    November sleevers in Mexico?

I will be having surgery on November 22 with Dr. Fernando Garcia. Ready for it to be done!
  2. I have tried it. It mixed into oatmeal well, no gritty texture, could not taste anything but the oatmeal. I also mixed into canned soup, again mixed well, no gritty texture.

    Taking the train!

I am having surgery on November 22 with Dr. Garcia! Flying in on the 21st.
  4. You are exactly right! (On a side note, I am going to Tijuana in November.) I think the problem is not the patient, but the insurance companies that make the requirements (instead of the doctors). My impression is that most, if not all, wls patients would say that if insurance were not a factor, they would have gotten the surgery sooner.
  5. Like @@SmashMouth88, I am also going to Dr. Garcia in November.
  6. @, I am going to Dr. Fernando Garcia through Ready4aChange.
  7. Yep, Nov. 22 for me in Mexico. It seems so far away, but I know it will be here soon.
  8. You look wonderful! If you don't mind my asking, what was the cost?

What pain med can i take?

If you are in pain, why not take the pain meds prescribed by your doctor?

    sad :(

You need a new friend. Anyone who says things like that is not your friend. This world is tough enough without "friends" like that.

    Kidney Stones

Speaking as someone who has had multiple kidney stones, the pain from a kidney stone will usually be in either your left or right flank (may radiate to the front) and will be constant (will not come and go) and is excruciating (on a scale of 1-10, will be a 15). That said, there are other myriad of issues that could cause pain to come and go as you describe. Certainly seek medical advice, you should never be in pain if it can be avoided!

Need a new Insurance company HELP!

Keep in mind that most, if not all, insurance companies will require coverage for a minimum of 12 months before covering wls, and even then you will have to pay the deductible + out of pocket up front.

    Yall help!

Sounds like you have edema from standing for long periods of time. Try compression socks (you can find them at any sports-type store). Get the kind that cover your entire calf up to the knee. The compression will help reduce the Fluid build-up. Downside is that you will need to pee more often!
  15. @@SwanRose, thank you for the post. I am scheduled with Dr. Garcia on November 22nd. Being self-pay, I could have scheduled it sooner, but with kids in high school, I planned it for the week-long holiday during Thanksgiving so I would not have to worry about arranging travel to/from football practice, school, etc. It helps to allay my mother's fears (and my own) when I can point to another person's good experience!
