  1. I wil look for it latr but a group out there took dr oz to task and listed tha there were well over 400 supplements dr oz has recommended we should all be taking daily, and they figured if we did, not only would we likely be dead but it would take over an hour a day to take them all. And thats not including the superfoods we have to eat every day. LOL im sorry he may have been a gifted surgeon, but the man will sell anything for a buck.
  2. Good for you!! I actually walked by a mirror in a department store and sort of jumped away because i thought it was someone else about to bump into me. I dont even recognize myself.
  3. 42g of Protein is not valid. Just so you know pretty much anything over 30 is excreted. The most you can absorb is around the 30g threshold so over that is something you shouldn't count on your daily protein intake. Good luck. btw my savior during the liquids phase? sugar free Jello.
  4. From the male side its a totally different life. im ashamed a bit to admit i used to last about 4 minutes and the fat pad around my a..area was hiding quite a bit. now im horny as a porcupine on steroids three times as...endowed and average 20 to 25 minutes per . From the male side of things, its a whole diferent ball game..pun not intended.
  5. I started my journey at 408, after my pre op diet i was in my surgery at 362 5 foot 8, Now 240 ish days later im at 198 pounds. I had REALLY bad sleep apnea before the surgery so much so that I had UPPP surgery previously to help it, with some success but not much. Now after getting over 200+ pounds off my chest and neck ( im down 7 inches in my neck alone! ) i can say it is amazing. My sleep apnea is almost non-existent, my daytime sleepiness is gone, I now wake up early, feeling great and literally jump out of bed, those days of lounging in bed for hour after hour, just wanted that little more, are gone. Surgery went off with no worries about the anesthesia. As to what surgery to have, no one can answer that for you, its totally up to you and what works for you. We are all partial to what weve had and what works for us. Whatever works for you is your best choice. Good luck, you can do this.
  6. can you give us an idea of what you are eating , calories dont provide what type of calories your eating. Also you may just be in the dreaded 3 week stall, happens to almost all of us. Your body is still getting used to what has happened.
  7. Both Phentermine and Bontril are almost always used in conjunction with a sedative or a depressant like ( originally fenfluramine) Xanax, Topamax, or the combo drug phen pro- which is Phentermine and Prozac, or the like. That removes the wide awake portion. But they have very limited short term use and lets face it it is speed and taking speed every day will cause problems long term , not the least of which is addiction and the need for larger doses. So be careful with them.
  8. Well outside of the fact that my butt hurts after a good ride. id say go for whatever works for you sir. Keep up the good work!
  9. Well folks Today it happened. This morning i weighed in at 199.6 , i even took a picture of the scale reading that. The emotions were powerful but amazingly fulfilling. Id like to thank everyone here who has helped, cajoled, encouraged or offered advice , for what you have done to help me get to this point. Through surgery, nutrition, exercise and help from my friends, family, and you all I have reached this goal. Now onward to my final goal. Thank you all again!
  10. just an FYI there is no anastomosis in sleeve surgery. Only in a RNY or Bypass. and for the record, i use flintstones with Iron and an iron supplement. you just take two chewable. they taste just fine. But vitacraves make a sugar free gummy that was okayed by my nut as well, my wife takes them as she is/was pre etic. also there is a vegan chewable iron that is actually quite good.
  11. wait you are streaming the procedure? or just your pre surg etc.?
  12. Absolutely wonderful!! Way to go. I need 8 tenths of a pound more to break into One-derland myself. Great Job!!!
  13. ONE-DERLAND!!! Way to go! im 8 tenths of a pound away from hitting One-derland myself. Absolutely wonderful good for you!!
  14. its the Syntrax line of new Protein shake powders, called syntrax naturals. They use all natural ingredients, no lactose, no gluten, no sugar , zero fat , there are 9 carbs as they use non caloric erythritol, it uses monkfruit, stevia and the aforementioned erythritol to ( supposedly) blend away the after taste prevalent in many mixes. Ill be trying them over the next couple of days so ill let you know.
  15. premier is wayyy to sweet for me, i use the Syntrax products but if you really need lower sweet, the Vitamin shoppe now sell abouttine brand products i assure you beyond a doubt they are the lowest flavored Protein shakes to still have flavors. also have very few ingredients. Any ready pre mixed or RTD shake mix will be super sweet. You can order abouttime packets online as well, and yes its one word.
  16. SO , SInce my debut in modeling, lol For SI03 aka the makers of Syntrax products. They made up some special samples for me of the New Syntrax naturals line. I came home to find a box with these in it. I will try these over the next few days and post videos of the taste tests. Evidently there are 4 flavors they sent, ( these are 1/2 serving sample sizes each packet.) They are Naturals chocolate , Natural strawberry and cream, natural peach, and natural orange More info very soon!
  17. they are based off the asian food of konjaku, which is somewhat of a terror to children in asian countries, known for its slimy texture and horrid taste.
  18. during your first fe months i recommend cardio cardio cardio. then add in your strength training. Simplest exercise routine, is, Monday wed fri back and biceps, tue, thur sat chest and triceps. cardio 5 times a week and legs/ abs every other day. But this is a total fitness plan, and im not even there yet at 8 months post op. thats a lot of time needed and a lot of equipment. so id reccomend taking that kind of schedule and altering to fit what you like and what you have available. Maybe you alternate walking mon, wed fri, and rowing tue thur sat, and arm xercises on mon wed fri and leg exercises on tue thur sat. , no matter how you do it. just do it. You know you can do this. Good luck on your journey! or just follow Jamies plan. lol
  19. Alex i normally get mine from syntrax directly, or in a pinch from The Vitamin shoppe. They have been quite gracious in supporting my journey, and sending me a lot of product, i should have the Naturals line soon, they are sending me some samples. ( they dont lsel them in packets yet, but they made some up especially for me. lol, i guess being thier inaugural transformations model had a few perks to it. But that being said you can bet i will purchase through the BP store going forward. P.S> if you have a chance to get the gugabolic, product, ( supplement) please do, ill order it through you, it comes highly recommended to me.
  20. i did the liquids for a day and half before, not clear liquids, just liquids, but i was on a 2/3 liquid diet for two weeks prior anyway so it wasnt tough. But please check with your surgeon's office. its the best way to avoid pitfalls.
  21. From what i understand you want higher fats with a bypass than with a sleeve by far. Also higher fat content in meat is not going to matter much after its cooked depending how you cook it as most fats will render out. But the best answer i can give is stick to whatever plan your'e given by your surgeon and nut.
  22. So the other day my local grocery store had a sale on Tribe brand Hummus. It was buy one get 2 free. so i loaded up a bit. and i decided to try some flavors i hadnt tried yet. So i happened to pick up one that is vine ripened tomato and basil. Well i tried it and was immediately struck with an idea. I took a Flat out brand flat bread with very low carbs ( get the skinny girl one if you can find them, if not the light work great as well.) i placed one in the oven for a few minutes on a cookie sheet, then took it out and i spead a layer of the tomato and basil hummus, on it then sprinkled it with skim mozzarella and topped with some turkey pepperoni, a little sprinkle of oregano and back in the oven for 7 minutes. and my god it was pizza heaven with 14 grams of Protein 9 grams of Fiber only about 12 carbs and less than 180 calories ( guestimate based on sizes etc. ) Totally hit my pizza cravings tooth. Try this stuff , i guarantee youll not know it isnt pizza! Enjoy!
  23. well lets see, for purees i ate sugar free Jello, sugar free pudding, scrambled eggs, canned tuna fish, mashed well, i did have some small portions of mashed potatoes even, at that point wasn't counting calories or anything. and ground beef was not allowed nor was any solid meat, even fish, it had to be shredded like tuna, But check with your surgeon and Nut, but ground beef and other meats were not allowed for me until the soft foods stage after the puree stage.
  24. Failure in the past is no indication you cant succeed in the future. Keep your head up. you can do this should you decide it is for you. I suggest counseling, it really made a difference in me, and i would never have considered doing it had it not been required.
