  1. I just started and it will be six months before surgery but I told my boss because of all the appointments I'll be having. She's supportive and talks about how skinny I'll be lol. Afraid to tell her assistant cuz she's gossip queen. Lol
  2. I'm not real sure what exactly I'm to do he six months before haha. My pcp just rattled off things as she was walking out the door. 1800 cals 3lbs off a month. She said it like it didn't matter much. But I'm going with the packet I was given at my first weight loss appointment. It tells me was I need to drink 2 weeks before what the eat after surgery and how much sugars carbs and proteins I will be needing to eat.
  3. I too recently started and have to do the six month supervised diet. My pcp says to shoot for a goal of 3 lbs a month. And 1800 cal a day. I've been around that the past 4 days which is how long I've been doing this diet. I just look at what's in everything. Nothing above 10g of sugar 30g of carbs and at least 70g of protein a day. I hate the protein powder with a passion. Lol
  4. Can I participate if not had surgery uet
  5. I've not had surgery but on the 6 month diet.
  6. I was told two weeks. I work at a library but I unpack boxes of books so heavy lifting
  7. I'm hoping a week. I'm part time
  8. I want my husband to be able to lift me up too. Sex will be better. Lol
  9. I asked and the lady who scheduled it said they do it with all weight loss patients.
  10. I was just scheduled an ultrasound in my abs. What are they looking for when they do this?
  11. I was just scheduled an ultrasound in my abs. What are they looking for when they do this?
  12. I was wondering if anyone had any good recipes for the 6 month pre op diet.
  13. I'm looking forward to having the energy to play with my baby girl to go hiking with my husband. General outdoor activities. To be able to go into any clothing store and buy clothes. To not having to sew patches over holes I wear into the inner thighs of all my pants.
  14. Excited for you. I started a week ago. Have to go through the 6 month thing.
  15. So do they just want to see your actually going to try and make a change? I was worried.
  16. I was just at my first physicians appointment. They did my blood work and put me on a half assed diet plan and to exercise 3 times a week and to set a goal of 3 lbs. month weight loss. Lets say I do that. My bmi is like 42. Something. My bmi will most likely be below 40 which is the lowest required bmi my insurance requires. Will this knock me out of my surgery?
  17. Question to those doing the 6 months supervised weightloss.... On the very first day do they do blood work and stuff? Im kinda afraid of needles. Just wondering what I need to be expectiing tomarrow... if anyone can tell me that would be awesome.

  19. I work part time at a library opening up boxes of books and dvds and such and putting them in our system. And I'm only part time. So I will probably only take off a week so I don't fall behind and the only thing I would need assistance with would be lifting boxes which won't be a big deal.
  20. Thanks so much for the responses they are so helpful. I asked a friend who has a friend going through this at the same hospital that i'm going to. And she said that I would have a few pounds I could lose in that period of time. I'm assuming from this statement that if I lose more than they want me to then they won't do it... I'm right at the 40 at 40.7... I was when I applied for this atleast... Not sure if I get to much below that if they won't do it. Another question. Lets say I lose like 40 pounds, highly unlikely I know, that won't do the surgery then right? I mean i've lost all that weight lol... Does anyone know what kinda meal and exercise plan they put you on? I don' thave the money to go to the gym.
  21. My insurance requires that I do a 6 month medical weight loss plan first. My first appointment is this monday. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this and if after the 6 months they do the surgery even if there is weight loss? If so then why do they recommend you do the 6 months first?
  22. I live in KY and I have to do that too... I was wondering if they still do the surgery after the 6 months or what. My first appointment with them is monday and I don't wanna ask lol
  23. I hope someone sees this... Im new to this board and just started here from a google search. But I am on wellcare and going to get the process started monday. But with wellcare I have to go through 6 months of medical weight loss first.... I was just wondering if anyone else has gone thru this and if after the 6 months you got to have the surgery?
