  1. Well Thor, Celebrate the 50 pound weight loss first. Girl, you would not have lost that if you didn't get the band. So congratulations on that!!! I would try to get some Protein shakes in if you can drink. I would track the food, no matter how much or how little by writing it down. Ask your doctor to see the nutritionist after you have tracked your food consumption for a few weeks. Make sure your band isn't too loose or too tight. Even too tight makes you not lose weight. Consult with your doctor on that too. I still go to the surgeons office every month for a little tweaking here and there. Going that often keeps me focused on what I am doing and how I am getting where I want to be. Try walking more too. Sometimes just ramping up your movement just a little bit kicks your body into weight loss mode. Hang in there, it will happen for you and you will wake up on that day and say AHHH..

See you can meet with your nutritionist. She put me on a modified low glycemic food plan to break a plateau and I had a 9 pound weight loss the month after. I tried so many diet drugs in the past, that I am very hesitant to try any of them anymore.
  3. Well it didn't matter what size I was when I was dating, cause I was dating and out there when being a size 26. Now that the weight is coming down, going out and wearing TIGHTER clothes, that actually accentuate my new found shape I have found that I am getting alot more attention now that I am in a size 16. I started getting noticed more for my figure when I hit a size 18.
  4. Ok, so I am crossing my fingers......I have only gone from a DD to a D cup!!! I am 90 pounds down with 40 or so to go..So I am hoping the last 40 comes out of my butt instead. :rolleyes2:
  5. Went to see the doctor yesterday, I still have monthly visits, and I swear now that I have been banded over a year, the monthly visits are better for me. I am now 90 pounds down from my surgery weight....:rolleyes2: What was more exciting for me, is that the doctors office set a goal for me that is now within reach, at least 30 more pounds to lose, but no more than 50. I am wearing a size 16 pants, and XL tops. My boobs are pretty much the same size as always, I went from a DD to a D. So I am really happy about that~ But it is such a great feeling to be thisclose to a goal, that 15 months ago I really didn't think I would meet....
  6. I always wore heels, even at my highest weight, just not all day. Now, can wear them right out of my house, on the subway and right through coming home at night. That was one of the biggest surprises I found with the weight loss. I am 5'8" and regularly wear 3" boots and shoes now and it feels wonderful.. I don't care if I tower over people either, cause as my legs are getting into shape the heels are giving me a nice look.
  7. Its been funny. One month I lose a big amount, then the next month nothing, so I think this month is going to be nothing. I am not stressing over the weight loss, or lack of it, since I am not gaining. I figure as long as its not a gain, its not worth worrying about. It may be a crummy attitude, but its working for me.
  8. I had surgery New Years Eve 2008, so I am 15 months out of surgery. I plateaued for 3 months, beginning in October 2008 at 71 pounds lost, then lost 14 in January 2009, now plateauing again. In December, I met with the nutritionist and she suggested a low glycemic meal plan. I implemented that, and made sure I was eating solid foods and not Soups, shakes, Snacks etc. I am not worrying about the plateau either. I think the more you worry about it, the longer it lasts.
  9. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!
  10. I plateaued for 3 months. The doc put me on a low glycemic food plan and I broke the plateau.
  11. I am at a loose size 18 and tight size 16 and crossed my legs with no problems at size 20, but just last night, had an exit row on a plane and crossed them just fine!!
  12. I have been really busy with work, and then took a much needed vacation. I am down now 85 pounds, and getting into a size 16. I have started weight training, in addition to my walking and pilates. I see that I will probably have to do a lower body lift, especially with my legs if nothing else. The pilates have tightened up my midsection incredibly well. My arms, well, I think I will have to live with them because all the research on that surgery is not too positive. My primary care doc says lose another 75, my surgeon says no more than 50 more. Me? I will be happy to lose the next 15 to get to 100 pounds down, and then see what happens.
  13. I reuse any container from food that can be used for storage. I even bring food to work in them and reheat on a paper plate in the microwave. That way, I am not buying plastic storage ware.
  14. Amy, thanks!!! I am going to Montana in June. Flying into Billings and then driving to Roundup. So maybe we can meet up if you are anywhere near there!
  15. Heather, Benson and KC, fabulous job ladies, as long as we are losing, or plateaued and not gaining, its great for us.  Benson, almost at goal, I would be a wreck!
  16. Its going to get better, and then you won't even remember the pain, believe me, I had complications and lots of pain after the surgery. I took the pain pills religiously and the gasX strips and to be honest, played the sick person to the hilt. I was at my parents and it was nice having them around. Try walking around the house, it helps the gas, and don't be embarrassed if you burp or fart, thats the only way its going to get out.
  17. Finally all the old clothes are gone. 15 bags to the Salvation Army. I hope everyone here that is left is honest. I sent a box to someone from here, who never reimbursed the shipping as promised. I did a trace of the package and she did in fact pick up the box and there is nothing I can do. So, I am out the $40 to ship. I would be happy to pass the name along to the moderators, as this individual ignores my PM's too. What a cheap creep lurking here......
  18. Thanks!! WooHoo, down 73 pounds in one year. I am happy!! Who gives a damn about the plateau I am in? I lost the 6 pounds of Water and back to square one, but hell I lost 73 pounds in a year. Without the band, that would have never happened. First photo 12-20-07 Christmas Party, Second photo 12-12-08 Christmas Party. Now I can see the difference!!!!
  19. Maybe it depends on your overall work atmosphere. I work in a corporate environment, and I have had comments more from the men than the women. Funny though, from the men, its more like "how much have you lost anyway" or "wow, didn't realize how much you lost because you were always wearing baggy clothes". I am finally wearing my new size since I am down 4 sizes. Or the standard "you look nice today". I never used to get that from the men here before. From the women, its more often always about the clothes.
  20. Wow Diane, how completely frustrating. The only thing I can give you is support, so just hang in there. Maybe you can complain to your insurance company and see what happens. I got 1.5cc's in on Monday, bringing me to 6.5cc's. Still not where I was before the complete unfill, but will be back up at my next visit. I had an allergic reaction to the drugs from the colonoscopy, broke out in rashes everywhere, and my primary care doctor put me on prednisolone. What he didn't tell me was that this drug causes you to gain weight. I started the drug, and two days later had the fill and gained 6 pounds. In 2 days. I was stunned. My fill doc said that once I am off the drugs the weight will come off in a few days. They weren't concerned with the gain, but hell, it bummed me out because some of my clothes were tight. Christmas Eve I didn't eat alot, and couldn't eat anything Christmas Day. Some relatiives there hadn't seen me since last Christmas and were aware of my weight loss, but hadn't seen me. Their reactions were stunning to me. Seems everyone brought old pictures of me to compare and it was wild seeing the old "fat" me. I go for my annual esophogram on January 16th. Never had a fluoro, so are they the same? Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas!
  21. Thanks, I hate posing I look like a deer in the headlights sometimes. The doc wants me to increase my activity because I am eating the right foods and the right quantities. It was warm here in NYC yesterday, so went walking, today overcast, rain/snow mix, so don't want to walk, but will anyway.........:blushing:
  22. Well here it is December, our one year bandiversary is fast approaching. I had a colonoscopy last week, everything is good, but had a complete unfill. I wasn't feeling hungry so I was happy about that. Since I was unfilled for a few days I was worried. I got back 4cc's and go for the balance on Dec 22. I am still stuck at 73 pounds down, but I am ok with that. When I look at my pictures now, and see the weight off, I am happy. Never in a million years did I ever anticipate losing 73 pounds in 11 months. I am attaching a photo from this past Friday when we were leaving for the office Holiday party. Christmas Party 12-12-08.bmp
  23. Nice Photo, looking good!
  24. SJK, hang in there. We are here for you, come back and update us on your recovery, and chat with us if you need to!
  25. Here in NYC the restaurants have to post calorie content in the food they sell, but no other stats. Some places are listing the fat content though. But boy was I shocked to see what the calories in the appetizers in TGI Friday's were and the Snacks at Starbucks. WOW.
