  1. Eight months out it takes about 30 minutes roughly to finish up my shake. I drink the EAS Carb Control shakes, I think they are about 11 fluid ounces, not entirely sure.

    Fear of STRETCHING Sleeve!

I was told by my surgeon that I stretched my sleeve very slightly after he took an upper GI x-ray but I'm not letting it bother me, I'm eight months out and I still feel restriction. I eat very, very little but I do feel I can drink my liquids with little to no restriction. I still drop weight with hardly any problems so I'm not letting the little bug in the back of my head about my "slightly stretched sleeve" bother me. A good portion of any WLS is psychological battles, if you have your head in the right place the weight seems to come off all by itself.

Ok its droping slowly but surly

Congratulations, those are solid numbers. You should be proud! Keep plugging away, you'll get there eventually!

    Gatorade

I stay away from Gatorade because there's still a decent amount of added sugar that if you can live without in your diet you'll easily have better weight loss results. I usually drink Powerade Zero, no calories and no sugar.
  5. I'm eight months out and I feel like I can drink fluids a little faster than I first could. I had an upper GI x-ray and the doctor told me I stretched my sleeve slightly but I'm not worried about it because I still eat like a bird and the weight is still flying off like no tomorrow. I lose roughly 10-18 pounds every four weeks with little to no problems.
  6. I was drinking Powerade Zero on my clear liquid diet. I told my nutritionist and she said it was OK.
  7. I use the EAS Carb Control shakes, you can find them in Walmart for about $5 for a four pack of them.

24 Year old dude getting sleeved on the 29th

I'm 23 years old, I live in the NY area and I had my sleeve surgery done on August 27th alongside my Mom who went for the same procedure. Believe me, the only regret I've had so far was not getting this done sooner. You and I are both going to be changed men.
  9. You don't feel the part of your stomach missing at all nor do you feel the staples. I myself experienced gas pain and at some points mildly severe incision pain but I just popped a single Tylenol split in half and I was good. I tried to stay away from the pain medication (Dilaudid) that I was prescribed by the NP unless it was intolerable pain, which I never had. Once I left the hospital I just stuck to Tylenol and the Compazine medication that was prescribed for nausea. The nausea was honestly probably the worst part for me next to the bit of incision pain I experienced. My advice would be not to freak out no matter how scary you may be making this up to be in your head, trust me, you'll be fine. My Mother and myself went through the same procedure together (same day) and we're both doing fine now having just switched over to the pureed food stage.
