Thanks all. Yes, it's a pulling feeling around the port. I'll try a heating pad. The last 2 days it has been fine most of the day & really hurting in the evening. I really appreciate your responses.

I've now gone from a size 22 to size 14/16 and I had my surgery 2 months ago today. It's even more crazy because I've only lost 15 pounds so far but I'm losing sizes/inches!!!

I can't wait to be able to shop in my own closet. Having gained 85 lbs over the last 5 years, I have plenty of current barely-worn clothing that I love and can't wait to wear again!

I went through my clothes this weekend. It is fun to shop in my own closet. Sad when some favourites are too large

I like Boston Market. They have a pretty healthy menu and sometimes I'll get a container of Hot and Sour Soup...just keeping in mind the sodium.

You are on your way; we all went through this (well, me anyway!)....STILL even now at almost a year have to remind myself to slow down, put the utensil down, etc. You are doing GREAT!

That putting down of the utensil was so hard for me -- I didn't want to let go of my implement, lol. I practiced with a clock to help me with that behavior (shovel, shovel). And chewing to Smitherines......
There are some foods that don't work well for me and I know now not to keep at it -- if it's not going to work, it's not going to.
Good luck with all -- you will find your mode. Your surgeon is your partner in this so be frank about what's happening. I was "tight" after my surgery for a few weeks and thought I would be a person who never needed a fill. But then my appetite returned just about the time of the appointment to assess for my first fill. Now I've had several. I think for me it was all related to the inflammation.

I am almost 3 months out and I have never gotten stuck. I hope to never either... I need to really pay attention to the size of bites of food I take, about a nickel size. And I make sure food is real mushy before I swallow it. If foods do not become mushy after chewing for half a minute, I spit it out. That usually means that certain food is not going to work for me. You might want to look over your after care instructions on what to do after a stuck episode. It might mean liquids for 24. Good luck. These are all new eating habits that we all just need to work on. I still have to remind myself to put the fork down between bites and wait a minute.

I was so tight postOp it was SIX MONTHS before my first fill.
And it is crucial you learn how to eat without getting stuck OR getting NPB/slimes/throwing up.
In a stricter sense, we are not "throwing up" if there is no stomach contents/acid/enzymes/etc.
It took about 90 days to be able to actually nibble a soda cracker in 5 minutes without getting the slimes....
SO you for sure need to learn what is TOO tight for you. Discuss issues fully with your provider and seek tips on what phase of postOp care you are in.
    Cheers on your journey.

Rebeccaabrooks86 reacted to B-52 in 3 weeks in and still battling "wanting" not "needing". HELP!
Three weeks after surgery one cannot expect much help from the band...there are exceptions, but for the most all you have had accomplished was successfully going through the surgery, and getting all healed up...back to where you where before the surgery.
Now comes the next phase, and perhaps the most difficult of all...getting your band properly adjusted, and getting yourself adjusted to be in harmony with the band.
This is where many people go their separate ways, and follow their beliefs and comfort zones where they want to be and how they feel they want to do it....some find it, some do not...some are 100% successful and complete this journey, some not and never will....the band is adjustable.
Sometimes I feel it would be easier if it weren't, but it is. And there is a big learning curve one has to go through....that is why they start drilling in the "Rules" long before the surgery itself....they will start to become practicable soon.
Three weeks in? Nothing.....NOW the real journey is about to begin.

Holy COW!! The changes in my body are so very noticeable and I'm beside myself with excitement! Yes, I've lost 26 pounds, and that's so incredibly awesome, but the OTHER successes are even more important to me.
    * I've dropped from a size 24 to a size 20. (Sadly, this means I have to go shopping. I hate shopping.)
    * I've dropped from a 42H bra size to a 40F ... and am currently wearing a 40DD sports bra that I've not been able to wear in THREE YEARS!
    * I have more ENERGY to do things that I need and want to do.
    * NO MORE UPPER BACK FAT!! This morning when I put my bra on, it felt like the strap was caught on my fat. It's happened so very often that I've gotten used to checking the mirror to see where things are hung up and maneuver it around the fat rolls. But this morning when I looked .. the strap was simply TWISTED, and there was NO FAT for the strap to be caught on!! WHAT??
    * My hubby is very .... appreciative of my shrinking form. I'll just leave that as it is.
What awesome successes have you guys achieved?
