!! I was going to have surgery with dr alverez on March 10th but then decided to go with Dr clayton frenzel in arlington Texas because I am also from Texas!!! So my surgery is on march 11 2015. (2months 8 days) yeyy I can't wait to get this started. Well good luck and I'll pray for you

I am so sorry that you have to do this alone! When I read your post I looked to see where you live but Texas and Alaska are just too far apart, or I would go with you. I was going to have my surgery in mexico also, but decided to stay here in the state. I wish you all the luck and joy on your journey, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers ...

Yeyy you!! I'm so happy for you. I can't wait till I get my surgery done. My mom got her lapband done 7 yrs ago and has lost 100 lbs so good luck and have a happy healthy new life!!

I would like to thank those of you who understand my position and others just like me. I have the fat genes and have fought my weight forever! Being 5'00 @ 170 is just as bad as being 5'5 @ 235 lbs. fat is fat and it all sucks for every one of us. I no longer want to be sick nore do I want to yo yo diet anymore. I am following in my mothers foot steps, (who at 300lbs had the lapband 7 yrs ago) and I want to take care of this for once and for all before I end up at 300lbs with a whole other list of problems. So thank you for your support,as I support everyone of you in this journey! We are all in this together!

That's right!! If you don't have all of the facts, watch what you say about others " abusing WLS" pleeeeaaassee! Give me a break! You don't know my story, even though I'm only 60 lbs over weight doesn't mean I'm not sick. I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, asthma, joint pain in ankles( from carrying that extra 60 lbs) and plain and simple my 5'00 ft frame just can't handle this extra weight! So mind your own business and know your facts before making a broad spectrum of a statement trying to get a riot started, cause you just might not like it!

Well I am in the same boat as you, I weigh 170 butttt I am only 5' tall so I look about your size so I know how you feel!! I am not super obese but over weight enough to have high blood pressure. Everyone tells me I'm not big enough for the surgery but they don't know what I'm really supposed to look like. I have tried so many times, so many years, to loose weight, So I know how you feel. The route I decided to take was Cash Pay, I know this is not the most favorite way to have the Surgery but cash pay is the best way to go when your on the "smaller size" , that way you have more control. He has done thousands of surgerys including a 13 yr old girl!! Just look him up I think you'll be impressed. I thank you very much for giving your daughter this opportunity to live a healthy, happy, fulfilled teenage life, that so many of us never had the chance to have. I'm in texas. So I would love to be able to wear a pair of shorts that don't have to go to my knees and a cute blingy tank top ( always wanted to wear a tank top) and a cute pair of bling flip flops, with all of the accessories , and look good . Yeyyy!!! I just can't wait

Well hello DSdunne, I'm glad you shared that. I my self am a shorty at 5 feet tall and I weigh 170 lbs. so when I started telling people that I was thinking about the sleeve , they would say " you don't need that ,you're not big enough for that surgery" oh and how that runs over me like cold water! They don't know what it's like to be short and FAT! Nor have they ever seen me at the weight I should be, so who are they to tell us what we need. I'm curious if they will do your surgery if you happen to start your period ?? I guess I should ask doc. But maybe it doesn't matter ?? Who knows. I'm a worry wort

Thank you both, I am going to arlington tx to a dr clayton frenzel. He is very well known in that area and had a good cash pay price for me. He also does the whole process from beginning to end for his patients , like breast , tummy tucks, body lifts. Etc... I think I will need a boob lift later. Lol!! So I look forward to my journey. Thank you all for being so understanding of us "lightweights" I myself am 5' tall and I weigh 170 lbs. Now with that being said, I should weigh 110 at my ideal weight. I am considerd obese! I have high blood pressure due to my weight, I have adult onset asthma, I have sleep apnea, and I am absolutely miserable! So yes I want to stop all of my bad health problems before they get any worse. I will be sleeved on March 11 2015. I can't wait!
