  1. I am the same way.... I lose weight very quickly when I am completely focused on losing. If I have one off day I tend to gain a significant amount of weight back over night. It's so frustrating. I decided that I wasn't going to try to lose during my NUT visits.... I just didn't want anything to happen because my BMI is under 40 and I don't want my insurance Co to say I can just continue with the nutritionist since it's working.

  2. Do all of you who are scheduled on Sept. 8th and 9th have to do a liquid fast before surgery?

If so, we should start a thread so we don't get lost in the suffle and we can buddy up from pre-op through post op.

It will be nice to hear about everyone's experiences and to "feel" like we are in this together even in the hospital.

  3. My RN-Y Gastric Bypass surgery has been set! September 8th 2014 I will go under the knife for my laparoscopic surgery. It will be preformed by Dr Danny Vaughn of the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute of Ga (Macon, Ga). I start my two week liquid diet on Monday Aug. 26th! I am beyond excited and cannot wait to start my life anew! 28 y/o, F, 330lb, 5'3" So long as everything looks good at my hospital pre-op on Sept 2nd, surgery is a go!

I just got my date and I'm scheduled for Sept. 8th too.

  4. I just found out my date is September the 8th, kinda scared, kinda excited, just hoping it goes smoothly.

SEPTEMBER 8, is my big day. I can't believe it really....I am so excited, and completely petrified all at the same time!

My brother had his sleeve done in March and has lost 159 pounds!!

It's all I needed to see to know that this could totally work for me too!

I'm new here so would love to connect with other sept surgeries!

I just got home from the surgeons office and I have a tentative date set for Sept. 8th.

Pending everything goes smoothly with my insurance, pre-op visit, labs and EKG.... those should not be an issue. I am excited and now VERY nervous. It is all feeling pretty quick after the 90 day NUT visits.

I have been wanting to just get a date set..... as soon as they asked me if I had a week in mind, my heart automatically dropped to my feet. LOL

  5. I love shopping and I answered YES to many of the questions asked. Lol

I have never spent money that shouldn't be spent or went overboard and was in a panic about how much I spent later.

I will shop at any size but it's much more fun nog to have such size restrictions and being able to shop in the non-plus size section and know things will fit.

  6. I am still pre op and I have only told my husband. I would like to keep it that way because I don't feel like I should have to explain anything about what I do with my body to others. I have no plans to ever tell my son because I think it would be too difficult for him to not let it slip out.

  7. I am so afraid of losing my hair. I already have thin hair and losing any of it will result in noticeable bald spots. I think that's a big part of why I have not tried to have this surgery sooner. I have come to terms that I will just have to deal and figure it out when/if the time comes instead of letting the fear hold me back.

I started taking Biotin 2 weeks ago and I am hoping it will help.
