  1. I'm so sorry to hear this. This must be so frustrating for you.

It's also an emotional time too after surgery. I hope with trial and error you can find foods that you do like. Hang in there.

I am not eating nearly close to what I am supposed to. Everything tastes different. I can't stand the taste of Water, and I loved Water before. I'm searching for maybe the right bottled water. I have a filter on my tap at home, and I LOVED it prior to surgery. Tea I have found most comforting. I continue to try to get all my fluids in, but I truly sympathize. I don't have any hunger anymore so I have to force myself to eat. Quite different from me pre-surgery. So I get what you are saying.

Hopefully with time, things will change. Keep us updated.

I have been the same way with water! I live on crystal light lemonade now.

  2. Size 30 pants, now in a 24, but only a few more pounds until 22. Was wearing 4x shirts that were usually big on me because I hate anything clingy and should proably be in a 1x/2x now but need to do some shopping for some new stuff now that spring is here! Was able to get away with baggy up til now, recently I look ridiculous! LOL

  3. My surgery is November 10th. Up until this past week I was scheduled for a sleeve. When I went to my pre op appointment with my surgeon he informed me that my endoscopy showed I have Barrett's esophagus and I should do bypass instead! Now I am trying to find more info on byapss as far as post op diet etc. I was totally prepared for the sleeve and I was wondering how much of a dufference there is post op??

  4. Got the call today to set up my date...Novemeber 10th! 2 hours later she called back to tell me I was approved! Amazingly fast! Next step is my final appointment with the surgeon for last minute questions and weigh in, followed by pre op tests. Then on the 6th I have a nutrition class for post op diet.

    Time to start that countdown!

  5. @RJ'S/beginning I am definitely researching stuff! I lurk and read a LOT here and have read over my packets from the NUT several times. Originally my EGD was scheduled for November 19th, but they had a cancellation and I got in on 10/8, so I know I should just be grateful I am at this point. I am just looking forward to starting my new life!

  6. So I had my last clearance appointment a week ago. Called the surgeon's office and spoke with the coordinator and apparently they are still missing my gastro/endoscopy report, my psych clearance, and my letter from my primary. She was putting in calls to get them, hopefully they will be quick about it! Other than the letter, which I called and requested weeks ago, the other 2 reports were the last 2 that I just had, so I am trying to be patient but it is so HARD! She said as soon as they get them, I will get a call to set up my date! Fingers crossed!!

  7. So today was my first appointment at the surgeon's office. It went really well and if all goes smoothly with my clearances, I could be having my sleeve done in 2 months! I need to make appointments with a cardiologist, pulmonologist, psych, get an endoscopy, and bloodwork. I am required to have 2 nutritionist appointments and attend 1 support group meeting. After all the clearances come in, they will submit and I have to attend a class on learning post op nutrition and Vitamins and will get my date! With all that going on, I am hoping time will just fly by!

  8. I have my first appointment to get the ball rolling on Tuesday. I have only talked to my husband about it, and 1 coworker that I am fairly close with. After I get more info I will begin to tell my family. I haven't decided if I will tell more coworkers. 4 people in my office had the lap-band and after initially losing, gained it all back. And I have heard the way people gossip about them behind their back, so I would like to spare the drama, at least for a while. I am sure it will come out eventually, but by then I won't care.
