  1. I had my first set of surgeries 12/12/17. Medial/Inner Thigh Lift, Brachioplasty and Mastopexy. The most painful the first day were thighs, but the most painful overall in recovery were arms. The breasts had barely any pain, but maybe because my body was overwhelmed with the pain in other areas! I didn't have any drains, but ended up with a seroma in one of my thighs, which had to be drained about 4 times and is completely gone. These areas were done first, because my arms bothered me the most. One of the first questions my doctor asked me was, "If you had a magic wand and could fix 3 areas in the order of importance, what would they be?" My next set of surgeries IN 2 WEEKS (06/05/18) will be the Lower Body Lift with fat transfer to my bottom, Lateral/Outer Thigh Lift and an Upper Back Lift. I decided to not get implants, because I absolutely LOVE my smaller perkier breasts! So, instead of getting implants (which we were going to do during this surgery), I'm getting my upper back lifted. I've realized how much my back bothers me. I always wear shirts that camouflages the loose skin bulge in my bra. I was concerned with the order of the surgeries, because if you do the lower body first, then the upper body, you can fine tune what was already done on the lower. I discussed this with my doctor, but he assured me that the difference it would make on MY body would not outweigh the cost I'm saving in doing 2 surgeries instead of 3. GOOD LUCK in your decision and just rest assured that whichever order you go and all is done it will be a happy ending!!

    BEST protien shake option

I've always used unjury (this is what's sold at my doctor's office). I like the chocolate, but I do NOT like the vanilla. I'm looking for a good tasting vanilla to use in low carb mug cake recipes. Great info on this thread, thank you!

    "Time of the month" cravings

I don't crave anything specific, I just crave ANYTHING. I get very "snacky". I never noticed the snack attacks before surgery and I guess because I didn't try to refrain. Now that I am strict with my eating, I notice how badly I want to snack a few days before I start.

    BMI rant

Kim, thank you for posting this! Right before I logged on Bariatric Pal, I was checking my BMI again and your post was the first I read! The entire reason I changed my goal weight was based on that dang chart. I love this forum. When I have questions, feeling upset, unsure, etc. I come here and you all NEVER let me down. I hardly ever post, but I have been an active reader for awhile now. I find more peace reading on this forum than I do speaking with friends. Don't get me wrong, my friends are extremely supportive but they will never understand the way all of you do. THANK YOU!
  6. I'm 5'5 and my goal weight is 145. I want to be in my healthy BMI.
  7. @@Thenewnic Good luck to you! Even if your surgery is outpatient, your doctor is only a phone call away!
  8. I was inpatient and ended up staying an extra day (2 days total). There was no way I could have gone home due to my blood sugars dropping so low the day after surgery. I was near coma (I'm not a diabetic). Had they sent me home, no telling what would have happened.
  9. Hello, I'm 3 weeks post-op and have had no issues with vomiting except when I take my Vitamins. I ordered from Celebrate (Bariatric Vitamins). My first order were chewable vitamins and for a couple of days I had no issues. Now when I take them, they come back up almost immediately, so I ordered them in the pill form (have to take 3 pills). Same thing, as soon as I take them I am immediately nauseous. Yesterday, I took a Zofran right after and it stopped the urge to hurl. Tonight, I didn't take the Zofran fast enough and barely made it to the restroom. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what brand I should try? Preferably only one pill even if it's big. Thank you for any suggestions!
  10. Hi Allie, I had my surgery on October 8th and the same thing happens to me. I find that it happens the most with colder or warmer temperatures. I've been drinking my Water at room temperature and don't have the issue as much, only if I take too big of a drink or when my stomach tells me "no more".
  11. My surgery is scheduled for October 8th. I've been so excited up to this point, but today my mind has been racing with so many thoughts... Am I ready for this life changing surgery? Do I really want this? Why am I doing this? Why don't I just continue losing weight on my own?... We will get through this! Good luck to all of you!
