What is my problem?!?!?!?!
I'm so sick of my self & my laziness!! For the first 8 months of being banded, I did EXCELLENT!! I lost 63 lbs. I worked out 5 times a week & felt so good. I had so much energy. In the past 2 months I have completely fallen on my face!!:faint:I haven't gained any weight, but I am feeling jiggly. I haven't been to the gym once!!! Not once in over 2 months. I no longer make healthy choices when I eat & I am just sick of myself!! I know I'm not a complete failure because I have lost 63 lbs after all! (And I DO feel good about that!) But what is my problem?! Why can't I just get with the program & get my butt back in gear & lose the last 25 lbs?!?!?

Success Diet for Bandsters!!
NJGirl - you are good!! That was fast. I read through the web-site & was surprised that it was EXACTLY how the girl described it. I thought for sure she may have exaggerated a little on the no fruits & veggies. But.....wow, it says on there specificially to not eat any grains, veggies & fruits.

New diet i found
So, do you think I can squeeze Oreos into this diet anywhere? :paranoid I just downed 6 oreos with a tall glass of 2% milk. (It might as well have been cream!) My husband got some Oreo dunkables for Father's Day & I hadn't touched them until today. Hey, I held out for 4 days, that's not too bad!!!!!! That sad thing is - I wasn't even hungry!! What do you think? Should I start all over again & do day 1 again tomorrow or just continue with day 3? And I was doing so good!! DAMN COOKIES!!!! :speechles Funny, I am so amazed with you & your progress. What is your secret?!?!?!?

Success Diet for Bandsters!!
Hey All, I tried to get a hold of the girl who posted this on the other site & she hasn't been back in awhile. I wanted to see how she was doing on this diet & if she & others really stick to it. I agree that it seems very much like Atkins & I personally couldn't handle the Atkins diet. I'm wondering if the people wo follow this diet actually KEEP the weight off once they lose it.

How do you beat the heat?
I live in AZ! Does that tell you anything? A few days ago the temp. was 115. ACK!! The only thing that saves me is to go to a gym that has ice cold air conditioning. I'm looking into buying a treadmill & setting it up right in front of the TV. The fan blowing on you sounds like a great idea. Anybody have a treadmill that they absolutely LOVE?!?! I have no clue where to even begin looking. I don't want a cheap one!

New diet i found
Hey Kathy - that seriously may explain your low blood sugar slump!! I'm going to assume that THIS is the reason for the juice - so we don't feel like we're going to pass out! Hmmm......Funny, what are you drinking? Did you ever feel the feelings that Kathy did?!?

New diet i found
Okay, here we go again! I'm on day 1 & LOVING this soup. I truly DO like it!! I want to make sure I'm doing this right . The list of things you can drink says unsweetened juices. Am I understanding correctly? Does this mean I can drink 100% grape juice, cherry juice, orange juice....etc. as long as it is pure juice & doesn't have added sugars?!?! I've been chugging down grape juice but feeling a little guilty about it. (empty calories!) What are you guys drinking?!? Am I waaaay off here?!?!?!? (Don't worry, I'm still drinkin' my Water, but also enjoying the juice too!) Also, anyone know how to find out how many calories or carbs are in a bowl of soup?

Setting a realistic goal weight...
I changed my new goal to be 172 - my wedding day weight. HOLY COW!! That means I am now only 25 lbs. away from goal. That seems so much more attainable. I CAN DO THIS!! Gee, I think I've lost a lb. just by the excitement of it all. This is liberating!! Ever feel like you lost 22 lbs in one day?? :biggrin1: :biggrin1: :biggrin1:

Setting a realistic goal weight...
I agree. I am going to get where I get & see how it feels once I'm there!! My goal is supposed to be 150. Heck, I weighed 172 when I was married & I thought I looked HOT!! I can't even begin to imagine myself at 150!!!!! People are telling me all the time that I must have hit goal weight & I am still far from it!! I think we all hold our weight differently & you truly can't compare yourself to someone else even if they're the same height & build. We're all just DIFFERENT!! Now that I've written this, I am really considering changing my goal weight to 172 on my ticker. I think I am just setting myself up for failure by aiming to weight 150. Okay Dawg, now you got me really thinkin' about this. Hmmmmm............. :tired

New diet i found
Christy, I paid about $40 when I bought all the ingredients & thought - WOW, I had no idea it would cost this much. But then remember, all this food lasts you for a full week!! Good luck on your new soup adventure. I hope you do well!!! I'll start with you again on Monday!

New diet i found
Hi Paula! I hit ONE-derland about 6 weeks ago!! YEAH!! (I made a thread with pictures of me stepping on the scale. Bring back memories?!?!) But, my weight changes daily & it is too frustrating to keep changing my ticker, so I just keep it at 199 because I just like seeing those numbers. It's memories of a very, very good day. Right now I weight 197. When I started the Soup diet I was at 201. I've been stuck for a while & this diet was actually getting me unstuck!!!!! I just love it! I can't wait to start it again. I am hoping I can maintain this 197 for a little bit. How are you doing Paula? Have you had any fruity pebbles lately?

Unethical bandsters?
Great thread! I have been thinking a lot about this very thing ever since my recent experience trying to get insurance. Get this - I had my insurance man at my house & we were filling out all the forms to see if we could qualify for the insurance. One of the questions was - "Have you had any type of surgery in the past year?" I put down a YES & then started answering the questions next to it explaining what kind of surgery it was. The insurance man stopped me. He asked me what kind of surgery I had. I explained to him about the lapband surgery. He stammered a little & then took the paper away from me & gave me another one. He suggested to me that I write a NO in that section. I was STUNNED!! I am an honest person & was feeling very, very uncomfortable about marking a NO. He explained to me that we weren't cheating the system, we were just letting them know that I was indeed healthy. He knew that last year the insurance company had turned me down because of my weight. Now that I had lost weight, he knew that they would still turn me down because I had surgery. He said that because I was a self-pay in Mexico that there are no records in the US proving my surgery & that as long as I continue to go to MX for my after care I shouldn't have to report it. This system is so FRUSTRATING!! It seems as if everyone is trying to deny you for everything because they don't want to pay for it!! I can easily see why people would want to put rocks in their shoes & do all that crazy stuff. You mean to tell me it's healthier to gain 20 lbs. just so the insurance will cover you?!?! SOMETHING IS VERY VERY WRONG ABOUT ALL OF THIS!!! It seems like the system is cheating US, not us cheating the system!! :tired

New diet i found
Okay, I'm a little frustrated with my band!! Sometimes my band will just close up & I can't get anything down but liquids. This happened to me yesterday. :cry It was banana & milk day. As the day went on I could slowly feel it coming on. I would take a bite of soup & could feel the soup stopping & not wanting to go down. I waited a while & then tried again. Same thing. By the evening, I could no longer get any soup down & the bananas were a joke. I wanted to eat the soup so bad. So, today is beef & tomato day & I just don't see it happening. I ended up having a Protein shake last night because I was so hungry. :phanvan I also drank one for breakfast. I am up one lb. & really not happy about this!!!!! My band is so finicky! This happens to me about twice a month & I don't know what brings it on. This swelling around my band should go down in 2 days but in the meantime, I can't follow this diet anymore & I really, really wanted to. It was working so well!!! This is the only part I really don't like about having a band. Sometimes it prevents me from eating the healthy foods that are good for me. Not trying to complain....I really am happy to have my band. I'll try it again next week!! Good luck to everyone.

Hi Best Me! I am wondering why you got shakey? I never felt that way at all. You were smart to eat some cheese & crackers. Maybe just eating the soup for your few meals will work. Do you like the soup?

I want a diet coke
I have sips of my husbands diet coke every once in awhile when we go out to eat. I never drink a full can and I have never ordered my own. I don't have pain, just a little uncomfortable feeling, like I need to burp. I don't suggest anyone every drink any kind of pop!! It's probably better if all of us never drink another one again. But, if you choose to, it won't be the end of the world.

Frustrated and TICKED Off!!! - Question about Scales
I have a digital scale & found out that it weighs differently depending on where I stand on the scale. If my feet are close to the edge, I weigh less. If my whole foot is right smack in the middle, I weigh the most. I just make sure I have my feet in the exact same position every time & it comes out reading the same. Kinda dumb that it does this!!! I weigh myself 3 times & take the smallest weight of them all. HA!

Emotional Overeating
You know what keeps me motivated? SEEING A BIG, FAT, UGLY PICTURE OF MYSELF!! I don't ever want to be that person again & looking at it makes me want to do better. Don't know if this would work for you or not. I have my picture posted in my office inside the cabinet door. When I'm in the office, the door is the first thing to be opened so I can see it constantly. When, I'm out of the office, that door is closed so nobody else has to look at it! ha What motivates you?! Find out what that is & keep whatever it is in front of you as much as you can.

New diet i found
Day 4 & I have lost 5 lbs!!! My daughter has lost 7!! I agree that this soup can be eaten any time, whether you follow the diet program or not. Last night I was so excited to eat soup. It tastes better & better every day.

Chocolate Addictions...
Hi Kellie! chocolate isn't BAD!! Just add it in to your calories for the day. I personally can't have chocolate in the house because it will be gone in just a few hours. I have absolutely NO WILLPOWER when it comes to chocolate. A friend told me that if I were to just eat one hershey's kiss a day it would solve my chocolate cravings. So, I went to the store & bought a bag & fully intended to make the bag last a whole month. IT WAS GONE IN 2 DAYS!! Yeah, I'm pathetic. (NO WONDER I'VE BEEN ON A PLATEAU FOR SO LONG!!!!) So, now I buy a small chocolate mint square while I'm at the store, eat it right then & count it in my calories for the day. I can't keep the chocolate at home - too dangerous!! Even the slim-fast bars don't work for me. I eat all of them in one day!! ha! Good luck!! There's lots of us who are just like you!! WE CAN DO THIS!!!
