I have encountered a lot of other health issues which I was able to manage better because of my weight loss! I have undergone 4 other major operations since being sleeved the last was 6 weeks ago! I am back on track with a heathy weight loss goal and ready to move it! I am looking forward to 2016! I already look fabulous in my little black dress!

When your old underwear fits like tennis shorts!

For richer or poorer, in sickness & in health...
As a woman, what has worked for me is sharing and not comparing. You will have an health event that many other people will never even be able to complete and it is life changing. Now add that you get to do this with someone you love in the same house ; it is a true gift. Don't worry just work at making good food choices. Best of luck to you both!

For richer or poorer, in sickness & in health...
My husband and I are both sleeved 5 weeks apart! We have kids ages 12/13 at that time last year! To our kids we have what they call "baby bellies." We don't eat much and encourage each other constantly! It added to our already close marriage! We are blessed and happy! (Aug/Sept 2014). It is not easy being sleeved but it has been a great thing for the both of us!

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
First congrats on being a cancer survivor! Secondly you can't change what happened but know even if you weighed 1000 pounds knowbody has the right to disrespect you! You are brave and strong! Your girls are blessed to have you for a mom! Just remember to talk with them about what happen. Let them know it was nothing they could do! There are a lot of crazy people in this world! There is also a lot of love. Work on being healthy but please don't let negative people crush your being.

Feeling pretty good ????
Congratulations for starting the journey toward improving your health. I think it's great that you're looking for support early on. Continue to reach out and know that others have been where you are right now.I have been sleeved for 14 months! It's not been easy but I would never change a thing!

Frustrated
It takes time. My insurance require a six-month diet, psychological evaluation, EKG, and a general physical. The total time for this process was eight months. My doctor told me that only 40% of his patients actually reach the goal of surgery. I'm proud to be part of the 40%! My Husband and I are living our sleeved lives happily and successfully.

- Am I at goal?
You and your doctor make the best decisions about your health! Public approval can be dangerous and destructive. This is about your health and maintenance. Make sure you are in a good head space and live forward!- The beginning
Good for you! There will always be people who don't understand. That is normal and not your problem! You have gotten a tool that will help you improve your health. You did it for you and it does not matter what anybody else thinks. Congratulations and I hope you heal quickly.- Waiting for this all my life
Wow good for you! Congratulations and keep moving towards your goals. This is a new start!- Am i kidding myself?
It gets better! Sip, sip, sip, heal and walk. This is the start of a new life!- Feeling depressed
Give your self some time! Like said before, it does get better.- Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
Several of my friends/family in health and fitness told me the same thing! It is a pain in the butt to have to defend my WSL lifestyle. Again, when I move it will be on a need to know bases only! I will not lie! However, I don't want to spend the next 40 plus years taking about this medical procedure unless I am getting paid. Lol- Im so miserable
You are normal! Reality is that this is a new time in your life. You get to choose what happens next. The positive is you are selecting to seek support and help which is great! Now, find away to reach your goals! The medical part is done now is the time for healing and getting healthy! This is not easy but keep it moving. Congratulations and never give up! It does get better and the sun will come up!- Well that was different
Thanks for the warnings! I often forget to drink my fluids. I am glad you all talked about this as I am starting a new job soon I don't want to be embarrassed.- Noises from stomach? LOUD?
14 months out and it is a roar at any given time! I can be in a meeting and/or in bed with my husband! I am no longer embarrassed! It is kinda funny cause I often say what was that? ???????????? - Am I at goal?
