  2. I usually only weigh myself at my doctor appointments, which up to this point have been about every month between my PCP and surgery center. So yesterday I started back to the gym and knew that they would weigh and take measurements. I weighed myself in the morning on my home scale but knew it wasn't accurate. I was weighed in the afternoon and the gym, then again this morning at my doctor office (PCP). Three weigh-ins within 24 hours and 3 different weights! 2 of them were 10 lbs. apart! Not really a big deal, I try not to stress out about weighing myself, but trying to get an accurate reading from time to time. I'll go with the lowest weight and go with it!! lol
  3. Amazing!!! You rock! Looking forward to posting my pics in the future. Excellent job!
  4. @@DarthVixen Keep us posted. They are on my shopping list for Sunday. I was going to line a few muffin tins with them and add chicken and taco seasoning and a bit of cheese and bake them one night next week. The only problem is I can only eat one and they might not be good the next day. We will see.
  5. I started back to the gym this week and had my first session with my personal trainer today. Thinks went really well. We are set to meet weekly at least through the end of the year. Looking forward to my next session. Since I rarely go out to restaurants anymore, I'm able to afford the trainer! That's a win win!!

  7. I've have seen a lot of members add different things to the bottom of their ticker, quotes, websites, progress recaps, etc and am wondering how this is done. I must me missing something.
  8. Best of luck to everyone! You got this!!! RNY July 2014
  9. I use Fitbit dashboard to log my food and water and count my steps. I like the fact that I can track my protein intake.
  10. I gave up caffeine back in April. Never much of a coffee drinker, but I could put away a few Diet Cokes! I was told the carbonation could stretch out my pouch. I don't even miss it!
  11. @@Ginger Snaps Thank you! I used to go the gym all of the time when I was In my 30's. Now in my 40's, I need to dust off these old bones and get back to it! Slow and easy to start! Side note to everyone - all of the posts here and across the forums are really helpful to all of us. Thanks to everyone, hopefully we inspire each other to keep moving forward!!!
  12. I had RNY in July through My New Self and am doing pretty good. I have yet to attend a support group but was hoping to find a good one to attend.
  13. NSV for this week is that I joined a gym! First training session is this afternoon! Wish me luck!!!
  14. Best of luck!!! You got this!!!
  15. Sounds delicious! I make a version of this with Greek yogurt and either spicy southwestern mustard or hot wing sauce and put in on chicken. Tastes delicious and makes it easier to eat.
  16. Best of luck!!! You got this!!!
  17. Congrats!!! Truly inspiring!!!
  18. The decision for surgery is personal for all of us. What is right for one may not be right for the other. I chose RNY because I thought it would give me the best results based on the amount of weight I needed to loose. Whichever surgery you choose will be the right one for you. Best of luck!
  19. I usually exercise in the late afternoons during the week and in the morning on weekends. I'm excited, I just rejoined a gym today!
  20. I read every food label! It sometimes takes me over an hour to grocery shop for just 5 items. I rarely go out to eat anymore. Absolutely no soda No more wine! I used to love a nice glass of red wine every now and then No pasta- I'm Italian!! These are just a few changes post-op. I don't feel like I'm missing anything either! Best of luck!!
  21. Way to go! Keep up the awesome work!!
  22. Congrats! Glad you are feeling good!
  23. Speaking of boots. I also bought my first pair of Uggs last week. Even though they are the short boots I didn't think I would be able to wear those prior to surgery. Baby steps!!
  24. Anyone in St Louis, Missouri! Do you attend support group meetings? If so, which group? Do you find them helpful?
  25. For me, I recently took a trip and was able to fly without a seat belt extender. In fact, I really had to tighten up the seat belt. This is really big for me because I love to travel but I always had anxiety about flying. Now I have 3 more trips planned over the next 6 months. My treat to myself for my weight loss. The money I am saving by rarely eating out has made this possible! I guess that is 2 NSVs!
