  1. I use Bariatric Advantage from Amazon. chocolate is my favorite. Now I'm using GNC Cookies and cream, also

CVS sells individual packets of their brand. I love their strawberry. I had them order me a carton and keep packets with me in the car ( I'm in sales and drive all day.

Also I now use GENEPRO Protien (Amazon) this is for post surgery and is tasteless n can be added to crystal light drinks, oatmeal, anything really to boost Protein content. The GENEPRO Is really great directly after surgery when it is hard to get all the Protein in.

    Good luck!!!

  2. If you are taking Yoga classes that is great!

I just joined a gym on a Groupon for 2 months. When I had the free consult, the trainer said that Yoga is the best thing for now, post surgery for me. I was pretty inactive prior to surgery so starting with Yoga classes was perfect !

He gave some great technical reasons, and said his mom also had the same surgery so he was very familiar with it. He also added stationary bike ( I can't walk well due to pain issues still) and upper body light weight training to help build muscle.

Any movement is better then no movement.

My sister is on a very strict budget, she is on disability and when she had the Lapband, her doctor told her to have Carnation Instant Breakfast with skim milk for her Protein. She did really well with it. Just an idea????

    Hope you are doing well????????

  3. Congratulations!!! 40 pounds is great! I'm less than a week post operative and am having trouble getting all the Protein I should be getting. I'm hoping it's just the swelling.

    Keep up the good work.

it's hard in the beginning to get in all the Protein. There is another thread discussing GENEPRO Protein powder. I just bought some on Amazon n love it. A small amount packs 30 grams of unflavored protein. It can be added to drinks, purées , etc

  4. @HaddockseEyes. Thank you for sharing, it helps to hear such positive feedback. I'm in my second stall at 7 weeks post-op n it has been over 2weeks. I understand the physiology of a stall now, but am frustrated non the less.

What are you doing to loose 2lbs a week consistently ?

Ironically , my 2nd stall began when I joined a gym and started working out regularly . I am tracking everything I eat and drink and hit between 650-800 calories a day and 60-80 grams of Protein.

Any input you have is welcomed????

  5. It sounds like you have put a great plan into action. Go into his office strong and empowered!

Maybe take time to write down all the things you want to ask the doctor that did your sleeve. Even bring a close friend or relative with you if you are comfortable with that. I did that this year when I had a different medical issue and in retrospect I thank god she was there with me! Another set of eyes and ears is never a bad thing!

I wish you the best in this new journey. Keep us posted as to how your appointment goes????????????

  6. Agreed !!! My was suppose to submit the in my last appointment. I was told insurance would take up to 4 weeks to approve. 4 weeks later I had no answers. I called my insurance on my own n found out that the doc office never submitted.

After 2 long calls with my insurance they recommended that we call the doctors together. I did a conference call with the insurance and the docs office and the insurance person requested they fax directly while we were on the phone n then asked them to stay on the phone until they had the paperwork. They confirmed receipt before we hung up!

I said very little n let the insurance person do all the taking so it was coming from them. I had an approval in 4 days after that and surgery 3 1/2 weeks later .

    Good luck!!!

  7. I am soo sorry, how painful!!! And how disappointing.

Thankfully it happened the day before at least , if there is a positive in it all! That kind of pain and issue post surgery would be even worse.

Water intake is critical after surgery too. So make sure you come up with a way to monitor it. I used a small medicine shot glass I got at CVS. It had the different lines of tablespoon n teaspoon. I kept it with me and used it in the very beginning n it still was so hard to my Water in.

    Good luck????????

  8. Measure yourself , even if the scale isn't moving right now , if you are following the Protein specs and exercising u r losing inches . I'm 7 weeks today in in my 2nd stall. This one is 2 weeks and I'm now up 1 lb n started working our just when this stall started !!!

I keep thinking if next summer and how I'm gonna lol compared with this past summer- before surgery . Keeps me going, even though I am frustrated, pissed off, and just overall impatient ????????
