At almost two years post-op, I have leaned not to tell most people. This is due to often finding myself in the position of having to educate health professionals and others. When I am heading to the gym after work many of my coworkers are supportive. The only know that I am working on my health. I do not think I will ever tell them about my sleeve. All my "fat" relatives are dead. I did not want to join them. I been sleeved almost two years. It is not easy. However, I have no regrets. After nothing happening for months I have started losing weight again. I workout several times a week. My golden number is 150 at 5"6' with a large frame. The hard thing is when I talk about losing 40 more pounds everyone acts like I am crazy. I generally don't talk about my surgery. I am just seen as a "health nut." I live in a new town. Guilt is a waste of emotions. I know because I was raised to feel guilty as a Roman Catholic. Lol Changing your behaviors requires, commitment and repeated new behaviors. Give yourself a break. Just don’t give up. Keep moving forward towards better health. Use the healthy map that works for your over all goals. The only thing I want to say is please remember this surgery is just a tool. For lifetime changes it will take both psychological and behavioral changes that nobody can do but you.
