    African American vsgers!

Hello everyone, I haven't posted anything in a very long time. I was sleeved on September 29, 2014. At the time I was 285, so far I have lost 68 pounds. My body must have reached a plateau, I haven't lost anymore weight. I have tried walking but due to having feet issues I am not able to walk very long. After s few minutes, they start to hurt. Currently I am in a cast for the next 5 weeks due to a stress fracture in my right foot. I do try to drink Water but some days it's not easy. At my job I am on the phone constantly. Other than that I feel good since I have lost weight, I am so glad I made the decision to have the surgery. I am happy with size I am currently. I haven't been this size in 28 years, that was before I gave birth to my third child. I will be 56 this year and enjoying my life, in spite of the cast, lol. Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal

    African American vsgers!

My surgery date is September 29...two more weeks!!! Yea!! At the beginning of this year I had some goals in mind of what I wanted to do. One was to finish school and get my degree, I finish taking my final exam today in my last class. I am scheduled to graduate on October 25 but since that will be three weeks post-op I don't think that would be a good idea. I go to school online, I live in Wilmington, NC and the graduation will be held in Norfolk, Virginia. That would be too far to drive three weeks after surgery. The second thing I .was to lose some weight before the end of the year, I have lost seven so far before surgery hoping to lose much more after surgery. And the third thing was to visit my grandchildren more, we are expecting a third grandchild in November. My husband and I are hoping to visit her when she is born, that will be a 10 hour drive. Glad everyone who has had surgery already are doing so well and good luck and blessings to those who have not had surgery yet.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"

The final straw that broke the camels back was being tired of clothes not fitting correctly, not being able to bend over to paint my toe nails or even touch my toes. Not being able to climb stairs without gasping for breath. I want to be healthy and fit!! I had noticed co-workers who was losing a lot of weight and I decided to ask them what they did. All of them had the gastric bypass, one of them recommended the gastric sleeve. I did research on the sleeve and found the difference between the sleeve and bypass was very surprising. I had visited my doctor originally two years ago. After doing extensive research I had decided on the gastric sleeve. I have already been to the nutrition classes, had another doctors visit about three weeks ago. I got a call from my doctors office to schedule my surgery, the date is September 29. Looking forward to that day as well as looking forward to my graduation in October of this year.
