  1. started june doing nothing yesterday:) today - spin class & 35 min walk on treadmill ** i found i really love spinning, for well over a yr i have done the c5k & tried to encorporate running into the cardio gig & i just hate it. so i'm good w/that realization. :frown:**
  2. only cause i  ya will i let you get away w/this....LOL actually i did tell my parents & brothers several months out - all very encouraging / supportive, which i knew they would be....but it was nice to do w/out watchful eyes.
  3. yesterday - b- kashi waffle w/apple butter l- vanilla cream muscle milk shake, few almonds d- sm cup tortialla Soup s- chocolate muscle milk shake, cheese stick
  4. thanks ya'll - it's nice to come here, let it out ... then hit real life and feel strong enough to handle. *prognosis is - bone marrow screening of his siblings first, that is happening today. apparently male to male is the best fit. if no match off to the bank, which he was told was also in his favor being of irish/german decent. i'm getting a learning lesson of what nationalities are lacking marrow in the banks. *my BF, needs to get it together. her hubby told DH last night that he can handle - but not her breaking down. i'm dragging her to a spin class today so the boys can do hospital time. *for those on FB - she's the blondie in my avtr pic to the right of me...thanks for your thoughts. plain, i can handle a pinch about now:) and your not too far away:!:
  5. my hero fanny (had to hit my nz friend for "fanny" def)...LOL i got my wax thing on today - thankfully my spa offers wine, which i do partake in. pigs - i asked about the sugar waxing and got an odd eye; ??? eyebrows & down under all lady like right now....
  6. your very sweet slim - we had a kick cancer in the ASS party saturday night before all treatments start. i have an unfill appt tomorrow am - i'm dying for food!!!!
  7. your poll is missing a few other choices -- ie - NO, didn't share my surgery with others therefore happily grateful for unwarranted comments. that would be my selection.
  8. stress has turned my band into the devil. i can't eat a damn thing, aside from living off of starbucks vivannos & my local mexican joints tortialla soup. DH's best friend got diagnosed 2wks ago w/bone marrow cancer & leukemia - he is married to my BF. we are both childless couples and do just about everything / holiday together. managing BF's emotional breakdown has me in caretaker mode - cooking / managing their house / dogs etc....that i can't get much down. side note - down 7.3lbs - but i don't need to be that low. spent a spa day today - and have a muscle milk in hand ... guess an unfill is really in order.
  9. only if castration is done first - so the SOB can't spew any more spawn of hate.....then send him to the prison system w/soap on a rope around his neck. i still pop into this thread - but i have god's telemarketer on ignore, like every other thread she shows up and her dogma appears. i can handle gadgets' pictures & links - but i don't deal w/telemarketers IRL; nor here.
  10. i'll just speak for myself. my dr had no menu plans other than incorporating all food groups : protein, fruit, dairy, veggies, complex carbs. i self imposed a low carb diet early on, and i didn't lose that much - once i went to what was "recommended" i lost more regularly. while i keep track of my calories per day - i don't monitor fat, carbs, Fiber, sugar etc..
  11. thanks slim/bozzj, my band has been fickle for a wk now & about over it  yesterday - b- 1 egg omelette (sausage/pepers/tomato) l- ww strawberry yogurt, lf mozz cheese stick, handful almonds s- kashi crunch bar d- 3oz parmesan crusted talapia
  12. no matter how bad you think your starting off - your starting off!!! i would just listen to your body, no need to start off running & get an injury that may sideline your exercise efforts. congrats to you! so i was a slug tues - thurs:rolleyes2: yesterday - spin class / 20 min walk on treadmill today - going mountain biking tomorrow - round of golf & that's may:!!!:
  13. depending on how tall you are g4e?? 15lbs is a lot for someone short like me - could be 2 sizes.... so - someone needs to pinch me & remind me i live in TX. the weather has been CA like for a wk and i LOVE it. enjoy the wkend all~~~
  14. same here. i thought 30lbs in the first 6 months was awful......but then the next 40+ came off in the 4 following months. think i have to pay more attention maintaining now that when i was losing weight.....odd.
  15. Nope - would NEVER be a guinea pig or practice for a newly annoited weight loss surgeon. do a search on cleo's mom here. there are TOO many surgeons, to entertain one who not only is inexperienced but is also asking a program fee. i find the program fees BS. there is NO reason for them, i know some do....but i think it's just some dr's way of getting more money from insurance patients vs those who self pay. find out how much your ins will pay the dr for the lapband, then see how much his/her self pay patients price is ....my guess the gap is what the "program fee" is for.....my opinion. find another surgeon!
  16. i gave up the diet coke habit at surgery - but i still get my caffiene each AM w/coffee. i do crave the bubbly - and keep diet ginger ale in the house & have about 1 a wk after i open .... let it go flat some.
  17. i hear zero pissed off in your written word  actually have about 20 acres to mow, be the pool guy for the day, clean the barn, house, ... and yes get food / wine :w00t: re - mind going to mush after not working. it was a HUGE welcome, compared to living out of a suitcase hitting a different city each wk, for 15yrs. i'm not one that can sit in the same spot every day - so office life wasn't going to cut it .. for me at least. now i use my higher education to shovel horse shit...:rolleyes2:
  18. i really enjoyed your post and you make some wonderful points about being "scared" of certain foods. i remember that i was done w/my post op diet right before thanksgiving & was petrified to eat anything but mushy food still. the good news is that your not very likely to "break" the band after your healed - but your right the mind "won't" allow you to try for fear.....i get that! i ate so many eggs/cottage cheese early out that i have bought containers of cottage cheese & have tossed them for going bad - just can't bring myself to eat "early" out foods because i killed it w/repetition. i would just try new foods each/every day. some may work one day but not another - band is just fickle that way.....so don't write off anything until your experiences are many w/certain foods.
  19. ha - but see i haven't done a damn thing since. missed the first spin class this AM and deciding if the 1030 class is manageable:) it's just so beautiful out i want to park my butt out by the pool - but i have guests this wkend and really just need to get stuff done around this place........coffee still while i try to come up with a game plan...
  20. better yesterday - the heartburn concerns me because i've never had that - pre/post band, so i think i've worked myself up about nothing & the pepcid seems to help...just going to keep an eye on it - thanks joe! yesterday b- ww strawberry yogurt & colby cheese stick l- 2oz grilled trout, asparagus d- half slice chocolate cake & glass of milk...i know:ohmy:
  21. she is just plain emasculating. not that she deserves to be cheated on - but i can totally see why if he "did". he appears checked out & she should start to figure out a way to raise kids w/out a camera in front of their faces. i just think it's wrong to use children for a buck like this. course my opinion only.
  22. thanks slim - i think i've actually gotten a bit too tight. i'm giving it one more day - then if i have trouble w/food & heartburn i'm getting an unfill tomorrow.
  23. g4e - have you looked online for virtual jobs? a friend of mine left our former employer 2yrs ago (she was an admin assitant) and she now works for 7 executives, who are located all over the country. she actually takes in MUCH more than her original salary and out of the comforts of her home, she's a new mom. she does their travel, expenses, scheduling of mtgs....nothing over the top - but each pay a certain amt an hr, which adds up to close to $32ph and she probably clocks in 5hrs worth of wk a day. she has to be flexible time wise as all are in different time zones - but again, doing it all at home is a great assist to their family. just a thought.
  24. yesterday - didn't feel so hot b- cup chicken tortialla soup l- orange/banana/mango vivanno w/matcha d - cup chicken tortialla soup lots of mint tea
  25. i can go up 4lbs just having too much sodium in my diet - i wouldn't get crazed about it, but i would try to limit your grazing. the band will totally let you eat a bit here / there over the course of the day & those calories will add up.....especially if your not countering it w/calories out (exercise). re - salmon, either you ate too fast or it might have been too dry.
