ElectricBoogaloo got a reaction from GreenTealael in Sophomoreville - A Home For The the Tweeners
I will have an arm lift. My arms have always been on the fuller side and I have never liked them. I now have sagging skin, so it must go! The one issue that I have is that my forearms are proportioned to the current size of my upper arms. I am concerned that my arms might look weird and misformed. I haven't explored how that would be addressed with reducing the size of my upper arms.
At the same time, I will have a breast reduction/lift! Right now I am rolling my boobs up and stuffing them in my brassiere. YIKES! Not a good look! 😂😳 I figure if they can push all the remaining tissue in these two potato sacks up, there will be enough to sit just right!
Could use an inner thigh lift, but have heard such horror stories about recovery and infections that I am not sure if I would go that route. I don't wear shorts anyway, so it wouldn't matter.
Would consider a Tummy Tuck to remove stretch marks from pregnancy. They only formed below my belly button, so it could be fairly easy to cut enough skin away to remove them. Without the stretch marks, I am actually happy with how the skin on my stomach retracts when I lose weight.
My chin is showing its age and its double chin/not double chin/double chin (rinse, repeat) status. I don't need to address this now, but maybe later in life if I start to look like turkey neck.

Are any of you considering skin surgery? I know we're still pretty early for it, and we all likely have more to lose, but... I don't know, I don't mind how I look right now. It all looks fine in clothing and it's not like I strip off a hell of a lot. Is anyone experiencing the sort of skin issue where it's actually inhibiting yet?

Oh, I like this topic of the day! I've spent a lot of time thinking about PS!
I'm definitely going to do plastics. I knew when I decided to have WLS that just losing the weight wouldn't be enough for me, and I'd want to look the best that I can. I had actually intended to have surgery a few weeks ago. But work travel schedule interfered with that. I won't have another break until this time next year. I already gave my boss the heads up, and I have his support to stay off the road through the holiday season next year.
I agree, I am actually less unhappy about the way I look then I expected. I'm pretty damn happy with the way I look in clothes. The only thing I can't wear, but want to, are sheath or body con dresses (You totally can, which is awesome!) And actually even without clothes, it's better than I expected. It helps I'm dating someone steadily now, who is super complimentary. So I don't have the anxiety of a lot of first time seeing me naked situations.
Here are the procedures I want
Tummy Tuck - I want a flat stomach for the first time in my life. The sag isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I'll be happier when it's gone. It will also allow me to wear a broader range of clothes that don't have to disguise the tummy. I'm hoping I won't have to do muscle repair, since I've never had kids. But apparently we won't know until I'm opened up.
Breast Augmentation and Lift - I'm most surprised and pleased with how my boobs have ended up. I've done from DD to a C. But they're retained a nice shape. I really miss the fullness of my old breasts though. I don't mind how they look, but I dislike how they feel, if that makes sense. My implants will definitely be Gummy bear, tear drop shaped. I can't stand porn star breasts, so they have to be natural looking, or I'll hate them.
Arm Lift - I wasn't expecting as much flabby skin on my arms as I have. I'll need an arm lift. But I really really want it to be a minimal incision left, not the extended kind. I'm pretty anxious the surgeons will tell me to get good results I'll need a longer incision.
Thigh Lift - My thighs look like old man's balls, ugh! They are also worse than I had anticipated. This is the procedure I'm most afraid of, both pain wise, and risk of complications, poor results. It is a pretty tricky procedure with a long painful recovery. Again, like my arms I really only want an inner thigh lift, without the extended incisions down my thighs. I'm also anxious to hear opinions on what type of results can be achieved with only a crescent type lift.
Lipo - To go along with the body procedures. I'd especially like the fat sucked out of my back and flanks, in addition to anywhere else the Dr is willing to Hoover.
Neck Lift - This I did not anticipate at all. But in selfies now, my neck is so old a crepe-y looking. So it has been added to the list ... sigh
The bad news is, with all those procedures, It will most likely be 2 for the body, and then one for the neck. And probably a different surgeon for the facial (neck) work, than the body procedures. I have no idea how I'm going to get that kind of time off from traveling
    What is everyone else thinking?

I think my issues are mostly so "squirrelly" that they would just confuse other people. Like being afraid to try solid foods after being on liquids/soups for 9 months. And having to drink with meals, and having an anorexic string bean of a sleeve instead of a banana, etc. You guys already know I'm weird 😉

^^^^This! This!!!^^^^ Same exact thing here!!! A million times. I just have to stick to my portion that I weigh and measure out each time! But um, it's "mature pouch" servings--not necessarily "bari".

I only ever felt real restriction with certain foods, I learned to stop by portion size.
If I eat a raw carrot, broccoli, cabbage, I feel restriction. Poultry, fish and red meat depending in density and preparation, I will feel restriction.
I had to pay attention to time (eat for less than 15-20 minutes) and bari-servings.
I Never got the sniffles, sneezes, it any other signal of near fullness. Just the oh no, I'm overfilled sensation. No bueno.

So this is exactly like I feel with my RNY. I'm thinking that as you progress out a couple of months you will begin to feel greater restriction. You may never feel restriction from Pasta, rice, quinoa, etc + all cracker/chip/shenanigans. You will likely feel restriction on solid/dense/dry-sauce free meats, seafood, etc. And al dente veg will probably also fill you up as well.
I also think though, that part of drinking while eating (because it's necessary for your esophagus stuff) is gonna pose an extra challenge for you. It means you will be able to eat more cuz it's pushing stuff through your pouch and stoma by making a slurry in your pouch. So you will just have to have a game plan to keep to really super low/healthy stuff most of the time since you will likely be able to eat more. Or you could try to back off of the drinking by tiny amounts and see how it goes?
Congrats on being close to goal girl!!

Do you know when the last time was that I saw a display on a scale that DIDN'T have the number "2" in it?
    Eighteen years ago. Dear god.

And great idea for a thread - I was beginning to feel a little out of place, not a newbie but not a vet.

Isn't it funny everyone has heard 8 glasses of Water a day thier whole life, and even Dr.'s repeat it. But with no real (current?) research to back it up.

Per my cardiologist, the 64 oz. was the result of a single study, and used people who worked both indoors and out in the heat. That's why he doesn't hold to it.

I would probably be considered a hybrid, too. Lap band in 2014, conversion to sleeve 10/10/18.
I didn't have Hair loss with the band, but am concerned with the sleeve. I am locked, so losing locs would be weird for re-growth because there would many baby locs with long, mature locs. I have over 500, so I should be able to hide it, if it occurs (not if the locs fall out in the front😒, YIKES!). I have been taking Biotin and trying to swallow the L-lysine horse pills, but it is definitely a challenge. Even when I cut them in half, it is difficult. They get stuck and scratch going down. I am successful with 500mg 3-4 times a week. I hope these attempts are helping!
