Hi Sky,
Don't feel so down. It is actually a sign that your body is breaking into your fat stores and burning it. We, as women, store a ton of hormones in our fat cells and when they start to break down our body gets massive doses of all that lovely storage. I am about 10 days out and had one of those days yesterday - I actually berated my fiance for not getting me Water when I asked for it ( apparently, him asking me which kind I wanted... propel / a frozen bottle from the fridge that I couldn't drink / or a bottle that wasn't in the fridge touched a fat nerve) It will get better.

Feeling "Crazy" comes with the territory in the beginning. You're releasing hormones and toxins stored up in your fat cells at a rapid rate. Good news is it gets better. For me, much better after the first month and completely better after about month 3. Hang in there!

skylarkx,
Don't underestimate the impact the anesthesia, surgery and trauma from surgery has had on your body. Your body just went through he!! 6 days ago.
Hope you feel better soon.

Summer Rain reacted to Pixers in I searched first but now I have to ask
That is the way I had to do it. I would ask your Dr though.

I thought about this also. So if the first visit is let's say May 1 with a dr and second visit is June 1. That would be one month. So for a three month supervised diet you would need to see the dr 4 times?

Summer Rain reacted to Pixers in I searched first but now I have to ask
I had my surgery July 9th! I had a rough start. I had a bad reaction to the morphine in the hospital and one of my incisions became infected. But now I feel great! Going back to work on Monday. I both look forward and dread going back:)
-
Summer Rain reacted to Pixers in I searched first but now I have to ask
It may depend on the Dr. I was told it would count. Then my Dr retired when I was on month 4. My new Dr said it doesn't count so I did 7 months.

Summer Rain reacted to LindafromFlorida in Why are some weight loss surgery patients so clueless?
Crazyweight, we are kind here. If not for Bariatric Pal where would you go for support? Thousands and thousands and thousands of posts prove the kindness here. I have posted almost 2,000 posts. You have posted 12. I will continue as an old lady to help whomever I can, to encourage, to whine, to be happy, to be sad, to cheer, to say omg please please do not eat that pizza one week after surgery. For gosh sake, we are human beings and we ask for opinions and we get them. We give them and either someone likes it or is offended. Maybe if someone wants to eat pretzels, pizza, pureed wontons, and french fries a week after surgery, you should not say omg I just ate this stuff. Keep it to yourself or call your surgeon. Many, many people here post what they ate and gentle souls say move on and are supportive. Best to everyone.

Summer Rain reacted to Beckyyb93 in My very long story...August 1st surgery!
Yeah, I know the stomach thing is crazy!
I feel amazing today though..still sore and a little pain from incisions but no swallowing pain AT ALL! I haven't been able to swallow without pain in two years and I can't even believe that I feel so much better this soon my surgeon cut out the stricture and with the moving of my stomach I guess it makes sense that I wouldn't have my old pain but it's still unbelievable. I'm so happy I went through with this surgery, I can already see my life changing for the better! All of my family is so happy that I'm feeling this great, they were kind of skeptical about getting another WLS when the first one was so bad but these results are astonishing!
I'm sure I'll keep feeling better as I heal and I'm looking forward to be able to eat regular food AND lose weight, what a novel concept!! I haven't felt this good since my surgery 2 years ago and I'm less than 4 days post-op..I just wish I would have done this surgery first. It's all good now though yay!!

Summer Rain reacted to Pnut&Bull in Finding it hard to believe.
I was sleeved on July 29th and am still having a hard time believing that it's finally been done. I've had a wonderful experience and feel very fortunate. My surgeon was/is great, the hospital I had the procedure at is top notch and the nurses and LNAs that took care of me were great.
If there is one thing I can recommend is to start walking as soon as you can. I started walking 8 hours after I got to my room and it helped tremendously. I didn't end up needing any pain killers but wished I would have been drugged up when my surgeon removed my drain as that was the worst pain I have ever felt.
To date I have lost 9 pounds since surgery. It's really great seeing the scale go down and I am walking about 1-1.5 hours a day. I'm having a really tough time drinking the Protein Shakes. The after taste is killing me, any suggestion on other ways to get Protein? I'm currently on phase 2.
