  1. I'm in Atco. If we can find enough South Jersey people we could start a group.
  2. That all looks so delicious. I so look forward to the day I can eat ethnic foods again.
  3. This liquid diet is no joke...it is hard. I've got a lot of willpower though and I know I can do it. It is just hard. I'm also weening off of caffeine for the next 2 weeks...now that's no joke!
  4. Hello All, My surgery date is Nov 10th. Started my pre-op liquid diet today...so far so good, early in the game so I'm not sure how I'll feel later when the family is having dinner and I am not. How do you all cope with that? When the rest of the family is eating and your not?
  5. Started my liquid diet today...it is about lunchtime and I can already feel the need to chew. But I know in my head it is all a trick and I am fine and I can do this. Best of luck to all you November sleevers!
  6. I feel the same way Elode. I did so much research in the beginning, but now I feel like I learned nothing and I am totally unprepared. I do however have several lists going...my "before" list my "after" list...my pre op diet lists, my post op diet list...a few puree food recipes I found around here. I'm very nervous but extremely excited at the same time. Yay for us.
  7. What is the name of that app? I'd like to have a countdown on my phone as well.
  8. Good questions! I don't think you can ever ask too many questions, I'm 20 days until my surgery and my head keeps coming up with all sorts of questions.
  9. Atco, New Jersey here. My surgical team actually has a support group that meets the 3rd Monday of each month.
  10. Your list looks really good. Have you thought about adding sugar free popsicles or jello?
  11. Going shopping today for my Protein shakes and all my sugar free Popsicles and Jello for the pre op diet. Nervous about it and prepping my brain for the task at hand! Good luck gang.
  12. November 10th here as well! Good luck everyone.
  13. I'm not ashamed of my decision either. I currently do not work, so that isn't a big deal, family, only a close number of people know. I'm thinking after the surgery I will feel ready to discuss my process. On my terms and when I am ready. Thanksgiving will be interesting this year...no big plate for me! Good luck on your journey.
  14. I will be on my liquid diet for 2 weeks starting Oct 28th. The night before that I plan on having a favorite meal. I wouldn't do it the night before surgery though. Doesn't sound like a good idea.
  15. My surgery date is 11/10 also! I just found out yesterday at my last pre-op appointment. I'm so excited and nervous...but more excited to begin this journey. I start my liquid diet on 10/28, it is roughly a 2 week diet. All high Protein drinks, sugar free Popsicles, sugar free Jello...an occasional salad with light vinaigrette...those sorts of things. I'm on facebook if you'd like to connect there! Let me know.
  16. I am also the the 10th of November! When do you start your liquid diet? Mine is Oct 28th.
  17. My surgery is scheduled for Monday, November 10th. I am so very excited...and nervous of course. I start my liquid diet on Oct 28th, that will be a challenge, for sure.

  19. Hello. I have been to my seminar (requirement) and called my insurance to fill out necessary paper work for initial appointment with my surgeon in July. I have Amerigroup/Medicaid of NJ, anyone else? If so, how did your process go? Quickly? Did you have to lose weight prior to surgery with diet and excersize? Thanks.
  20. Call member services on the back of your card, that's what I did and they gave me a list of available DRs in NJ.
  21. Did your Amerigroup/medicaid make you lose weight prior to the surgery?
  22. I'm pre-op but I am a pescatarian (no pork or beef) and I was worried about my Protein in take. But, after my 1st seminar I learned that I have to eat a lot of protein. So I'll be looking for recipes!
  23. I think I'd cry like a baby if my surgeon tells me I can't have coffee anymore!
