I ended up back in the hospital twice for a total of 3 weeks... Basically I couldn't eat or drink anything after my gastric sleeve without nausea/vomiting. After many tests and ultimately having my gallbladder removed, I finally started to feel much better. Now I'm very happy I had the surgery as I've hit my goal weight in only 7 months! 108 lbs gone and never looking back

I feel for you. I had my sleeve on 8/27/14. Did ok the first few weeks and then started with intense nausea and vomiting so back to hospital. They treated me for dehydration and released me too. Even though I was still sick. A week later I was back in the hospital...ended up having my gallbladder taken out but was still sick. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital that time. Really didn't come to any conclusions but started me on Marinol (synthetic Marijuana pills). They have actually worked wonders for me. I do still have occasional nausea but not like before. I'm slowly taking in more food and water daily. Just thought maybe you could ask your doc about trying the Marinol...hope you feel better soon. Prayers!

Oh yeah and I'm crazy too...was craving something salty so I sucked the juice off of olives and spit them out!! The lengths we will go to! Lol

I was sleeved on Aug 27th also. I totally get where you're coming from. I'm feeling like everything before in my life revolved around food...what am I going to do now?! I'm on full liquids for 2 more weeks (4 weeks postop) then can move on to purees. Lord help me get through this!!

I was sleeved on 8/27 and also ended up with hiatal hernia repair. I'm having A LOT of trouble getting my protein and liquids in...any advice GREATLY appreciated!! Also, haven't had a BM in 5 days which is adding to my misery...HELP!

@alyce...Good luck to you as well!! I've been doing my liquid preop diet since 8/14...Protein shakes and clear liquids. It's not fun but I'm doing way better than I expected! And...I'm down 10 lbs just this past week What time is your surgery Wednesday? ? Mine is at 10...gotta be there at 8. WE GOT THIS!!!!!

I'm so glad to hear from someone in the area!!! Sounds like you are doing great! Who did your surgery? Dr. Watkins is doing mine. How was the pain after? I'm excited but of course a nervous wreck too! I am a nurse with UC Health and live near West Chester. Doing my liquid diet now...day 3...and so far so good! Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Congratulations on such a successful journey

I'm August 27th too!! Good luck to you. Are u doing preop liquid diet yet? I started it Wednesday and so far it's going surprisingly well!! We can do this

Start my liquid diet tomorrow 8/13. Protein shakes, clear broth and SF jello until my surgery on 8/27! Prayers needed...I KNOW this is going to be hard!!!!!

I have a history of blood clots in my right leg d/t a car accident in 2006. I take Coumadin every day and will be bridging with Lovenox injections starting 5 days prior to my gastric sleeve surgery on 8/27. I'm so excited for the surgery but also very hesitant d/t my previous history! Anybody out there who had blood clots previous to having the surgery care to share your experience? I am a nurse and I know all the do's and don'ts but would still love to hear from someone post-op that was in the same situation!! Thank you!!!

I'm also scheduled for August 27th near Cincinnati, OH!! Cannot wait!
