  1. I'm with Barker Bariatrics in Dallas, Tx on December 30th!! My preop diet is only one week and all liquid. ????
  2. I have four girls and gained a lot of weight but always lost it all. A few years ago I started having thyroid issues and gained a lot of weight quickly! Ended up being thyroid cancer and it was removed in 2012. Although I'm on hormone replacement I've continued to gain. Now that I'm in my 40s, it's only gotten worse. It's very traumatic to never have a weight problem and suddenly be fat! I'm ready to get my old life back!!
  3. I did receive approval and surgery on Dec 30th. Only took a few days!
  4. How'd the surgery go?
  5. I'm Dec 30th as well and it's kinda weird to bring in the New Year that way, but also very appropriate. Start out 2015 on a good note! How long is your liquid diet? Mine is 1 week.
  6. 104 so soon? That's amazing!! Congrats!!
  7. My date is the 30th. Luckily my liquid diet is only seven days! Good luck!
  8. So glad you found this forum!
  9. What flavor Isopure do you have? I've heard some "not so good things" about the taste. Start my preop diet soon (mine is 1 week) and surgery on the 31st.
  10. You've come to the right place. Welcome!
  11. Found out today that mine got moved to Dec 31st because of insurance. Kinda throws off my plans but I guess it's what I asked for!
  12. My original date was Jan 7th and I was completely prepared for that. Well, after calling bcbs fep and my surgeon's office, my date was changed to Dec 31st to avoid having to meet the new year's deductible. So now I have to travel to Mississippi for Xmas with my husband and kids, fly out to teach a residency the day after Xmas, fly back to Dallas on the 30th, and check in to the hospital at 6am on the 31st!!!! So now I'm faced with a liquid diet during Xmas and 4 days in a hotel without food! Luckily it's a great hotel and I was able to call ahead to the chef regarding dietary restrictions!!! I really hope I can do this!
  13. Just learned my date is Dec 31st.
  14. Thanks! I actually got approved earlier this week!
  15. Thanks! I'm talking about the hospital stay.
  16. I have bcbs fep standard plan. If anyone else had this insurance, how much did you pay out of pocket?
  17. January 7th here and I'm in Dallas area! Was happy to see a Jan forum!
  18. There is a forum for January 2015 on this site.
  19. Great news!!! I knew it was coming! Guess we can keep each other company through recovery! Congrats again!
  20. She sure does! @ "Elode" should have a blog!
  21. Yea, that sucks. My approval only took 6 days so hopefully you won't have to wait much longer. Keep me posted!
