  1. @@jjinWA Same here I add either a bit of spinach or kale to my Protein shake to up the nutrients. I bought a Ninja back in April and I use it almost everyday twice a day!
  2. I change the water a bit and add some Toriani sugar free syrup to make a flavored peanut butter. I add to protein shakes, pudding, etc to up the protein.
  3. @@juliedishman I add chocolate Protein powder (or whatever flavor) to my decaf coffee. To keep it from clumping I mix once scoop with about 2 oz. of soy milk in my Ninja the night before then pour it into my Keurig coffee in the morning. It's how I start everyday now!
  4. @@sandisleeve Awesome!! You look fantastic! Thanks for sharing!!
  5. I am loving the different combos of Protein pudding I am making with sugar free pudding and different flavors of Protein Powder. I actually use soy milk and it sets pretty good.
  6. @@CheleLynn45 Sounds delish! I was looking for a good recipe for ricotta. Thanks for sharing!!
  7. @@Bufflehead Excellent combos. I'm definitely going to try some of these soon!
  8. Also try this website if you haven't already. http://www.theclymb.com
  9. For the first 4 months I pretty much just stuck to walking. Now, I recently joined a gym and either exercise in the morning or later afternoon. When I exercise in the morning I drink a "Protein coffee" about 45 minutes prior and have a high protein breakfast after I'm done. In the late afternoon I try to time it so when I'm done it is time for dinner. So far, I only have lunch prior to that but I might have to change it and add a protein snack before I workout.
  10. For the first 4 months after surgery I just stuck to walking. Recently I joined a gym and started working out with a trainer and I'm doing pretty much everything. Hopefully with the added exercise I be able to tone as I lose some more. Best of luck!!
  11. @@NicoleSW Your story is too funny! I had a mini pity party for myself on day 4 post-op. It was the first day that I was back in my own home on my own and I had a few friends that wanted to stop by for a visit. On the way, they said they were stopping to pick up food and asked me what I wanted! Duh! I just had weight loss surgery, I don't want anything from McDonalds!!! I don't think they understood the procedure that I had and the plan I was on now. It does get better! I use Pinterest all time for recipe ideas and tweak them a bit to suit my tastes. One of the big benefits of this journey is that I started cooking a lot. Best of luck on the next phases. I really hope you have an easier time transitioning through all of the food stages.
  12. Great idea! I'm 4 months post RNY and I stick to a low carb high Protein diet, Would love to share some ideas. Some of my favorites are: a protein pudding made with soy milk a Greek yogurt sauce for either chicken or turkey sugar free homemade ice cream crock pot chicken and mushrooms
  13. I try to weigh myself about once a month or so at the same scale - the one at my doctor's office. That is where I recorded my official starting weight and I use that scale. I'll try to pop in the office even if I don't have an appointment just to weigh in. I really focus on sticking to the plan, eating right, and exercising. I feel if I do these things the weight will come off.
  14. It has been 4 months to the date since my surgery. While at the gym this morning I weighed myself - 95 lbs. lost since surgery! I feel so much better It would have been really great to hit the 100 lb. mark at 4 months but who's complaining. The support I get from family and friends, and especially here has been awesome. Here's to the next 4 months!!!
  15. I think the only calories I got at that stage was from my Protein drinks (probably only 2 full ones a day). For the first several weeks I focused on Water, Vitamins, protein, and calories, in that order. It will definitely get easier to get the protein and the calories in daily. Best of luck!
  16. I had 6 and no drain. RNY Best of luck!!
  17. I don't remember the pain medicine that was given in the hospital. I know that I only needed one dose that they gave directly after surgery. Walking was my pain medicine. The only pain I had was from the gas associated with they surgery and the walking really helped.
  18. I tried Celebrate Vitamins and the calcium citrate chews in the pas but have switched, with my doctor's permission to Centrium chewable multi Vitamin and a calcium citrate capsule that I found at Vitamin Shoppe. I couldn't be happier with the taste of the multi and the price of the calcium. Added bonus, I can just run to the store to get either, I don't need to order.
  19. Days 3 and 4 were the hardest for me. I know this will be TMI, but not being able to have a bowel movement was REALLY bad. It did get better after day 4. You got this - drink up! I mean Water. lol
  20. I am 4 months out post RNY surgery and have been out to dinner/lunch a handful of times. My "go to" meal is a grilled chicken salad. I know, pretty boring, but you can usually get in anywhere including fast food restaurants. I always get the chicken and the dressing on the side. I start with the chicken then have a few bites of salad and take the rest home for someone else. I really try to just stick to eating at home but sometimes I'm not able to do so. Best of luck!
  21. I don't feel as though I am on a diet. I have made a lifestyle change regarding my diet and exercise and plan to stick with it. I don't feel like I'm "normal". Whether I had a food addiction, or laziness, or slow metabolism, etc., I had to change my ways. The surgery is a tool. I didn't go through the process to eat the same way I did before just in smaller amounts. I had the surgery as a stepping stone to reboot my life. I am no expert but I think WLS patients lose the most during the first 3 months, 6 months, 9 months so I am trying to get the "most bang for my buck" and stick to the plan. I mean that literally since I paid for the surgery myself. Now that's not to say that I haven't gone out and had a small (I mean really small!!) piece of pizza, or a cocktail ( I know, we are not supposed to have alcohol within the first year but I figured one vodka and water- no high sugar mixes- wouldn't hurt). I read all of my food labels and rarely go out to eat anymore. The savings in my pocketbook is a huge bonus too! Best of luck!!
  22. You rock! Truly an inspiration!! Thank you for sharing and keeping me motivated!!!!
