    Recommendations to lose 100 lbs

Follow your doctors guidelines. No fluids when you eat, eat your protein first , no carbonation and exercise all that you can. Drink lots if water. It will come off, but don't kick yourself if you don't lose 100 in 6 months. Everyone has their own pace

    Plateau? Help!

Me too! I have only lost about 3 lbs in the last 2 months. It is so much harder when you get closer to your goal weight. Mh trainer said to do a reset. Change your workout up. Add some different things or change the sequence. As far as diet, maybe do a few liquid only days.
  3. I am 5'8 and started at 316. Sleeved in June and down 101 lbs. I want to lose about 35 more. If i was your height, I would say shoot for a final goal of 160 or 170. That may still have you in what they call the obese range, but who cares. You should always start with smaller goals. Your first 50, then 100, then to your final goal. And don't beat yourself up when you plateau, which you will! Fight through it and keep going.
  4. No regrets. I have lost 100 lbs since June and want to lose about 35 more. Weight is coming off alit more slowly now since my weight is getting where it should be. I can tolerate all foods, some better than others but of course in tiny portions. I say get the surgery if you want to. But be ready for the changes you will need to make to be successful, because surgery is not a "cure all".

    Anyone on here in Kansas?

I live just outside Lawrence. Had my sleeve done in Florida in June when I lived down there. My surgeon, Dr Ache at Suncoast Bariatrics, was awesome. Down 90 lbs so far.

    Anyone from Kansaa City area?

    I live just outside Lawrence.
  7. Well Laura, the liquid days are always the toughest. Broth always filled me up. Sugar free jello and lots of sugar free drinks except pop of course. I went to the dollar store and loaded up on different single serve drink mixes. After surgery you won't be too hungry anyway so looking for different options probably won't be a problem.

    FB group for lesbian/bi women!

Cant find the group. Any tips?
  9. Good job Sue!!! I agree about food not having the allure it once did. I am almost 4 months post op and I find I eat to live more that I live to eat now. It's all about the protein now. I find it's easier to drink protein rich fluids than to eat protein. I'm addicted to Walgreens high protein shakes. 170 calories, 25 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar. It's my go-to when I'm busy or need to catch up on protein or fluids. So happy to hear your partner is so supportive. Mine is too, but tends to forget I can't eat like I used to so it can be hard when she wants to go out and I'm just not interested. Lol. Keep up the good work!!
  10. Hi Laura! Judy from Lawrence, KS. I had my sleeve done on 6/4 when I was still living in Florida. My surgeon, Dr Robin Ache at Suncoast Bariatrics, was awesome. To date, I have lost almost 80 lbs and am no longer on BP meds. The surgery went smoothly. The biggest adjustment for me is understanding how little you can eat at a time. I have been through a 2 week plateau which is normal. Hard to believe you can plateau when you are eating 800-1000 calories a day! I got through it though. I started exercising at our local community center and loved it, especially when the weight started melting off. Just remember, this is a change for life. You can't go back like a lap bander can. You can do it!!!
