Band to Sleeve patients lose less?

I didn't think I was eating too many carbs until I started putting everything in My Fitness Pal. I have an egg for breakfast, 1/8 cup of nuts for a snack with a few pieces of beef jerky, packet of tuna for lunch, protein shake for afternoon snack. Dinner is usually what ever the family is having just in a smaller portion. I usually do not to eat any bread, pasta or rice. I was surprised to find out how many foods I thought were high in protein also had quite a few carbs in them. They seem to add up quickly. I try to stay away from sweets, but allow myself a small sweet item in the evening. I feel that my sleeve is too large. I can eat more than I thought I could. I guess I'm use to only eating a few bites with the band and then feeling "stuck".

Band to Sleeve patients lose less?

I had my band to sleeve revision on 8/28/14. I have only lost 22 lbs and have been stalled for the past 6 weeks. I am extremely frustrated. I consume 90-100 grams of protein, 60-80 carbs, and 1200-1300 calories. I have been walking 1-2 miles, several times a week. I am starting to feel like a failure, or that I am not doing something right. Original SW before band was 275. Lost down to 190. I was 220 when I had the revision done. My goal is 150. It is starting to feel like I have gone through this surgery for nothing.

August post op sleevers: Check in

I will cut out the refried beans and see if that makes a difference. The scrambled egg i eat in the morning does not cause any issues. I ate Chic fil a's chicken salad today for lunch and it agreed with me as well. Thanks for the input. Any more suggestions would be appreciated. :-)

August post op sleevers: Check in

I was sleeved on the 27th as well and have only lost 15 lbs. My surgeon said I was on target. I keep comparing myself to others on the forum, but have realized that others may have had more to lose than I do. I am going to just keep going and pray that the scale continues to go down. I was also told at 3 weeks I could add chicken, fish and other soft/pureed foods. I have eaten ground turkey, smashed avocado and refried beans the past 2 nights for dinner, and seem to have some nausea or slight indigestion at bed time. I only eat 2-3 Tbs of each. Anyone else seem to have this issue? It seems like my new tummy does not like solid foods.
  5. I took liquid pain meds for the first 5 days. I was told that I could take a solid pill if it was smaller than an eraser on a pencil. If they are solid then they can be cut with a pill splitter.

August post op sleevers: Check in

I was sleeved on Aug 27th. I am down 10 lbs. I went back to work as a home health Physical Therapist Assistant on day 6. Fortunately, I can make my own schedule and took it easy for a couple of days. My energy was horrible, but I started drinking a nutrition/vitamin drink called Zeal. I had been using is before surgery and loved it. It has made a huge difference in my energy level and keeping my mood up. The post op vitamins I was prescribed by my dr made me nauseated every time I took them. I really enjoy reading everyone's post.

    Post Op Blues?

I must be crazy too! I took a bite of a cheese tortilla, chewed it up and spit it out! I just wanted to chew something and have a normal flavor in my mouth. Food does some strange things to people.

    Post Op Blues?

I was sleeved on the 27th as well. I made spaghetti for my family the other night and licked the spoon. It was devine. I miss chewing. I have tried gum but it is just not the same. My husband told me tonight that he felt guilty for eating or talking about food in front of me. It was so sweet. I long for the puree phase. The thought of drinking another protein shake, or sipping broth makes me want to gag. The worst part is that next week is my birthday and we always have a family birthday dinner. When my mom called today to ask where I wanted to go I told her Smoothie King. She then remembered I could only have liquids. I guess I could have a birthday cake flavored martini. LOL! I am so glad I found this site and know that I am not alone.
