  1. honey, apple cider vinegar, peanut oil....
  2. my surgeon told me the same, knew i would need to go over 8ccs to get any kind of restriction......my bmi was 36 to start.
  3. michelle - i still track my food/exercise & taking measurements is a really good idea. i have been asked if i'm still losing weight because the weight training is paying off.. but i do eat a lot compared to some .. bike ride was great - didn't go around twice but did shy of 24miles.....was SUCH a pretty day.!. susan - sorry your dealing w/crap again!!! (((hugs)))
  4. hi health4life & joe!! yesterday- b- mocha latte protein shake s- 2 slices of bacon, 1 banana l- caprese salad d- 3oz filet, spoonful of roasted sugar snap peas & sweet potato (roasted them together - plan on making this again)! s- ww strawberry yogurt
  5. check out this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/share-ideas-what-did-you-eat-today-36828/index258.html to get an idea of what people are eating - there are other threads in the food/nutrition section to get an example. i will still have a Protein shake / smoothie several times a wk. i try not to treat them as a Meal Replacement - even though it might be the first "meal" of the day. pills - not such a problem, but i don't take anything other than an asprin here/there.
  6. i've called my trudy for a LONG time, since my port has pro"truded" out since early on.
  7. i'm guessing this thread will soon be moderated~ anyway to the OP - hit the complications forum. VERY rarely does anyone who ate early out or advanced their post op diet have issues right off the bat. you never know what could happen during the healing stage, that will show up months, yrs later. it's hard to say , so to be on the safe side.....follow your post op diet as best as possible. i myself advanced but only by 2 days and after an appt w/my surgeon & his OK. indshark - i myself was a pretty devoted the moment i woke up from surgery & barely lost 30lbs 6 months out. i think your being pretty hard on others - but that would just be my opinion, like everyone else here gets to have.
  8. **LOL** susan, i won't lie it hurts.....my eyebrows never have though. you want to make sure you go to someone who has been doing it a while.....a slip up of wax a further bit south could lead to problems (ie - bathroom) the good thing - it lasts a LONG time before hair grows back & it grows in less.
  9. yesteday - b- mocha latte protein shake s- organic waffle w/apple butter l- ahi tuna on field greens w/honey basalmic d- small cup of pinto beans & half corn muffin
  10. beth - i didn't know you blogged, need to read! g4e - hope the fam situation works itself out! today - FINALLY the sun looks like it might stay out all day rather rain for the most part. packing a lunch for dh and i - mountain biking around a lake near us. i'm hoping to hit around it twice (makes that 37 miles) but DH said he had his doubts (about him - not me..LOL) happy memorial day!!
  11. i wake up HUNGRY, which i think is a good thing - considering that when i was fat, my first meal was around 1-2pm minus my huge latte. i have been getting up around 4-5am to give an insulin shot to my golden retriever. while not ready for a meal, i have been grabbing an atkins Protein shake, or making my own......deal w/the dogs & ranch....then have some kind of breakfast around 10am before hitting the gym. my husband is also banded - can't eat a lick till after 3pm; he's a night owl....me not so much. i'm good not to eat after my diner....but he packs in 85% of his meals from afternoon on. it' hasn't impacted his weightloss, or made mine any more effective....... if however your not able to eat till later in the day, and still hit bed early; the advice given is correct.....an unfill is suggested.
  12. yesterday - spin class/upper body weight training with DH, then after lunch went for a bike ride around the lake, very leisurely today - spin class/11 holes of golf before it started to rain tomorrow - weather dependent, i'd like to ride our bikes around the lake twice (37miles) .. but it's up to the rain. otherwise, back at another spin class & weight training.
  13. yesterday - b- mocha latte protein shake s - organic waffle w/peanut butter l- tuna wrap d- 3oz teriyaki chicken w/warm ginger slaw (carrots/cabbage/green onion/pickled ginger - w/honey/vinegar dressing)
  14. that's great beth...
  15. yesterday - nothing today - spin class, 20min walk on treadmill, upper body workout: bi/tri/shoulder/abs
  16. beth - check out the gelled seats at bike stores. i have one for my mountain bike, however i think riding my horse often has calloused the bum... ****removing all other mental images out........****
  17. i thought the same thing - she never took her robe off when she disclosed her bikini bod on oprah. i personally am not knocking KA, gaining weight in private was hell, i couldn't imagine doing it while the tabloids make a living over someone gaining weight. i just no way believe at her heaviest she was 230.
  18. *i picked all day long yesterday:blush:* b- chicken quesidilla roll s- half cucumber w/greek dill dip l- half tuna wrap s- colby jack cheese stick w/wheat thins d- 2 chicken wings, 1 corn on the cob
  19. good for you fanny! & i love your new avtr! i actually had botox on my eyes on tuesday, i was tired of looking "tired"....wrinkles hadn't kicked in too much; but i have "sleepy eyes".... i have a list i'm making for DH that i want done....i turn 40 next month and i'm going to slide in rather than stumble roll. i'll be following your thread!
  20. HA!, it is now......won't lie - i never changed it the yrs i was obese:) congrats on becoming a nurse; just now saw!
  21. there is NO way she is 210lbs. i was 200lbs at the time i was banded and at barely 5'1.....the pictures i saw of myself then vs what she is claiming is night and day. meaning, i did not look as lg as her. hope she can find something that works permanently, long term.
  22. early on - i really limited my carbs and i'm not sure if that's why i was a slow loser in the beginning or i was just lucky:rolleyes: i try to cook as many meals possible on sundays & have my house fully stocked w/good Snacks, fruits & veggies to pick on. i found if it's not in the house - i don't eat the crap (husband is also banded). till this day i still eat off a salad plate, it more than holds all i need to eat to keep me satisfied..... i really eat what i'm in the mood for these days - for example: breakfast - WW toast w/cream cheese & smoked salmon / tomato, hummus & veggies, organic waffle w/peanut butter, greek yogurt w/fiber one Cereal, veggie black bean burger w/pico de gallo.....etc. lunch - egg/chicken salad in lettuce cups, sushi, Soups such as lentil / white bean chili, salads. diner - i like to have some type of Protein w/veggies & carbs (good ones) or a salad loaded w/all the "good stuff"....i do splurge & have Pasta & mexican food occassionally. snacks - cheese, edamame, nuts, greek yogurt, fruit. i exercise 5 days a wk - some days harder than others & i've realized on the hard days ... i will eat more.
  23. yesterday - b- WW strawberry yogurt w/handful of fiber one cereal s- ostrich jerky stick l- 1 chicken quesadilla roll s- slice of swiss, grilled watermelon 2 slices d- chicken pot pie - homemade, approx 1c worth in size
