  1. Not long at all. As soon as I got all the pre-op requirements done. My surgery was scheduled a week and a half later. It just depends on Dr. Steinberg's schedule and your schedule, of course. Good luck.
  2. It is the best decision I've ever made in my life. I went from a size 22 and am now a size 14w in one year and I am still losing. I would do lapband vs. gastric bypass because you never use your stomach again with gastric bypass. To me it just seems so unnatural.
  3. I had my surgery April 8, 2008. My experience with the lapband and with Dr. Steinberg has been GREAT all around. Good luck with your choice.
  4. Eat slowly and chew chew chew.
  5. Welcome MamaWalla, Good luck on your weight loss. Walking is the way to do it.
  6. You walk in place, but you don't just stand in one spot.
  7. I have the 2-disc set with 1, 2, and 3 mile walks and I love it. I loved it so much I sent it to my mother and god-mother with weights for a gift.
  8. You are feeling exactly what you should be feeling. It will get better everyday. Hang in there!
  9. dlynnmarie & Jenn1969, You are both feeling what you are suppose to feel. I had those same feelings. Drink what you can and don't worry about it. You will know when you can tolerate more liquid. If you force liquid down, it might come back up or you will have an awful feeling in your stomach. Just do as much as you can and walk, walk, walk. Walking helps heal the body and gets things to flow again. I hope my post is helpful to you both. Best regards, Ms. NeNe
  10. Something similar happened to me. I actually blacked out, but I am well today and happy with my lap band.
  11. I had the same type of issue you had after surgery, except I did not have pneumonia, but I did have to go back to surgery so they could stop the bleeding and they had to give me 2.5 pints of blood. I am doing great now.
  12. Congrats Miss Meliss....You are on you way. I have no regrets. I have lost 20 pounds since April 8th.
  13. miss meliss, I would go back to my doctor's office and ask them to check on it. They usually have a relationship or person of contact with each insurance. They showed me APPROVED in the system before I got a letter and I alerted my doctor's office. The processor in the office called Aetna for an approval code for the surgery. I hope this helps. Ms. NeNe
  14. Thanks for this post. It is really inspiring.
