    Eating vs. Nibbling

I agree with Kindle, I don't want to be on any diet anymore. Though I need to find my balance, I like that my doctor encouraged me to eat on fix hours so I can plan on the quantity of water which I tend to forget to drink especially while working (I drink at least half a liter between meals) then I can meet my water requirement. I do not have plan for every meal, too much work!! but I'm more careful with the choices I'm having for each meal. Eating protein first, following by vegetable helps a lot, yesterday I ordered grilled chicken, veggies and some fried noodle (because I wanted to eat noodle) but turned out I was full before touching the noodles and satisfied (because I ordered it). I'm pretty much on auto-pilot now for what should I eat, which is I like the most for my life post Sleeve.

    So sad about Hair Loss

I'm far worse than you because I didn't have lots of hair to begin with and when I reached month 4 the bald spot was obvious especially when my head is wet so I bought a topper hairpiece to cover it. Now my hairs started to grow back but it's still too thin on the top so I'm still hanging on my topper which I'm now very comfortable with. I kinda like it as it makes my hairs look a lot fuller than my real hair before losing weight, women wear wigs/ extension hairs all the time, so I'm ok with it. Hang in there, your beautiful hairs will grow back.

    Eating vs. Nibbling

I eat 4 times a day and for each meal I take 45 minutes to eat (except breakfast & afternoon snack could be 20-30 minutes). My doctor told me to eat on fix hours on 8 am, 1 pm, 4 pm and 8pm.

    Yoga's harder than it looks!

I remember the first class of Body Balance I attended (it's a mix of Yoga & Pilates) four months ago and Boy! I just had a very cardio dancing class before but the yoga was a real torture for me! I kept going to the torture class oops yoga class once a week anyway though and it got better and better because my body is so flexible now. And just last Wednesday after the class I just realized that wow it relaxed my whole body, like I just had a full body massage and it felt soooooo great! Love it!

  10. @@Bellarose100 Thank you. That outfit is actually the mix of the old jacket (from Zara) I bought years ago and couldn't wear for so long time and matched with the tunic top which is now too large and turned to be a dress. that's why the red belt came in to complete the outfit hehe.

Happy 5th month surgiversary to the 7 July 2014 sleevers!
  13. Hi! Today is my 5th month surgiversary so I wish to share my progress with you all on this site, as you are my support and inpirations in the past 7 months (since pre-op). I'm now so happy that my weight is under 70 kg (154 lbs) which as I barely remember when I was this light.. probably 10 years ago! My surgeon required me to lose 43 lbs more so it's still a long way to go. Thank you for your kind support and tips you all posted on this site which have helped me a lot through this journey.
  14. Happy 5 Months Surgiversary all 7/7/2014 Sleevers! Hope you all are doing great!

  15. My surgeon didn't require for any weight lost before surgery, he set the date of surgery around 2 months after the first appointment. During those two months I did the hell lot of the research on life after gastric sleeve (of course this site is one of my useful resources) and I decided to try if I could live with it. So I followed the low carb diet, drank a lot of water, no alcohols, no soda, no sweets (except with my coffee in the morning), ate a pound of vegetable per day and I lost 13 lbs! during those two months post-op. That's how I knew I was ready to commit myself to the life after gastric sleeve.

    Who did you tell?

I just told open-minded people, just last Friday I went to lunch with a colleague. He noticed that I ate so liitle so I just simply told him that I cannot eat a lot because I had a surgery. He acknowledged the news and didn't have any question or comment. I think I made the right decision telling this guy lol. For some people I just don't feel like to share anything personal. I guess I just go with my instinct.

How do you guys eat out...

I'll be 5 months out in a week and so far I eat pretty much everything, my doctor told me I should eat everything but watch out for the size of the portion. When I order, my choice will go first by the protein then vegetable, I don't mind the carbs because I always eat them the last which I cannot eat a lot of them anyway. The most important thing is I have to take small bit, chew well es and eat very very very slowly.
  20. Hahaha this is so good! Gosh!! You wouldn't believe how relieved I was when you said just kidding phewww!
  21. I was a thin girl (sometimes too skinny) until the age of 26 then the genes from my mother started working, my metabolism slowed down and I think it finally died or was on strike a few years ago. I love good food but I never addicted to it, I could not eat between meals like I used to when I was younger and I never really over ate but it happened sometimes with some dishes I really liked. I'm not a sweet eater, not the fan of fried food, nor Junk food but I loved the coca cola but only share a can of cola with a friend at lunch not substituted it for Water. I think that apart from the genetic, it's the choice of food and life style that caused obesity. I never liked exercising and I loved all the carbs (rice, noodle, Pasta etc you name it). Mixing the carb with no exercise and my mum's genes = total disaster.

What Causes Appetite Loss after WLS?

I lost my appetite Big Time! Probably it's different for everyone. I trained myself before surgery by eating clean and low carb for 2 months pre-op without any requirement from my surgeon and now I have almost zero interest in food. I'd still love to eat delicious food but nothing really pleases me and I'm ok with it. Only have to eat 4 times a day for living.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

Today is my 4 months anniversary woohoo! I also had a check up with my surgeon, he was satisfied with overall results. I've lost total 69.5 lbs and 51.48 lbs since surgery. He prescribed Calcium, zinc and Vitamin B5 for my hair because I lost a lot!!!! He said it will grow back (I hope so). Other than that I'll have to continue on Omeprazole for 3 months, then do the blood work again. I'll be on a trip tomorrow and quite afraid to be freezing cold on the plane because get cold so easily lately. And I told him that I'm worried that I eat so little lately he just said I have to eat 4 times a day even I'm not hungry. My blood work was good except for colesterol that a bit high but he said it's the body that produces the fat itself not because of what I eat because I haven't been eating a lot to cause colesteral. If it's not improved next time he will prescribe me something to get it controled. That's pretty much it for the 4 months report :-) happy losing weight all July sleevers!!!
