    October Sleevers - Men's Room

I was sleeved on 07 Oct. 34 days post-op, and including 2 weeks pre-op liquid diet, I am 52 lbs lost with about 7" lost in the waist.

  3. Today is day 4 post-op, and while I am feeling pretty good as far as pain (or actually soreness) goes...I have really been lazy today and tired. I am getting my Protein and Water in with no trouble, and even had some decaf this morning. I'm about to have some cream of chicken Soup in a little bit...so I think life is pretty good right now. I have noticed already that I have not needed any diabetes medication (as it has been perfect since the day of surgery), and my blood pressure (top number) is a little high still, so I continue the HBP med. Other than the occasional gas pain in my left shoulder, I'm doing pretty good, I think, and learning all over again what my stomach is trying to tell me. Being down at least 21lbs since the 2 week pre-op diet has been a bonus too! I think my emotions are a little screwed up though. The thought of having to give up some of my favorite foods have hit me hard the last day or two. Oh, how I love Texas BBQ, enchiladas, tamales, and fried catfish! I can do without the fried foods and sodas pretty easily, I think. My love affair with Mexican food ending makes me sad though...

    October 2014

Dana, I'm EXCITED! I'm on day 2 of liquid pre-op and lost 7lbs so far. I am starting to feel the effects already of no sugar, caffeine, carbs...but like you said...ONLY 12 MORE DAYS!
  7. Well, I am sure things will go well for you. I look forward to hearing about your success!
  8. Howdy from Texas! 45 year old male here who has been battling obesity for several years. The straw that broke the camels back was realizing that bad ankles, knees and hips along with diabetes and high blood pressure are going to kill me. I got tired in looking in the mirror and seeing that reflection of what I had become through laziness, bad self esteem, and poor choices. I decided it was time to get serious...and get serious now! So, now I have started my 2 week pre-op liquid diet, and I am scheduled for surgery two weeks from today. I know it's a long road to achieve my goal, but I am beyond ready. I'm not nervous, which concerns me a little, but I am very anxious to get this procedure done and start seeing the effects. I can't wait to get my energy back, pain relief, and hopefully throwing my meds in the trash! I'm glad I found this site. It is a wealth of information and I hope to establish a few new friendships as well.
