  1. This is wonderful information. I just have a hard time with this quote. How do they know that everyone will regain ALL the weight. I can see most will, and some will regain some. But to say everyone will regain ALL. I'd like to see the studies done on this.
  2. Wholey smokes girl, you were sick and still managed to exercise 3 times a week. BRAVO !!!!

  5. Good Morning, It was depressing with LBT down yesterday, I kept thinking gosh I hope its not my pc. I did all my cleaning yesterday, of course when you clean you make things worse b/4 they get better. I even dusted off my dreadmill. Pat, I have an eliptical to keep my dreadmill company Our yoga ball is outside frozen in the snow HAAAA!!! no lie. Had the thing out there for 2 years, and it stands all kinds of weather. Hardy little sucker isn't it. Betty Boop! hope your back feels better. I'm the queen of back pain and boy when you throw it out you are just miserable for a loooong time. I had 4 pinched nerves in my back years ago. Chiro helped but then I developed deterorating disc disease, arthritis and bone spirs (that jingle jangle jingle) in my spine. Feel better .. hugs. Dianne, you passed right thru my town... You should have stuck your head out the window and yelled LOL. Glad your home. Sherry, I would like to get a stationary bike, but like you said the seats are tiny, and your ass goes numb....do they think only skinny butts are supposed to exercise....what is with that??? so until they make a bike thats got a lazy boy attached to it, I'm not getting one Cindy have a wonderful day at work/school today. Anne, I didn't get on the mill either, I cleaned all day, until 7:30 pm last night, so cleaning had better count for something lol. Its okay that kids eat dirty snow, just as long as its not yellow Speaking of snow, its snowing now I have a 12 noon appt at the local daycare for my daughter to join in June. They have kindergarten full day with before and after school care right on the premisses (sp?) there where as my town only offers it 1/2 a day then they ship the kids down the highway to a local YMCA.. My ass she'll be getting on a bus going down the highway w/a stranger. So we are hoping there will be room for her in the fall at this daycare. Now its icy out and I might cancel it to tomorrow... gotta see. Where's Beanie ? where ya hinding girl? we miss you. Ira.... whats up dude? whatcha been up to. I get to see doc B friday for a fill.   9. Its time for us to get up and move. Exercise is so important (even if I don't like to admit it). Exercise and Depression What are the Benefits of Exercise? Regular exercise has been proven to: Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression Boost self-esteem Improve sleep Exercise also has these health benefits: Strengthens the heart Makes the body better able to use oxygen Builds energy levels Lowers blood pressure Improves muscle tone and strength Strengthens and builds bones Helps reduce body fat Makes you look fit and healthy Exercise and Depression: What's the Link? Research has shown that exercise is an effective, but often underused, treatment for mild to moderate depression. What Types of Exercise Treat Depression? It appears that any form of exercise can help depression. Do I Need to See My Healthcare Provider Before Starting an Exercise Program? Most people can begin an exercise program without checking with their healthcare providers. However, people with a medical condition (such as diabetes or heart disease) and people who have not exercised much should check with their healthcare provider before starting any exercise program. How Can I Begin Planning My Exercise Routine? Here are some questions you can think about before choosing a routine: What physical activities do I enjoy? (this is me !!! I need to enjoy it). Do I prefer group or individual activities? What programs best fit my schedule? Do I have physical conditions that limit my choice of exercise? What goals do I have in mind? (For example, weight loss, strengthening muscles, or improving flexibility or mood enhancement) How Often Should I Exercise? To get the most benefit, you should exercise at least 20 to 30 minutes, three times a week. Current studies suggest that four or five times a week is best. If you are a beginner, exercise for 20 minutes and build up to 30 minutes. How Do I Get Started? When starting out, you should plan a routine that is easy to follow and maintain. As the program becomes more routine, you can vary your exercise times and activities. Choose an activity you enjoy. Exercising should be fun, not a chore. Schedule regular exercise into your daily routine. Add a variety of exercises so that you don't get bored. Look into scheduled exercise classes at your local community center. Exercise does not have to put a strain on your wallet. Avoid buying expensive equipment or health club memberships unless you are certain you will use them regularly. Stick with it. If you exercise regularly, it will soon become part of your lifestyle. What Should I Do If I Feel Pain During Exercise? Never ignore pain. If you experience pain, rest. You may cause stress and damage to your joints and muscles if you continue exercising. If you still feel pain two hours after exercising, you have done too much and need to decrease your activity level. Some mild soreness after exercise is normal. If pain persists or is severe, or you suspect you have injured yourself, contact your doctor right away. http://www.webmd.com/content/article/45/1663_51226.htm?lastselectedguid={5FE84E90-BC77-4056-A91C-9531713CA348}
  10. Good Morning This is a great place to be. I'm so glad you all feel comfortable in sharing your hearts here. Cindy, don't ever give up dreaming or put them on the back burner. Dreams do come true but we must work at them. Keep them infront of you and keep reaching. They will come true. Your retiring after 29 years... That is WONDERFUL !!! Congratulations, boy am I envious. I would love to retire, stay home and take care of my little girl, but as far as I can see I'll be working until I'm 67 or is that 72 according to social security...uhhh. I can't look at that now, just gotta keep focus on today. A size 16 / 14 is my dream goal, although I can wear a 16 at 190 lbs all the way down to 150 lbs :confused: my tummy has to much skin and it never shrinks. But a 16 is a realistic happy goal for me too. Lets do it this year partner Sherry, my gosh, I'm so sorry for the way your MIL treated your DH. I hear so many stories just like this one where the Mothers ignore their own children (but not all of them, they seem to pick and choose). I can never understand it. I'm glad you got it off your chest here. What are friends for but to listen when some ones heart is breaking. Hugs to you. Good luck on Wednesday, let us know how you make out. Jan, wooweee on the weight loss. I'm so glad your feeling good to boot. The best part was reading your off your meds... how freakin cool is that!!! I'm very happy for you. Today I officially start my "In Search Of Good Health 2006" I threw out my chips, dip, carrot cake and Cookies last night.... only after I stuffed my face with them uuuuh. Time to eat healthy and exercise. Today I plan on taking down my christmas decorations and getting on the dreadmill (i know I know, treadmill). Filling up on veggies first and then Protein since I have no restriction. Once I get my fill I will do protein first. I'm so afraid to get on the scale so I'll wait until I see the doc on friday. Whats everyone got planned for today?

I love that santa, how cute he is with his little whip :confused: Cindy, all my clothes still fit me. I was stretching them out, now I'm fitting in them comfortably. Good for you for getting the old out and getting new stuff... bet it makes you feel pretty and new. The way every woman should feel. Have fun cleaning what are Mom's for right. John, I think its awsome that you are journaling your food. My gosh, you've done such a marvelous job. I see your struggling with the last few pounds but can I ask you something ????? Could the pounds be from excess skin and not necessarily fat? What ever you do, don't get discouraged like I did when I lost 150 lbs. The last 10 lbs I though was fat was actually lose skin... I got so frustrated that I started gaining b/c I felt it was a loosing battle. Ask your doctor what he/she thinks. Hugs to you my man Betty you always have the best parties to go to. Glad you had fun. 82 degrees OH MY !!!! Its rainy, cold, clamy and cold and cold and cold here LOLOL !!!! snow tuesday too...ick. Can I come visit ?
