Surgery date changed to Dec. 31st!

My original date was Jan 7th and I was completely prepared for that. Well, after calling bcbs fep and my surgeon's office, my date was changed to Dec 31st to avoid having to meet the new year's deductible. So now I have to travel to Mississippi for Xmas with my husband and kids, fly out to teach a residency the day after Xmas, fly back to Dallas on the 30th, and check in to the hospital at 6am on the 31st!!!! So now I'm faced with a liquid diet during Xmas and 4 days in a hotel without food! Luckily it's a great hotel and I was able to call ahead to the chef regarding dietary restrictions!!! I really hope I can do this!
