WOW! What an inspiration you are. Doing those pull ups and lifting your body weight that you lost in 1 year is remarkable. You look so different and getting down to the point where you can wear clothing in the 1X to 2X range is so exciting.
I have lost a huge amount (over 160 pounds) on my own over many many years, but now I am waiting for the WLS to help me with losing the rest and being able to walk again. I checked the friends block so I can follow your progress. Keep going strong and you will get to that goal!

Congratulations on the progress you are making, both in health and in life. It is a great feeling to be in control of our lives again, isn't it? My trainer tells me that I need to change things up once I start to stall. Good luck.

Sometimes it is nice to buy something new and fabulous - I got this Kensie dress that makes me so happy. Enjoy it while you can and move on. But yeah, I get what you mean. Normally everything I get is from Ross or the clearance rack (Like, $95 pants for $16 clearance). Or basics from Old Navy.
Congrats on crossing the century mark in weight lost!

I am sorry to hear that your mom is working to help sabotage your progress. It definitely is not easy to do, and having someone who is trying to hold you back like that must be really discouraging. I'm here, anytime you need to chat.

I feel your pain girl. I've lost over 100 lbs in seven months and I'm still a size 18 in pants. But keep things in perspective. I was 312 lbs. A size 28 before. And I'm still losing. Able to do so much more. Diabetes is in remission. And I no longer feel like the fattest fat person riding the CTA here in Chicago. So every time you feel like comparing, take a mental list of all your accomplishments from big like your 5k to small like needing to get your rings sized - or whatever they may be! Your journey is your own, your body is your own. Learn to love both of them!

    Hi Trace,
Well, I'm happy to post that the stall has ended. Don't know if my body just needed to adjust to the rapid losses and not hold calories in fear of starvation or what, but finally! Lost 8 more pounds.
I eat very low fat, 75-100g protein. Maybe 40-60 g carbs depending on the day (really avoiding the non-complex carbs). About 40 mins cardio and 20 mins weights each day. Friend just told me about Tabata - ouch!
And, yes I was losing inches.. I could tell. I shouldn't be so obsessed with the scale, but well, it does tell the tale, so... The big "catch-up" loss was last week so I'm hoping this week will be at least 2-3 and I can stay on a steady loss pattern for a while.

I am with you totally.. I was dreading the all liquids phase and to be honest it was the easiest part of my preoop although it was on a weekend when i was busy doing finals. I cried and weeped alot the last week, everything seemed to make me want to cry. I also have been wanting to have surgery to correct myself, and in fact could not get it because of exclusions all my working life, until my hubby had started a new job. I just had my surgery Monday, and now being out of the hospital and home for a whopping 6 hours I feel like myself only without a food addiction. I am now able to think, and not just for my stomach! I think I was coming to close of my life, where I knew I wanted a change and it was finally going to happen for the first time and also grieving the loss of what could have beens...

i'm just three days out of surgery, and I can't even drink all the liquid that is required. i been having headaches these past two days. I guess it's with drawl from everything lol. i was never told to do a liquid diet before surgery. I wonder why my surgeon never told me too ? I wish the best for you both. It's been only three days and i'm a grumpy whiny brat.

Everyone relax. Most people have these same experiences and feelings. If it was as easy as sticking to a diet and never cheating, none of us would have ever needed the surgery. If you can stick to your pre surgery diet and exercise it will enhance your overall success and jump start your weight loss. Just do the best you can and stop beating yourself up. Drink your water and try to drink some protein drinks so you develop a taste for them and start walking every day. The rest will take care of itself. Wishing you all luck with a successful surgery and an easy time of healing. See you on your losers bench.

I think you are doing great! Just wondering do you have to have the shake they gave you? My shake is Premiere chocolate which has 30 grams of protein,
I heard if you up your protein that should curb your appetite also drink at least 64 oz of water. I use crystal light and add protein (unjury unflavored) to my water for added protein,
Check with your doctor first. I had my RNY on 7/16 and fee great. Went to my doctor for the two week post op and lost 6 inches overall. My incisions are completely healed and I'm clear to go swimming again.
I heard the more protein you take in the better you'll heal after.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Good Luck with your journey. My surgery was on May 8th. And it seemed to take forever to get the surgery date. I started my journey on Jan 14th. But everything has to be followed before surgery, including the pre weight loss diet. So hang in there! To date, with the before diet and after surgery, I have lost 46lbs. So Good Luck!
