I'll add my male perspective on this...
I am not happy about the extra skin. I am doing everything I can to minimize it four months post surgery. (Protein, Water, limit sun, cool showers, exercise to put as much muscle on as I can, and moisturize). I do remind myself the extra skin looks much better than the fat.
Since I date women my own age (51), I can tell you gravity is the universal equalizer. Every woman who has had kids, is going to have things that an airbrushed SI swimsuit model doesn't have. Yes I notice, but I don't care. Confidence is the sexist thing you bring to the bedroom.

Hello ladies! I wanted to see if women who are losing/have lost weight after WLS are now more brave about cutting their hair! I know for me, I always felt like my hair was my curtain. I always hid behind it because I am a natural blonde, and therefore no matter how BIG I was I always felt like atleast I had pretty hair! HA, sad way to think I know. Anyways, I am ALWAYS hearing people say that they could "Never pull off a short hair cut" because their face is not made for short hair. My hair has been short for a few years now, mainly because I have two small children and it's SO much easier...but I also cut it when I was at my heaviest. I now have a short pixie, and I feel liberated!

I'd like to apologize for men everyone, since I am one. But so many of us are evidently complete buttholes. I cannot imagine the situations lot of people on here have been put in by their male spouses. It is disheartening to see how badly many of you have been or are being treated.
If I could apologize for all men I would. All I can say is none of you deserve to be mistreated like that and i truly wish you all well.
I hope it all works out.

Bariatric surgery definitely exposes the hidden dynamics in a relationship. Instead of thinking "I love him, so why does he treat me this way?" start thinking "Why would I love someone who treats me this way?" I am guessing that he resisted you getting surgery in the first place. Go for the revenge factor and get as sexy and sassy as you want to be. You have made the first step in taking control of your health. Don't give any of your power over you life away to him or anyone else.
I threw two ex-husbands to the curb. The first one was my high-school sweet-heart and we were married 23 years. He got a mid-life crisis, and I got to worry about him bringing home other womens' germs to me. His response to my baby weight gain from having kids was that I had become too ugly to live.
My second ex-husband of ten years was totally controlling and began to mistake me for a punching bag. so, see ya - wouldn't wanna be ya, restraining order and all.
After taking two years off from men and relationships, so that I could get to know my own self. I had to learn what kind of music I liked, what my own favorite foods were, what did I want to watch on TV if no one else was barging in and changing the channels, who I was when no one else influenced my decisions. Could I make it on my own. Was being alone better that being with an a**?
I met my gentleman friend of eight years, now. he is a gift from God, and totally supportive of anything I want to do.
What I am saying is that if his response is an indication of how he was feeling about you anyway, then I would suggest keeping a notebook / diary hidden away. Write down his snarky comments so that you can review it later to remind yourself that it is not your imagination and he is hurting your feelings on purpose. My diary was a valuable tool at the divorce hearing. In a Walmart he told me that he was sick and tired of looking at my ugly face. That's when I realized that his private humiliation of me was going public.
If your man is just insecure, he will apologize. But I'll tell you this...my first ex would rather have choked to death than to ever say he was sorry for hurting my feelings. You have a lot to think about. There are good men and women out there who will treat us decently. Life is too short to live with a jerk.

I am sure you were very hurt by what your husband said! That was very rude to say that to you. It sounds like he is a very jealous. disrespectful and abusive person! A real man would not say that to you! Who does he put first in his life? It should be the Lord first and then he would think before he speaks! You should be second and then your kids! It sounds like he is insecure and afraid that you are going to look great and you will see what a jerk he is! All you can do is change yourself! Leave him up to the Lord! Congratulations for taking control of your own life by getting the surgery! Put you and your needs first! You are a very valuable person and you can do what is necessary to succeed in this new endeavor in your life! Many Blessings to you! Love, Gerry Riedel

I too am sorry you had to hear that and I agree with the majority of the comments. I believe that he's mentally preparing himself for you to be skinny and possibly leave him so he's trying to play mind games and belittle you now so you won't leave and you'll be insecure. In all my training a it's a form of abuse to control someone with negative comments.
Stay strong cause all this work we're putting in will eventually build our self confidence so much that nothing will get us down!!!
    Good luck!

So, I unexpectedly bump into my dietician in the supermarket, six months after my final appointment with him.
I was really touched at how pleased he was to see me saying "you look amazing" and "you have done so well".
What did I say in return? "Do you want to look at what's in my shopping basket?"
    WTF???? Lol!

For all who have or are going through a stall - THANK YOU for sharing your stories. I am so frustrated. I was sleeved on 8/25 and have lost a total of 21 lbs since AND I have been stalled going on 3 weeks now. I keep thinking maybe my doc did not cut enough or maybe my stomach has stretched back out or maybe I'm doing something wrong. I guess I thought my weight loss should be greater by now but since reading everyone else who was sleeved around the same time, I guess I'm on track. I'm still frustrated and can't wait for this stall to be over...

I was sleeved on the 28th and I'm feeling frustrated. I've been at a stall since one week post op. Here I am a little over 3 weeks post op and the scale hasn't moved in over two weeks. I know stalls are normal but this just feels so permanent. I eat right. I get my Protein in. I do struggle with Water but it's not too bad. I exercise. What am I going wrong?

I'm in the surgical center now and will be here until the morning. While doing my sleeve today the doctor also repaired a hiatal hernia. That is where most of pain is. Otherwise I feel great. Im so thankful that I was able to take a step in the right direction.

I have that same pain and I was sleeved on the 28th. That is the incision where they remove the excess stomach. My doctor told me he had to put an extra stitch in that area to close it and that a hematoma builds under neath that area and that it will hurt for some time and that it will be swollen for an extended period of time as well. My pain is starting to get better now that I'm 2 weeks out but it still hurts some.

Then that must be what I have as well. That incision is deeper and it pulls something fierce when I move. It feels like I'm being stabbed with a hot poker. If I didn't have this pain I would be doing great. It feels better if I walk around the house a little bit but the first 20 steps or so are excruciating.

What is an indenture in relationship to an incision. I know my incision where they pulled the stomach out is more painful and more swollen than the others. It also has a large hard spot.
