I try to switch up my workouts and my workout times. I am somewhat limited to what I can do because of my knees, but I once a week I take Water aerobics in the evenings, 4 days a week I go in the morning. Since my gym is a chain I go to different gyms to get different instructors/styles. Once a month I do a 90 minute African Dance class, 3 afternoons a week I do a kettle ball work out at home. I also just took my bike in for service. I plan to bike ride as the weather gets nicer.
I'm trying to do a variety of exercises at differnt times of the day. I am told this confuses the muscles so they don't get used to the same thing every day at the same time.

I have worked out for years --not because I wanted to but because I couldnt move otherwise (arthritis). Turns out I was just shy of getting the full benefit of an "all the way" workout -- now I finally know what the high is about. Love it! Does that mean I want to do it next time? You'd think, but I have to fake it frequently. I pretend I'm all thrilled to do it and that leverages into a good exercise session.

I agree with both of you but I guess mainly I felt that way because normally on Sundays I do a weight lifting class and had to skip it due to time issues so I felt somewhat empty. Lol

Yesterday I started 5k training which was
    10 minute walk
1 min run2 min walk done 4 times
Ending with a 10 min walk.
32 minutes. Then I did some squats and some lunges and some triceps and biceps workout.
But all day I felt like I did absolutely nothing.
Do you ever feel that way?
Also I'm at a month and a half stall so I'm feeling very discouraged lately.

Maybe it's me but I'm having issues with fruits. Oranges I can't eat or my stomach kills me! I literally just ate an apple and bam I went straight to the bathroom. Bananas fill me up for a long time but leave me feeling uncomfortable also. Grapes taste weird to me now and Pre op they were my all time go to fruit.
    Anyone else?!

My dietician has me have a small snack an hour before bedtime, a combination of Protein and 'good' carbs. I(I go with almond butter on a banana, an apple, or whole wheat toast). I've been doing this for years actually, it's standard for people who have Type 2 diabetes, which I have (although with my weight loss I no longer need medication or even a diabetic diet). If you keep it limited, keep it nutritionally balanced, and keep it healthy, it might help your hunger without derailing your progress.

I agree with eating every few hours, otherwise I'd be in trouble. I start my day off with a Protein shake. Then a couple of hours later cottage cheese mixed with walnuts and a few berries (or just use cinnamon). Then for lunch turkey cheese roll up. If I'm still hungry, I have bell peppers with ranch dressing (I use ranch powder and mix with greek yogurt and add unflavored Protein Powder to it) or a tiny guava after the Protein. Everything starts with protein and then veggies....I barely have fruit. I've just started to have apples with PB2 and a dash of cinnamon if I want something sweet.
Also, what others have said....if I'm hungry, usually have some Water.
Hope that gives you some ideas

When I complained about being hungry, my doc told me that hunger is often thirst in disguise. So I increased my Fluid intake and it really helped! Now I drink 120+ ounces of Fluid per day, and it keeps my sleeve pretty satisfied.

Hey Aribay! I was worried of always being hungry after the surgery so I did a ton of recipe hunting to prepare myself. I'm currently still on mushies but I do feel hunger through out the day. Here are some ideas I've found to help and keep me satisfied:
Grilled chicken (or even chicken teriyaki) with raw baby Spinach Chicken Sausage (found @ Sam's club) and Eggplant Italian Bake (use lowfat cheeses and you won't even miss the pasta!) Prepared tuna on Saltines (can only have 5 and I'm stuffed!) Chicken salad with celery onions and a little mayo Tuna Patties pan cooked with a little chipotle mayo Scrambled egg whites with cheese and 2 turkey or chicken sausage links (Applegate makes some really good ones) Roasted cauliflower tossed in hot sauce (kinda like buffalo wings and barely any calories) lettuce wraps (like a sandwich but no bread) In times of weakness....try making a mini pizza with a soft tortilla, higher in carbs but it'll give you your fix Here's a link that will hopefully help some of the carb cravings http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2013/09/25-of-the-best-cauliflower-recipes-on-pinterest.html

I have the same problem. Can eat very little fruit, mostly berries. I am almost 2 years out and I just started adding vegetables and salad back to my diet (but very small amounts)

It's hard for me to believe I thought I was fine at 260lbs. I would trick myself to accept that I was a big girl and that I just needed to love myself. That only worked for about an hour. I was so unhappy now although I lost almost 60lbs I feel happier but my mind still plays tricks on me. I also look back at pictures and just sit in shock! I was watching a family friend who is really heavy eat the other day and just thought wow that looks really ugly(over eating) I hope nobody thinks I'm fat shaming I'm just saying when it's you, you never think of it looking bad but when you see it your just shocked.

I had been lying an making excuses to myself (denial) for over 15 or so yrs..I had to get control BACK an I knew I needed professional help. carbs or sugar is all I craved bc they are feel good on what it does to the brain. this was way stronger for me to do on my own. I used food for every emotion under the sun! so I was always eating the bad stuff. I had to get to the bottom of WHY I was craving foods. it was a visious cycle. thats where I turned for help. I was at least 10 yrs I also finally found a endo who ran the appropriate BW that I wanted done an finally found out I was insulin resistant, thyroid disease (hashis) an I asked to be put on armour an she did bc if she hadnt I was going else where who would. she did. then I cleaned out the pantry! all modern grains, anything with surculose, high fructose corn Syrup, malitol, splenda aspertame was the worst, everything got tossed out an is not aloud in the house. all these chemicals were making me crave more an more...but I had to make my mind up an take control back an it has been the direction of 2 of my specialists sending me to have the sleeve my stomach hormones were crazy...with all of the above put in action I am a happier person, an so far so good with switching cheap foods pumped full of processed chemicals an replaced with whole organic foods I dont each much fruit grapes I stick to an pears but with all combined doing much much better . I'll be 8 months PO the end of the wk an 100 pds down I eat a little all day an it has worked for me. but processed white sugar an these artificial sweetners were either calming me an then when I crashed Id have to have more. therapy was the best thing an bc I had been for so long all this other changes it all fell into place ....I am not a slave to food anymore. (the withdrawls were bad not going to lie)..but ya got to go thru to stop it...

I'm working on my body issues with a therapist. I have day's where I still see myself as big. I am also saying ten more pounds. I think it's me that has to be comfortable with my body and not with a number on the scale.

I was also a sugar addict. I'm honestly still battling it everyday.
I also feel like sugar was my drug. food in general but my sweet tooth was the main reason I think I was getting bigger.
I'm thinking about therapy but (maybe I'm in denial) I don't think I'm struggling too bad. And the brain just needs to be retrained.

    1. I've learned it's what you do day after day that makes the difference in weight loss. One bad choice won't ruin it for you, but a bad day or two can quickly result in undoing a lot of hard work.
    2. I have to eat a lot less than I would have ever suspected in order to lose and maintain.
    3. Even after 2 years, my new "lifestyle" isn't easy or something I do automatically.
    4. The restriction and loss of hunger you get initially are not as strong further out.
    5. You do adjust to eating less, and soon smaller portions feel more normal.
    6. It gets harder over time.
    7. Even though losing and maintaining is hard, being fat is harder. It's worth every bit of effort required.

I learned that what I see in the mirror does not resemble reality. When I weighed 250+ pounds, I didn't think I looked that fat. Now, I can't see the weight loss and keep thinking that I'll look better in 10 more pounds, 10 more pounds, 10 more pounds.
I've also realized that I have some disordered eating habits and it seems like the surgery shined a big spotlight on these issues. It's amazing that I never saw these issues before surgery. I'm working on them but it's a process.
