Morning everyone, I was sleeved on March 25, 2015....I am almost 4 months post op....starting weight was 227....current weight is 185....having the gastric sleeve was the best decision I could have made for me....I feel good....I have energy to do things now....I am no longer on any bp medications....this surgery was the best decision ever....and I am thankful for this second chance at living a healthier life....

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you all know if you want to join a support group where you can share your experience, learn some great tips ideas and/or just meet new people. There is a support group on Facebook I just love call "Gastric Sleeve Family." I like this group because it's a secret group....the only people who can see the members or the postings are the members. Being that I haven't share my journey with none of my family or friends yet. Everyone in the group are supported and cares; they are not judgmental at all. If you would like to know more please just ask. Do any of you have Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of PA? If so how long did it take before you got a response for your weight loss surgery?

I have completed all of the requirements including submitting my lab work and medical clearance letter from my pcp. I go for my 6th and last weigh-in on the 21st of this month. I haven't received my surgery date yet either. I was told by my nut last month that I will probably be sleeve around mid-February but; I am hoping it will be before then.

My nutritionist told me last Monday my surgery will probably be mid February. I am so ready to have it now. I go for my 6th weigh in (mandatory 6 months weight loss program) on January 21st; she told me at that time we will discuss my pre-op diet.

I hope so....my doctor put on my clearance letter that I am a 40 years old African America female who suffers from essential hypertension and obesity. I am praying this will be enough.

I went to my doctor yesterday for my follow up appointment. All my lab work came back good, blood pressure was still high as normal 150/90. My doctor completed my medical clearance letter, she has cleared me for gastric sleeve surgery. I am kind of concern about whether my insurance BCBS PPO is going to approve me being that my BMI is 38.6 and I only have one co-mobility (hypertension). Have anyone else been approved by their insurance company with a BMI less than 40 and having only one co-mobility? Please share your thoughts on this with me. I am so nervous now; have I went through all of this for nothing.

I am praying I will be sleeve in February...I go for my 5th weigh in on the 22nd....last one in January....when I go on the 22nd I will have the final paperwork needed; medical clearance and lab results.....I pray I will get approve on the first submission

That sounds like a bunch of bs....appeal, appeal appeal!!!!

I will go for my 4th weight loss consultation on Nov. 17th (2 months remaining).....I am not giving up....I have come this fair....I am going to see it through all the way....my nutritionist keep telling me not to worry about it....she is pretty sure I will be approve....so I hope she know what she is talking about
