I hope it's something easily fixable.... It's for sure not gas? That's the only stabbing pain I have felt through this whole process and once I started passing it, it went away completely by the end of day 4.
  2. I saw that months before I started this process... I agree that it's great. However, I don't think it's great for newly post-ops with any WLS because we need to focus more on protein.

No, I'm not feeling any pain w/o meds. I slept on my stomach last night with no issues. The only thing is after a few hours of being on my feet and just being out and about.... I start feeling tired and my stomach feels uncomfortably heavy. When that happens I go home and end up falling asleep.
  4. I had the GB 7 days ago and I am the complete opposite. I never passed gas or had a BM in the 3 days I was in the hospital but on the 4th day at home... All the liquids I had been drinking started being released. Now I am in the bathroom after every drink.... It's never a lot, it seems like the amount that I drink. I have not used any aids.... It just happens.

I got my genepro in the mail yesterday and I plan to add it to soup today. It was kinda pricey for such a small bag but the scoops are smaller too.

My surgeon has a guide that has the different phases. It's starts out with days. Days 1-3 clear liquids, 4-7 full liquids, 2nd week you can add creamy soups, puddings and veggie juice. 3rd week add soft foods like refried beans, hummus.... 4 week soft foods like chicken salad, tuna, eggs... 5th week regular diet.

How's everyone doing? I can't believe I'm going on day 7 tomorrow.... The time really is going by pretty quickly. I don't have an appetite at all so it's really easy for me to just drink. I still have to be really careful of finishing my last few sips too quickly though. I have been really fortunate to be able to tolerate everything I have tried.... Water is even starting to work out. I feel hopeful for the upcoming stages. Does anyone know if the glue they use to stitch some of us up... Just falls off at some point?

    Piercings?

You don't have to take them out.... You can sign a waiver saying that you are aware of what can happen if you leave them in. They will tape them but that does not prevent you from getting burned in the rare chance that you do.

Don't let fear of the unknown or other people be the deciding factor of your life. If you do it, do it for you. If you decide not to do it, make sure it's truly your decision.

I am doing really well too... I'm 5 days post-op and my doctor had me on clear liquids so far but tomorrow I can start drinking shakes and stuff. I was in the hospital for about 2.5 days with no real issues other than gas pains. I went home with a drain and had it removed the next day and all has been fine. So far I'm tolerating everything that I have tried to drink but I tend to rush the last 2 drinks of things and my body lets me know it right away..... So I gotta be careful with that.

Oh.... Okay, I can see that. I have also stopped my pain meds, it actually hurt to drink it. I went out to lunch with some friends today and had a non-sweetened fruity tea and a cup of chunky veggie soup with a slice of bread. I sipped the tea and had her put it in a to-go cup because I knew I couldn't finish it quickly. I sipped the broth from the soup which was really good and a nice change from chicken broth. I had her pack up the leftover soup and the bread and I brought it home to my husband. We walked around to check out the other shops around and I would say it was a successful outing.

You're not the only one. I bought a whole pack of vanilla over a year ago and it took my forever to finish them. They are way too sweet and they just taste generic. I am shocked that your doctor wants to wait so long to see you. My doctor wants to see me in a little over a week after surgery.

I think the unflavored protein powder will help a lot. I can't drink water... Idk what it is but it makes me feel uncomfortable. I can drink tea and crystal light with no problem. Water has a taste that is like sucking on pennies.

Msspiceybaby... How many grams of protein do you get in carnation? My doctor doesn't want me drinking a protein drink with less than 20g on it's own.

I don't know yet... I just ordered it yesterday after reading about how people add it to coffee and soups and it doesn't change the flavor. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow. The main thing I keep reading on here post-op is how people have a hard time getting all their protein in. Most say it's because they get tired of shakes and they are not in the full eating stage yet. I just want to make sure that I try to get all mine in.... So I am giving it a shot.

Msspiceybaby... I heard from Shauna too. I am hoping to hear about a new date soon. I didn't get gasX because it seemed pretty hit on miss with its effectiveness. I was told not to do slim fast.... It's on my not approved list. I just ordered that tasteless protein powder they were talking about on here from amazon.

Inspirationmyson.... Omg, your poor belly. It totally looks like they beat you up in that OR. Great job with the walking,I have been moving around but not really walking for exercise yet. I know I better get on it. So glad things are going well for you. Looks like we had the lucky days.

Oh noooo... I wonder why no jello. It's under liquids and they even gave it to me in the hospital when I was on clear liquids only. Seriously that has been my saving grace. Something about the texture has my tiny tummy loving it as long as I don't eat too quickly. I had the hiccups twice when I drank my crystal light with a big sip but it didn't last long. Do you take pain meds at home? Glad to hear that it's getting better.

How is everyone doing? I feel just fine... The gas is finally starting to exit and I am no longer feeling that pain. I went in and had my drain taken out today and that hurt... A LOT but nothing I can't handle. I am just glad it's gone and now I can take a proper shower and I no longer have to pin a pouch on my clothes. Other than that.... I am tolerating liquids pretty well. Since yesterday I have had some chicken broth, crystal light lemonade, diet cran juice, sf popsicle and lots of sf jello in different flavors. I tried broth and tea in the hospital and didn't like the way it made me feel but at home... It's better. I went back to school today for half the day and that went pretty well. Overall... I am pretty happy with how things have been. I just hope it keeps getting better though. I hope you guys are doing great as well.
  24. Yes... That was one of the first things they had me do when I checked into the hospital. Give them urine, change into a gown and weigh in.

Yay.... It's finally here! Just keep that positive vibe you have had and everything will work out. Tell yourself that everything will be fine and that you won't have any issues. I am on day 4 post op and I feel great... Not one problem other than the avoidable gas pains and they are not debilitating or anything. Good luck... I can't wait to hear from you post op.
