  1. Sorry, I can't make the 3rd or 4th. I am working both nights. I hope everyone has a great time!
  2. We meet at the Red Robin at Arapahoe and I-25. Snowgator and Julie, I need to check my schedule at work tonight. I'm in the middle of moving, so I'm insanely busy! I'd love to meet up with everyone. I saw Rene and Theresa at the retirement party - along with John and it was so nice! Rene looks super beautiful! Theresa is so looking really good! We enjoyed a really nice visit AND we ate some cake too! I know, naughty! BUT so good! I always said, "I didn't get this band to diet the rest of my life!" Dan, you will be able to eat, just less and better choices! I am a new person today! I love the Band! Love it! It saved my life! I'll try to post tonight or tomorrow with dates that I can meet you all!
  3. Thanks Snowgator! I appreciate the information. A friend of mine consulted with Dr Metz this week and found out that he was very nice. She said he wasn't punitive about her weight loss, (she is 4 yrs post banding and has lost 3/4 of her weight) he was encouraging and supportive. He said all of the ER docs at Parker are trained to do urgent unfills if a problem arises. I don't know how much the consult was. Your doctor sounds great! I need to get in for a consult ASAP, just in case something happens. Dr. Weaver sounds good too! I think we have several great options.
  4. Thanks for this information! How does he does his fills? And what is his consult fee? do you know? Also Missy! We missed you at the party!
  5. I personally don't think $125 is a lot for a consult. I've seen where Dr's charge $1000.00 if they didn't place your band because they need all kinds of tests to see where the placement is. For me, my main concern is how they do their fills. Some do them by, "patient driven" and others do them by "barium swallow" each and every time! So it's the doctor or midlevel provider who decides how much goes in the band. I do not like that! My other friend's doctor does all of her fills that way and she has already had 3 unfills since February! He wants his patients to lose really fast so that his stats appear better! I think he's just asking for trouble! I have never had even the slightest unfill or problem with my band and now I am almost 4 years out and almost to my final goal, I do not want to start now!
  6. Dr Weaver also works out of Rose. Dr. Metz also agreed to see Dr. K's patients. A friend of mine is going to have a consult this week. He's with Parker. I plan to ask my insurance if there is a complication if they will pay for it. United Healthcare Centura now pays for the LapBand. They didn't when I got mine.
  7. thanks for letting us know Snowgator! I'm not sure if I'll be there either. I may end up going out of town that weekend too.
  8. I'll be there on the 11th! Anyone else?
  9. I'm in! My schedule is different each week. If we plan ahead of time, I can work around it. I have a wedding on the 15th of October and an assigned weekend that month, but we can figure it out. Just let me know what I can do!
  10. Well, we know Tom works for another doctor full time. He was only working for Dr K on Thursdays. I was wondering if there would be an open house also. I'd love if we could have a get together with his LapBand patients. I wouldn't be able to do all the planning and expense, but if others were willing to help, I would be willing to be part of a team to put something together. It wouldn't have to be too elaborate. A reception or something casual, so that we could let him know how much we all appreciated him.
  11. Yup, we have all been very lucky! do you know if he does fills the way that Tom and Dr. K do them? My friend has a doctor who always does them with ultrasound and then has her drink the barium - he fills the band the way he wants it filled. She has a 10ml band - got it Feb - and has 7mls in it already and has lost 30% of her excess weight. Last fill, she had to have an unfill because she was too tight and throwing up with every meal. I've heard good things about Dr. Metz, BUT I am sure he's not Dr K or Tom, so they will be truly missed!
  12. Oh my Goodness! That's big news! What is going to happen to his patients? Is there someone set up to see us for fills and issues? I know it's such a good thing for him, but a bad thing for us! Selfish of me, huh? But it's also bad for all of those still out there who need a LapBand! I've been telling anyone and everyone about him! I'm sad!
  13. It's an addiction and something that is very difficult to live with - Julie don't blame yourself, ever!!! Unlike any other addiction, we must learn to live within boundaries and use behavior modification. IT's the most difficult addiction! I do not think you could have done anything proactively to avoid this!
  14. Julie! I'm sorry to hear about your gain! That's so frustrating! I've been seriously considering the Sleeve. I fear that I may lose my band at one time in the future, either near or far and fear that I haven't learned enough and my addiction to food will return and I will gain! It's an intense fear, I have. I am very sorry! I'm glad, however, to hear that you had your knee replaced! I hope your pain leaves and your new knee is better than ever! September 11 - works for me! I'd love a get together!
  15. Got it! I do frequent the Goodwill, ARC and other stores! I will let you know if I see one!
  16. I can't figure out how to post it. I've tried several months when we've had gathering before, but since they changed the site, I can't do it. Anyone know how to post a photo here? Did you pocket dial me today around 1630?
  17. I'll be out of town too until the 1st, but am planning to be there. I'll try to remind you on the 1st! Have a safe trip! see you soon!
