Yes... Those are on my "No" list for protein.

    Stalled Blues

I went up a pound.... I know that's why they say not to weigh everyday but my weight loss post surgery has been soooo slow, I can't help looking.

Let us know what you find. I have to go get groceries for the FAM tomorrow.... But I usually get my protein from speciality stores and I never bothered to look at places like Walmart.

I just started doing protein powder in my coffee.... I used total lean 25g (GNC) peppermint mocha and coffee with ice and blended it for a frappe.

I got them at a vitamin store by me. They were 2.85 each, but I just bought a choc and vanilla to try. The chocolate wasn't bad at all.... I think I will get them again. I have not tried the vanilla yet.

check out all this protein!!!! It's morning and that's more than half the days worth.
  8. I had the bypass and I only told my husband. I have a ton of friends and family and it's none of anyone's business what I do with my body.

I usually drink a 35g can protein shake in the morning and at lunch I eat soup and add 30g of Genepro protein. I also sip on hot tea and crystal lite throughout the day and at some point I will have iced tea. I eat Greek yogurt which gives me about 12g protein and if I want a coffee treat I do decaf coffee mixed with chocolate mocha protein 25g... But not everyday. I manage to get at least 60g of protein in everyday ... Sometimes more. Drinking is very easy for me but the soups, pudding and yogurts fill me up quickly. I have no clue if I am getting 64 ounces of what is considered liquids but I know I am not drinking enough plain water.

It will Shauna.... Just be confident and do what your surgeon says. Most of us have had some really good luck.

    I didn't take offense.... It's all good.

Oh no.... That is so wrong that they are trying to dictate exactly what you do to your body. I can't even imagine that struggle. My insurance Co. held things up for me because my surgeon stated that I might have a possible hiatal hernia to repair (which I did) but he had to take that off the paperwork before they would approve me. I meant water all by itself. I have been drinking crystal light easily even in the hospital. I can drink all my listed drinks with no problem except for water.

Hey girl.... I was just thinking about you last night. I'm glad that things are falling in-line for you. I can't wait to hear all about your process. You will still be a Sept. Baby!!!! Yay I am doing great.... I'm pretty much feeling back to normal other than the minor itch I get every now and then around my incisions. Oh... And it's soooo hard for me to drink water but I'm not giving up. I have been able to tolerate all of my pre-approved drinks/soups/puddings/jello.... And I am very thankful to have been mostly pain free from surgery. I am finally losing so that's the biggest plus.... But I'm trying not to let that be everything. Please let me know when you find out your date....

I think you misunderstood.... We weren't talking about eating it. It's coming up and I was referring to what I will miss most about the thanksgiving feast. Trust me... I am not a huge fan of traditional holiday feasts, so those aren't even triggers for me. It's so hard to know what ppl are really trying to say when they are posting.

I was thinking about egg salad too but then quickly turned to thoughts of deviled eggs. LOL I'm really curious if I will be able to tolerate scrambled eggs when the time comes.... That seems to be a huge issue for a lot of ppl.

Ugh.... My incisions/scabs are starting to get itchy. I hate that because it's soooo hard not to scratch. I just hope I don't do it in my sleep. I had some chobani yogurt today.... It was a nice change and 12 grams of Protein.

I'm not having issues getting liquid in as far as anything that's not Water... But water tastes gross to me and it makes my stomach feel funny. I can drink more now than I could a few days ago but it's still not much throughout the day. Other liquids like tea, crystal light, and light cranberry juice.... I can drink with no problem. I can even drink my whole 11oz can of Protein. I try to drink most of my protein by lunch time just incase I don't want much later in the day. At this point I can't even imagine eating puréed foods because the liquids keep me more than satisfied. I am exactly the same weight I was when I went into the hospital.... So in my eyes, I have not lost an ounce. I see what people mean when they get frustrated because It seems impossible not to be losing.

How is everyone? Hopefully healing and getting back to moving around and sleeping like a normal person again. Have you guys started taking your vitamins yet? My surgeon doesn't start that until day 7 which I have passed but I have not started yet.... I plan to take them today even though I am a little afraid. I have read so much about ppl having issues with them but I know they are super important. Also... I gained 6 pounds while in the hospital (I expected it... So not shocked) but I just finished getting it back off at to the point where I started. I figured that the water weight would have be gone already and I would see some surgery loss by now. I know people talk about the stall at three weeks and I feel like I am not going to lose much before my body hits it's first stall.... Anyone dropping real pounds yet?

Btw.... The genepro is awesome.... The scoops are so small and it didn't change the taste or consistency of my soup at all. It's definitely worth it.
