  1. Can confirm that nice bourbon goes down mighty fine.
  2. Yeah man you look 15 years younger. Congrats!!
  3. I am one month out from surgery and a couple of days ago I got into a situation where socially I was pressured to have a beer. It went down slowly but fine. My friend made a comment about how slow I was drinking and that I didn't have another. So I anticipate being able to drink beer, just not as much or as quickly as I used to. I figure that I will gravitate towards the less carbonated beers like stouts. I also anticipate being more inclined to drink bourbon and other hard spirits. I had some grappa yesterday and that went down very well. I used to be a big drinker, so I figure I won't be able to drink as much and that is certainly not a bad thing. But as the same time, if I want to have a session and get crazy with the boys, I will be able to drink scotch and bourbon and do shots.

    June 30th Surgery Date

Hi friends. Yeah I am down 26lbs so far. I am really craving normal food. Not so much that I am hungry - more I just want to participate with my family and live like a normal person. I feel like I am on a really tough diet right now. I have been low energy, so I am going to get vitamins tomorrow. Otherwise all is good! Clothes are fitting well. I exercised today and that felt good.

    June 30th Surgery Date

Hi folks. I was sleeved on 06/30. SW 316. I have been stalled out at 296 for the last 5 days now, but I'm not sweating it. I am really really sick of the liquid diet though. It's easy to adhere to when I'm at work...but when I get home around the family in the evening, it's torture. My docs plan has me liquid up to day 28 and then days 28-42 on purée. So the last few days I have snuck a couple of bites of soft foods in. I had a bite of pizza last night and learned my lesson on that one - it did not sit well at all. I also was having bad stomach cramps, but started taking a PPI and that helped immensely. So otherwise doing well!
  6. I am two weeks post op and i have not found that the surgery has reduced my desire to eat emotionally...yet. But, I can see that because of the restriction I just won't be physically able to eat like I used to...so my brain has to move on, and that will take some time. Everyday it seems to get a little easier.
  7. What's a 5 day pouch test?
  8. Hi folks, I was sleeved last Monday, have lost 20lbs since. For the last 3 days I have been rabidly hungry. I can't stand it. Granted, I drink some Protein or some Water and I am full for maybe 2 or 3 hours...but then it comes back. I am really worried that I am going to eat something that hurts my healing stomach. I just a a finger nail sized piece of pickle - it's tiny and I chewed it up, but still that is not on the liquid only diet I am supposed to followed for the next month. My stomach is hungry - it feels like hunger pains. I feel like I am on a massive diet - really tired at the end of the day and HANGRY. Does this get better? Or is this just something I have to manage going forward? I just don't think I will be able to make it a month on water and Protein drinks. Help!
  9. Yeah I have to think that if I lose 100lbs then I won't have the sleep apnea anymore. I mean - I didn't have it when I was skinny! But my plan will be to... 1) lose the ding dong 100 2) get a sleep study done again I want to get the sleep study just to be sure. That being said - my spouse is very sensitive to my night time buffalo noises, so she will be able to tell!
  10. Hi I'm wondering if anyone here has lost enough weight to ditch the CPAP? How did you know it was time? How much weight did you lose? How much do you LOVE not having the CPAP anymore??
