  2. 76 lbs gone since June 3rd i want more i will get more!! Now im really looking for a good guy to have a good relationship with... are there anymore good guys left out there?? haha going to be 21 July 28th of this year im super excited [: and now that im almost 80 pounds down i'm a totally new person i'd do everything all over again if i needed too [:!
  3. Yeah my doctor said as long as i was losing 1-2 lbs a week that i wouldn't need a fill. Once that happened (weight loss stopped) then i'd have to come in for a fill asap... I figured being able to continue to lose weight without a fill was good i hope thats the right mind frame and since my weight loss slowed/stopped within the last month i decided to talk to my doctor about a fill and yup yup he said its about time i came back hahaha but he was amazed that i had lost so much without a fill. I was schedualed to get a fill 6 weeks after surgery but i was still going 1-2 lbs... [:
  4. Hi everyone, its been ages since I've been on here seeing as how i used to live on here. I was Banded June 3, 2008 and i just had my 1st fill yesterday (7 months after surgery) I'm 20 years old and my starting weight was 365 I'm now down to 297.8 (according to the doctors scale). i have the V-something band haha but it can hold over 10cc's. My doctor, Dr. Prachand, filled me 5cc's my diet consists of 3 days thick liquids, 1 week mushies, back to regular. Yesterday i stressed my self out, it fill wasn't as painful as i expected, actually the numbing agent was more painful than the fill itself. I wasn't hungry at all yesterday but i had to get something in just so i wasnt hurting my body so i made myself some cream of chicken soup with milk and 2 slices of cheese and ate til full then put the rest in the fridge. Same for today cream of chicken and slimfast protein shake with added protein --> (down to 293.8 this morning) I'm wondering if i should feel a hardcore restriction since my fill was so high up in cc's??
  5. Hey everyone Im 20 years old and I started off at 365 im now down to 308. My band was put in about a little over 3 months ago on June 3rd of 2008. I have really started to notice a lot of hair when i even pull my fingers through my hair. Its coming out root and all not breakage. Any suggestions are welcome i really need help! im going tomorrow to get my hair cut shorter so its not so noticeable )= I loved my long thick hair please let me know if theres anything I can possibly change to get my hair to grow back in and or stop falling out! :crying::wink2:
  6. That was my whole goal in getting banded. I want to live i am soon to be re-born by my own choice (= im so ready!! Thank you all for your support I know im young but mentally I am very wise beyond my years to have made this decision on my own, my doctor didn't even have to suggest it to me i suggested it to him and he was taken aback by it actually but i pushed though for the last 2 years and finally im where i am supposed to be
  7. Hiii everyone! Im Nicole Rose im 19 years old and im from Chicago IL. 2 months and 1 day till im out of my teen years )= Currently i have 2 jobs but one is "letting me go" because i have this surgery planned and need 2 weeks off since its a physically demanding job (SAMS CLUB) and the other job is the same physically demanding status but they are willing to work with me (Gordon Food Service MARKETPLACE aka GFS) I am a full time college student majoring in Dentistry. And does anyone have any suggestions for pre-op diet stuff? and what to wear to surgery and has anyone had vivik prachand before how was he? what were his pre-op and post-op requirements? What were ur nutritionists recommendations for how much Protein to intake? I'd greatly appreciate any info given to me (= thanks loves!!<3 Pre-op work-May 19th Surgery day- May 27th Surgeon- Vivik Prachand; University of Chicago
  10. Hey yeah some ppl are like that and I appoligize for them. I havent been banded yet but im sorta in the position you are. My op is set for the 27th of may. I have lost 13 some odd pounds by using the weight loss pill called Meridia but i dont want to have to be popping weight loss pills for the rest of my life,ya know? I have felt the same way you do but i figure, honestly its your life and your decision but if you know that when you do lose weight and it eventually comes back and comes back with a fury, then wouldn't you want to have the support of the band that will help you keep the weight off and begin a new life?
  11. Okay here we go. Some of you may have seen me looming around for the last past couple months. Hiya I’m back yet again to give you guys’ mai updates. Im 19 female from Chicago i weigh in at 365 now and not happy about it!!! I have been trying to get lap-band for the last past year. I have gone through mai 6 month dietary evaluation for Ingalls and then I did all the pre-opt tests such as the EKG CxR barium swallow blood work and all those super things. I even had a surgeon picked out through Rush Hospital in Chicago. Mai insurance even said I was good to go even though I had to fight them tooth and nail to have them say that lol. I was to go in on FEb 19 and get mai surgery date scheduled BUT get this… After all that the surgeon that I HAD (Dr. Meyers) the insurance called me on the 18th of Feb and told me that they’d pay for the surgeon himself but NOT the hospital or the surgery center so i needed to find someone else to go with or the surgery would be a no-go:crying:. GO FIGURE!! So now I’m getting re-pushed to a different surgeon (Dr. Rashand from University of Chicago) they scheduled me to meet with their nutritionist, psychologist, and the surgeon himself:scared2:. I tried to explain that I’ve been though the ringer and have already done the preemptive workup multiple times. I had to give them 4 days of mai food logs and then they were to discuss me on Wednesday which was yesterday. I got the call on Tuesday a whole day earlier that IM APPROVED!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I now have to go to an information session on March 11th with mai support person from mai family. After that I go back to University of Chicago and meet with the team and stay there all day doing blood work, physical, chest x ray, barium swallow, EKG, and anything else they can pull out of their bag of tricks! Once that’s all done (AGAIN! ]=) then I will be appointed a surgery date and start mai 2 week liquid pre-op diet. I am really hoping i am banded by the end of this month i really honestly am !! 2 years is soo long to have waited for a start to a new life now to have had it in mai reach and pulled back again is just heartbreaking and im a tender heart gahhh im just flustered :cursing:soryyy ppl. Has this ever happened to anyone else?!?!?!?:confused2: if anyone has myspace and wants to talk to me add me please im lookin for ppl around mai age or even close to mai area MySpace.com - nikole ♥ - 19 - Female - Chicago, Illinois - www.myspace.com/yourockmaisocks

I attended 6 months of mandatory nutrition classes but i still would really like to hear it from someone who has had the surgery and knows exactly what i am up against. I have questions if anyone is still out there to answer please respond. How long is recovery. I need quick and easy meals b/c im a college student and worker i dont have much time to set aside to cook a 45 min meal please help i dont know if im doing the right thing. I know that if i dont go through with this mai weight will only continue to increase as it has since i was 6. i need support and dont know where to look.
