bluedreams86 got a reaction from H.150ToGo in Two years post opp! Happiest I've ever been (before/after pictures)
I wanted to share my story and pictures. For those, that are considering surgery or going through the process, hang in there and just DO it!!!! the benefits are ultimately worth it
    Anyway, here are my stats:
    I'm 5'3 and 30 years old:
    HW: 263 lbs
    SW: 257 lbs
CW: 139-142 lbs fluctuate around this weight
    GW: 130-135
I don't know if anyone wants to read my lenghty experience, but if you do, I posted it on RealSelf under my same user name. Oh yeah and people.com got a wind of my story, and posted it on their page. I really hope whoever is struggling doesn't give up and know that is hope and always light at the end of the tunnel!!!

I did have an arm lift!! I think those that don't need it are extremely blessed.
I won't lie, I felt very conscious about it and didn't feel better until I had those suckers chopped. Lol

    Hello,
I am planning on doing a combined surgery of a breast lift (with implant) and also an arm lift. Has anyone done both surgeries combined?
If so, how long did you take off from work to recover from surgery? Did you need like two weeks or more like three?
If you can share your experience, that would be great.
    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with setting the stage now with your coworkers! After I met with the nutritionist I started talking about that to my friends at work about how I met with her and all the great advice I recieved and how I was going on a high Protein diet and so on...(which is all true!) Then I only took 10 days off because that's all I needed... and just said I was having a "medical procedure." Most people did not press for details but the few that did, I would give them a sad little face and say "ah, stomach stuff." (again true!) I can honestly tell you that not one person wanted to hear more haha! NOONE wants to talk about the vague "stomach stuff!" When I got back to work I just repeated that for the 1st 2 days to folks wondering where I'd been and after that nobody even asks.... that simple. And remember, it's your body, your business, your health, and you really do not owe your coworkers any explanation. You only owe them a job well done at the end of the workday. That's it right?
As for "the easy way out" I think of it like this... it's easier but not easy. We take easier ways all the time right? We no longer bang our clothes on rocks to wash them, walk 5 miles through the woods to work, or write letters in hand dipped ink... why if there is a solution to weight loss and better health is it not okay to use it if it is easier when it is okay to use easier ways for everything else in our lives? I just don't get it. Plus this is still A LOT of work!

    Here's my update....
I'm 6 days post op (surgery was Monday Nov 17). I am doing really great. I was released the next day after surgery. I am meeting my protein/water goals, can tolerate Multivitamins, taste buds have NOT changed (though I was hoping they would) and I can tolerate sweet things-- like my Unjury chocolate splendor shake, but I've never really had a sweet tooth and much prefer the chicken flavor Protein. I have plenty of energy and have been running errands and walking around. I even did a tour at the Pentagon with my mom. My main issue has been the constant gas/burp pain. I really wish I can burp or fart on command, sorry if its too much TMI. Also, my left incision hurts, but what hurts the MOST is two bruises that I have on my lower abdomen (no incisions there just bruises). If I move too quickly, it feels like someone is pulling or tugging and stabbing me at the same time. Though Tylenol seems to work on them.
I had people tell me that the first week is really depressing and you will feel like "what the heck have I done to my body?!!" However, I have not experienced ANY of that. Though the sucky part right now is the liquid diet stage AND the drain. I can't wait to have this thing removed tomorrow. Also, I really wish I could have something solid, a piece of egg or canned salmon. Maybe some yogurt. I envy those people that had no desire for food or Water after surgery.
As far as weight..... I was 216.6 day of surgery, 222 when I got home from the hospital (IV liquids, swollen). And as of today, I was 210.
So far I am so happy that I went through with the surgery and there are no regrets.

Thanks for all the well wishes and also good luck for those having the surgery.
I had my surgery at 11am today and I am finally starting to feel a little better. I was SUPER nauseous after surgery, but then again this always happens to me. They gave me meds for it and the pain is now tolerable. I felt sore but when I first woke up and like my new stomach pouch was on fire, but I feel so much better. It's just soreness and a little bit of naseau. Thank goodness for medication!!
Oh yea, I am sooooooo thirsty and I can't have anything - no Water until tmw. My lips are so dry even with lip balm and I am wetting the inside of my mouth/tongue with a wet hand towel.
It all feel so surreal. I wasn't scared or anxious. Just really happy that I finally did the surgery and I still feel like I dreamed this. I waited so long that it felt it would never happen lol
Tomorrow will another day, tomorrow will go smooth sailing as well
Again good luck to those having surgery and quick recovery for everyone. We are so strong for doing this right before the holidays lol
