MarieMarie got a reaction from erika00000 in What was your start weight & why lap-band?
I hadn't weighed myself in years. I was scared of any major stomach surgery. When I heard of the slimband, I knew it was for me. The weight loss is slow and steady. My pre op was 297 and I had probably lost some in the previous weeks

MarieMarie got a reaction from Leepers in Yummy now--No Way before WLS
Water instead of diet coke. I really couldn't understand people that drank water all the time

MarieMarie got a reaction from Alex Brecher in What Is (or Was) Holding You Back from Weight Loss Surgery?
ALL of the above. I actually almost had to sneak away to get my lapband. I haven't even admitted to it with my family or closest friends

MarieMarie got a reaction from JustWatchMe in One year -- then and now
Congrats and thank you for sharing. Having chosen the slow route to wls with banding myself. I sometimes feel discouraged as the weight doesn't drop off. I have to work hard for every pound

You know you've had WLS when..... You freely discuss your BMs with strangers on the internet. ????

My kids and I just adopted Ozzy two days ago!

MarieMarie reacted to Weightogo123 in So...I'm new here...
I had no chose but to go with the lap band, since I didn't want any of my insides removed. All I can tell you is I'm in love with my band. Good Luck on your journey and may you have continued success.
We are all here for you!!

Yesterday I taught myself a lesson. Leave my desk at work. Take the time to eat a relaxed meal.

MarieMarie got a reaction from Debbie3sons in Banded yesterday????
I had a medium hernia repair with my band. Tried to work two weeks post op. Went home for another week and felt great. Lots of walking. No lifting. 8 weeks post op now.

MarieMarie got a reaction from JustWatchMe in SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE
I worked so hard in September. My weight is going down 1.5 or 2 a week. I don't want to complain as it is heading in the right direction

MarieMarie reacted to JustWatchMe in How did you document your weight loss journey?
I didn't take before pictures but I kind of wish I had.
I just post here. I also keep a little electronic note of dates and weight. Also dates and fills and fill level.
I use MyFitnessPal and FitBit but I don't blog there.
Good luck !

Fitbit. It tracks calories, sleep, weight, steps, Water etc. I love it. It has helped me be accountable

MarieMarie reacted to 2muchfun in HELP NEED INPUT PLEASE!
That is odd. You might want to demand a X-Ray(fluoroscope) to see if the tube is misplaced or if the port is hung up on something?

MarieMarie got a reaction from intelirish in Is anyone having success and enjoying their banded life?
The NSV's are important as my weight loss is very slow. My daughter doesn't know about the band. I see her watching my shrinking body and hoping I don't fit into her jeans one day. Wink! Wink! We shall see

MarieMarie got a reaction from Debbie3sons in Fills: What's your "green zone"?
I am 6 weeks post op and not allowed a fill until end of September. First available date is Oct 6 in this area. I have 4 cc in my band. I need to watch what I eat until I can get fills. I am healing my body first. Ensuring I drink lots of Water and getting in my steps per day. The band is a tool.

MarieMarie reacted to pink dahlia in Surgery went well today
Congratulations !! Welcome to the other side ! Glad to hear that all is well. As far a pain meds go, I think they were disgusting too !! If I remember right I took liquid Tylenol if needed after the 2nd day. I don't remember being in alot of pain, just really sore on the left side. Hopefully as you rest and walk for the next few days you'll feel better. Stay strong ! You got this !!

MarieMarie got a reaction from Lap_Band_Evelyn in What other people think!
I fully realize now that there are a lot of jealous people that would gladly sabotage my journey. My mother being my worst critic. She has always put me down. Now that she has gained weight, she is very scared of me weighing less than her. My solution is to discuss anything with her accept weight. She knows I will change the subject. I visited two days in a row with a totally new hair do which was very flattering and she refused to notice. I am doing this for me and not her.

MarieMarie reacted to katesuccess in Generalized mid-upper Back Pain?
Good thoughts - thanks. I too wear good supportive shoes at all times, and have always been big busted so wear a really good bra. However, my weight loss has also been decreasing my bust size, and maybe the difference is part of the issue with my back, and I know I need a new bra too. I'd not even thought about that possibility, but will get one and see if it helps. Thanks!
