Checking in here. Procedure done on October 21, starting weight 225, current weight 207 yesterday. Those numbers include my 10 day pre - surgery liquid diet. I had a textbook experience/procedure. I am 6 days post and I'm not close to meeting my Water and Protein requirements. Yesterday I was wanting real food so bad, my stomach was actually growling. This morning I woke up before 5 am with some serious back pain. I think it's the binder I wear 24/7. Plus I quite taking all meds by Friday. Other then that everything has been great.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to keep in touch with everyone on the postop boards now that most of us are done and in a few more days the remainder of us October sleevers will be done as well.
How is everyone doing? Feel free to share any problems, suggestions, recipes that helped you get your Protein in, and any other advice you'd like to share. Ask questions, if you have them. Use this thread as you see fit, but mostly to keep in touch with everyone.
I know quite a few people went to the Facebook page. I know it's private, but I've seen cases where private information was temporarily made public on Facebook by Facebook glitches/viruses/hacks. I know there is no intention of it going public but I rather not take the risk.
So I hope to hear from you all soon!!
    Best wishes and good luck!

Update!! Surgery was on 10-23. I arrived at 5:15 am for a 7:15 am surgery. I woke up from surgery around 2. My comfort was well managed via IV meds for pain and nausea. I also had multiple injections of lovenox in my thighs. I was given morphine via my IV for pain that pretty much knocked me out. It was hard to keep up with my Water because I kept dozing off lol. I stayed overnight and almost wasn't allowed to go home the next day. I was told I wasn't drinking enough and could wind up dehydrating if taken off IV fluids. I promised to drink my 21oz cup of Water and my surgeon cut back on the pain meds to help me stay awake. He finally ok'd my discharge around 9pm. I'm doing pretty good now at home. I can feel the gas moving thru my abdominal cavity and chest. Gas-X strips have helped with that quite a bit. I learned not to drink to quickly and not to take too big of a sip. My tummy let's me know when it's too much. I do feel like my new sleeve is trying to burst thru my body. I have a bit of a bulge near one of the incisions when standing up for a while, as of its trying to push thru. I just gently massage it and it feels better.
I'm going to take it easy for the next few days. Try to learn my new sleeve and it's likes and dislikes. Focus on sipping every 2 minutes and really get a routine down.
Good luck to everyone waiting to go and happy healing for those who already went. I'll be heading over to the post op boards in the next few days.

Another thought... I have been having left side pain. So I told my husband I should finally get the pain script of Tylenol 3s filled. I said "I'll take Cooper (my dog) and walk to walgreens tomorrow to fill it" .... it's about a 2 1/2 mile walk (round trip). I like I have that mind set !!!
And TONIGHT ! Ooh Tonight ! I'm meeting up with some of my girlfriends I haven't seen in awhile. We are meeting at a bar and grill. And guess what.. I've looked at the Soups and I think I'll have a cup of the broth from the gumbo and drink some Water. I can enjoy an evening with the girls and make good choices. And yeah, I'm not going to lie, I really want the fish and chips.. but that day will come too

Going for my follow-up apt today Hope he takes me off Clear Liquids. 12 days of Clear liquids is enough. I haven't heard back on my pathology report on the gist tumor that was removed so I am scared and nervous. hoping he had the results today. He removed the tumor so worse case scenario we will have to watch to see if it comes back or aggressive approach is to go back in and do the gastric bypass.. I am ready to have soft foods. Finally getting tired of liquid's. Last day of solid food was Oct 3. I hope all our October sleeves are doing well. Keep me in the loop for contacts as I would love to continue to be a part this group if we should move locations. Thanks for listening and supporting

Okay, I'm okay with a FB Page as long as the name of the group has nothing to do with being sleeved or weight loss or anything, and it's completely private and you must be invited to join. Steph, maybe create an account that’s not your full name and use it just for that? OR, we could create a yahoo group ? I’m more of a fan of FB, but I’m also like everyone. I don’t want people to find out on my FB that I had surgery. Thoughts?

Yup, RM, I’m like you, I’ve been having lots of cravings. Today I’ve been having a terrible craving for beef. So I took a progressive light pot roast Soup, put it in my blender, added some beef broth, and blended that bad boy up until it was all liquid. Took care of the craving. For your bacon, the other day I took a bean bacon campbells Soup, added my double milk, and blended till liquified. Add some salt and pepper to that bad boy, yum !! I think I’ll do what Steph said when i want some cheese. That sounds good steph !

As far as my allergic reaction to the glue, I’m doing better. I take a benedryl at night and put benedryl cream on it during the day. It’s starting to turn from a reddish purple rash to a pink rash. The glue is coming off my incisions on the sides. I’m not too worried, those incisions look good (besides the rash).

Jen - It’s funny how most of the times our loved ones are more worried. I hope you have the best and greatest surgery tomorrow !!!

Deb - It’s great to see your post !! How are you doing now?? LOL @ gym ready! Steady nelly It’s exciting though !!

RM - I kinda felt that way too, but today everything feels better. I think we need to control our head, and let your bodies do what we are telling them to do with the food. We will lose weight. … you said it great in your post !

    Susan - Great recipes ! Thanks !!!

FIRE - CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!! Keep walking girl ! I’m so happy for you !!!!!!

Surgery is tomorrow!!! One more day of work to go. I haven't gotten my arrival time call yet, but at my last appointment I was told to expect to go first around 7:30 or so and be at the hospital around 5-5:30 am. I have to remember to do the preop scrub tonight with the special wipes and repeat in the morning. Oh and to finish packing my bag for my overnight stay.
As the actual day approaches, I'm not really nervous about it anymore. I did learn that my son was pretty nervous. (I'm a single mom with 2 boys - an 8 yr old and a 9 yr old) Yesterday I picked them up from their after school program. As we were walking out of the school I said "I have a 6:30 appt to go to so we need to hurry. You guys can stay home if you want, I shouldn't be long." My oldest son stopped dead in his tracks and turned around and hugged me. I practically tripped over him! Lol. He tried to play it off, but I caught a look of concern on his face. I asked him about it and he admitted he was kind of scared. I told him I would be fine and he can come see me right after school and do homework with me before he goes to football practice. I have had surgeries before, but I don't think any required me to stay overnight (possibly my hysterectomy, but I don't remember). I will have to reassure him again today. I don't want to wake them up super early in the morning before I go, but I think I might need to so he can at least see me and feel ok at school. I have arranged for my mom to stay at my house overnight and keep their normal schedule and routine going. She'll be dropping me off at the hospital and then taking them to school. I promised him I would be home Friday night and be there for their football games on Saturday. He such a great kid Oh and my youngest could apparently care less, he is such a typical boy! Lol!
Best wishes and prayers for those going this week!! To my surgery buddies - see you soon on the post op side!! I'll be starting a thread over there tomorrow to let everyone know how it went for me and see how things went for you.

Peek!- Did you get your ticket to work? I'm on my iPhone and they don't show up anyway. And I TOTALLY agree; this is an AWESOME group!
KimR- Whoot, Whoot! 11 pounds!! How does it feel to know they are never, ever coming back?! Also, can I come over for some delicious Soup? I promise I don't eat much haha =)
Chellede!- You are a strong woman! I promised I wouldn't weigh myself everyday, but here I am, weighing everyday. How is your allergic reaction doing? Was it to whatever glue your dr used? You might be nearing the first stall... I know for most it hits at 3 weeks, but some people I've seen on here get it much earlier. Are you counting calories? I know there is no way I can eat a whole cup of soup right now. I can only eat about 2 oz still lol. And it takes forever and a day! I know different Drs have different diet plans though. I'm 100% sure if you are sticking to whatever your plan is, you will lose the weight you want =)
Jen- Good luck tomorrow! I know you will do great!
Deb- Super glad your surgery went well!
RM- I'm also 9 days out and experiencing the same things. My weight loss this morning was only (LOL) 0.9 pounds. It's just funny for me because before when I was on a diet, I would be extremely happy with that loss for an entire week! We are getting closer and closer to the 3 week stall. That's the only thing I can thing of. We just need to keep doing our plans and *try* super hard not to get frustrated! My incisions also still are sore, especially when I stand up or bend down. My mom and friend both said their incision pain lasted about a month. I go for my post op appointment tomorrow- I will ask about it and report back!
Does anyone else think their food tastes like CRAP?! I drink a little diluted 100% fruit juice to keep my energy levels up. I loved every kind of juice before surgery, especially white grape. Now, I have to make myself drink it! Also, strained cream of mushroom soup is now the bain of my existence!
