Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet
Oh my...How do you know this? Why would you even say this? We're on the Internet. You have no clue what anyone has or has not done. You are making some strange allegations and assumptions. Basically, we must take folks at their word otherwise What's The Point ?!?! of support boards. I'm going to let this thread go, because quite frankly, it's gotten totally weird.

Encouragement needed struggling
@@svelija I get what you are saying. It does become tedious and boring eating the same things day after day. So why not look up a few bariatric friendly recipes and give them a try? I found the recipes in the blog World According to Eggface to be really good. Also, there are a number of recipes on Pinterest that work for this phase. You can also try just about any canned soup and strain it. Another tip is to make your cream of soups with fat free milk or protein enhanced milk...makes them taste better and you stay fuller longer. Hang in there! Just a few more days! ETA: if dairy is a problem can still use soy or almond milk in creamed soups.

Bathing Suits
As I'm getting closer to goal and it's beginning to heat up here in Tx, I've been thinking about bathing suits. My boobs have completely deflated so I need a suit that pushes them up and out. Plus one that hides the extra tummy skin. I've been looking at Miracle suits, but many kind of look too old. Does anyone have a better idea where I can look for a good one piece suit? That does all the above plus looks a little sexy and up to date? Any suggestions would be appreciated

HELP!
I too have a serious sweet tooth which I've learned is really an addiction to carbs. So for me, I had to tell myself that I can't handle "just a little" or "moderation" when it comes to chocolate and candy. Those are things I will not have again. I know myself and once I have one Hershey's kiss, I will rationalize for more until I've eaten to the point of guilt. It's a horrible cycle. The good news is that I no longer crave these things either.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet
@ I completely agree with @@Kindle I chose to embrace the bariatric lifestyle 6 months prior to having surgery, then followed my surgeon's required 2 week PreOp liquid diet, then the 2 week PostOp liquid diet then the rest of the PostOp stages without cheating. So while I do not think I am perfect, and yes, realize that I have issues that let my weight get out of control in the first place, I also believe that this journey sometimes requires personal responsibility and tough love. I wouldn't have become an all American athlete without it. And I certainly wouldn't be where I am today with my degrees, my job, or my health without someone telling me straight up to take responsibility for my actions at some point in my life. So I have no problem paying my version of tough love forward in the hopes that it helps someone else.

Clock ticking on making goal?
I think where we go wrong is by setting some type of deadline or projected timeframe on our own bodies. This issue follows along the same mindset some have of stalling. I too lose at a slower rate than many, but, I'm also sure that someone looking at my stats would think otherwise. Its all relative, because our journeys are so personal and different. I consciously decided early on that I wouldn't put stipulations on my journey because I don't want to set myself up for failure. I am choosing to believe that my body knows what it's doing and that as long as I follow the plan...things will work out.

Not really sure I'm happy with my gastric sleeve surgery choice
Best thing to do is contact your surgeon tomorrow for clarification. As Babbs said we all follow different instructions and don't want to give you advice that may differ from your surgeons plan. This is a small hump and can be solved with a phone call

Keeping weight loss surgery a secret
Only my husband and children know. I'm a very private person and wouldn't dream of telling others. Plus I've noticed from a few others who have had weight loss surgery at my work, who decided to make their surgeries known, that people watch their eating like a hawk. Ready to pounce and call "foul" when something "bad" is eaten. Then these same people they trusted by telling them of the WLS begin to judge them and make negative comments. My conclusions are...it's not a good idea to tell folks if you plan to eat whatever in moderation after WLS, because not only will you be judged but so will weight loss surgeries in general.

Not really sure I'm happy with my gastric sleeve surgery choice
I'm confused. Did your surgeon provide you with materials that outlined a PostOp plan? I knew prior to surgery that afterwards my diet would follow phases. Each phase lasted 2 weeks and my plan included sample menus. Phase 1=liquid diet (Protein shakes, yogurt, Soups, etc.), Phase 2=mushies/pureeds, Phase 3=soft foods, Phase 4=Whatever works (protein first) Phase 1 & 2 can get boring, so finding bariatric friendly recipes can liven things up greatly, like the blog World According to Eggface

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet
It doesn't sound like you want it enough. If so, then fight for it by ceasing the self sabotage and complying. Some people think the PreOp stage was the most challenging. Personally, after surgery has been emotionally harder for me...because there is no loop hole or going back. So if you can't handle PreOp...reconsider and truly decide if surgery is right for you.

Sleeve vs. band
I chose the sleeve because the band is no longer being performed on military bases due to the high rate of complications. Bypass was an option, but the malabsorption caused me concern.

Calcium Citrate
Yes I take calcium citrate but in a chewable form. I get them from vitamin shoppe.

Soooo excited for Valentine's Day!
I completely understand how you feel! Hubby took me to Victoria's Secret last night. He had me try on this hot pink bra & panty set. And OMG, he was in the dressing room with me! I must say that was an experience! I haven't been in VS in 20 years...when did they start allowing your man in the dressing room? I'm still blushing! Needless to say...hubby bought it all then thanked me for the gift of trying everything on in front of him

One month out (today) and I have a few questions
I take a stool softener twice a day, drink over 96 oz of fluid, and take 2 tbs of Milk of Magnesa twice daily. If I don't do one of these things, I'm horribly constipated.

how do you answer the questions from people who don't know you had wls?
I lost 60 pounds PreOp and received lots of questions about what I was doing to lose the weight. I would always answer that I follow a high protein/low carb diet with consistent exercise. After I had the sleeve done (and no one at my work knows), my coworkers just say comments like, "Wow, your lifestyle changes are really working" or they've begun asking me again about what I am doing. And I give them the same response as before.

8 wks post op still exhausted
I'm right about 8 weeks and only experienced tiredness after work a couple of times. Your exhaustion could be a number of things. Anemia being one of them. What and how many multivitamins are you taking? My dr has me on 2 multivitamins w/iron per day. You could also be low on electrolytes. Try mixing G2 with water and sipping it all day. Once you get low on these nutrients, it takes the body a few days to get your levels back up. Also, impress upon your dr the need for bloodwork. Find out where your nutrient levels are ...don't take no for an answer.

Eatting. ..
The blog World According to Eggface has a quick, simple & tasty pizza recipe that uses a low carb wheat tortilla as the base. I made it using low carb tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms. You can put whatever you want on yours. It was AWESOME!!! And I ate my 2 slices while my family ate their Papa Johns . I totally did not miss the regular pizza.

Ugh sweets
I can satisfy my sweet tooth with my evening cinnamon spice tea (decaf) with a splash of chocolate milk. If that doesn't hit the spot, then a 1/4 of a Lenny & Larrys protein vegan cookie.
