26 days till my new life begins

Thanks for the advice. I hope getting to wear normal clothes and being able to do the things I haven't been able to do in forever helps with the mental part.
  5. I'm right there with you. So know that your not alone and know that your part of a majority and not a minority. There are a multitude Of people living lives the same as you. We are looked down on as less than human at times. But I say look at me. See me. I am here feeling, crying, hurting just like you. My clothes may be bigger but I put them on just like you. I go to work everyday, I clean my house everyday. I go for walks, I shop, I spend money and pay bills just like you. So I say don't look at me look at yourself. Don't judge me judge yourself, because you know what, God loves me just as much as he loves you and sees nothing but beauty. What does he see when he looks at you. Take that you mean, poorly raised, ignorant people who make fun of any other human being because they are different than you. So Ms.keep your head held high and full steam ahead because were gonna rock this WLS ship. Kim

    NEWBIES..... LETS STICK TOGETHER

My surgery is July 30. Will start my pre-op diet on the 17th. Emotions are scared, happy, sad, excited.
  7. Hi out there in WLS land. I'm so looking forward to becoming a new resident. I hope your all nice neighbors, although I do understand that there is always one @$)(:&@@. My surgery date is July 30th. I'm 54 years old and a RN. So that just makes me to smart for my own good. I have to say though that reading all your post has made me feel a lot better. So here is my question. What do I need to pack for my trip to WLS land? And what do I need to expect after becoming a new neighbor. I would assume Cookies at the door won't be happening! Honestly, I'm scared but determined. So many years wasted. I am 5'9 and weigh 256lbs. I have Type I I DM, HTN, Restless leg syndrome, scarcoid granuloma, and take a butt load of meds. Can anyone out there tell me about some of their illnesses that have been cured or are doing much better since gastric bypass. Kim
