kimmyco got a reaction from lvlpar in Alcoholic beverages
Back to the original thread, eek trying to divert attention, I ONLY drink vodka with Water and a splash of diet cranberry lemonade. I would love to drink a beer. I have tried and simply can't. Well i could if I wanted to make a mad dash to the pot every time. I waited until my 6 month mark before I chose to drink. But that was just my decision. Not my doctors. Like the others stated earlier, the alcohol definitely hits you faster than before. Boy do I know this first hand. Birthday was last Tuesday. Ended up drinking 3 drinks. Thank goodness I have lost 77 pounds. Because helping me walk a straight line would have been way more difficult. Just trust your judgment when you drink.

I told my husband of course, my mother in law, my boss and a handful of friends. That was it. When people ask me how I have lost so much in just a few months I always laugh and say "oh, ya know, just cut some things out." Lol which more true than they realize. I also share with them my clean eating habits and exercise. Which is also the truth.

Oh I remember that day. What an amazing feel it is. Congrats to you. Now the goal to keep pushing forward. The closer I get to goal the harder it is. Nine more pounds to go though. Hopefully you breeze straight to your goal.

kimmyco got a reaction from WL WARRIOR in What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
Two come to mind. First, I am sick to death of people telling me i have gotten too skinny. My whole life I was always max 125 pounds until two years ago after having lung surgery and gaining almost 100 pounds because of the necessary steroids for survival. I'm just now at 145. Still have at least 10 more pounds to go. And second, my "best friend" had the lap band done this month two years ago. I got my sleeve in September of last year. I haven't seen her since April and haven't heard from her since May. But hear the comments she makes behind my back about me having surgery. Makes me sad.

She lost about 75 pounds. But then gained about 15 back over the two years. I have lost 77 so far. Sadly she is the type that likes to be the center of attention. The comments she is making to our other friends about me are things like "I get tired of people always telling her how good she looks". And "it gets old how people turn the conversation to her weight loss journey all the time". But sadly when she began her journey we all did the same thing to her. We were so very proud.

I have hesitated sharing before and after pictures on numerous occasions. But here goes. The first picture was a couple of days before surgery. The second picture was about a month ago and I have lost 10 pounds since then. The last picture is me being brave for the camera putting it all out there two weeks ago. Eek!

Great post! Now here is mine. Mine isn't much of a personal one, but more on the lines of health. In May of 2013 I had to have lung surgery where they were forced to removed half of my right lung. Because of my weight, 222, things had to be done differently than that of someone healthy. I was required to give the hospital a copy of my living will and will, or surgery would not be performed. I had to be put on the bypass machine during surgery because of my weight and the complications that could cause. While in Icu for days, my doctor continued to remind my husband and I that it would be a longer road to recovery for me because of my weight. Embarrassing to keep having to hear it. But he had to say it. He was right. It took me one full year to recover. May 2014, one year after surgery, I decided it's time to do something. Had my sleeve done the end of September 2014 and I am now down 75 pounds. With only 7 more to go until goal. I am healthier now than I have been in so many years.

My hair began to shed at 4 months as well. My surgeon advised me to take 10.000 mcg Biotin tablets, as well as, folic acid. And it helped tremendously. My hair dresser was impressed how much it did help and how quickly it helped. Good luck.
