I just went through my 6 month supervised diet plan, required by insurance (surgery is 10/13). October felt so far away when I began my journey in March! I still call it a six month game with my insurance company haha. When I finally said out loud that I wanted a sleeve, I wanted it THEN. It was the longest six months, and yet the shortest too! Keep your chin up and your 3 months will be over before you know it!
  4. Yay for you!!!!! Getting my surgery date was the biggest excitement. Now as the big day (Oct 13) gets closer, I get more and more nervous! I'm hopefully only going to be off work a week. My surgeon's office recommends between 2-4. I'm also an accountant, so I don't move around a whole lot and don't have to lift anything heavy.
  5. Good luck! I'm 26 and from Michigan. I'm getting sleeved on October 13! I have two shih tzus too! Let us know how your surgery goes!
  6. Congratulations!!!! Only a few weeks left =)
  7. Good luck with your two week liquid diet! And good luck with your surgery =)
  8. Yay for you!!! That's why I picked a Monday too; so I wouldn't be gone from work for over a week (hopefully). I actually told my co workers because I eat lunch with them everyday. I haven't hit the food funeral stage yet. My last weigh in for insurance is Friday, so I'm being careful! Hopefully I won't have any after that either. I only have to do a one day liquid diet before.
  9. Yay, another October 13! Good luck!
  10. I gave up caffeine a few months ago in preparation for my sleeve. I'm a Coke "junkie". I used to drink nearly two liters a day! I had tried giving up caffeine slowly over a months time. When that month was up, I went back to my old ways, very quickly! Before I knew it, I was back to drinking nearly two liters a day. The second time I gave up pop, I quit cold turkey. I took excedrin the first few days, ibprofen for a few days after that, and then I was all set! I also drank a lot of water. I had a headache for the first day, but didn't have any after that. Good luck!
  11. This is so amazing! It's crazy how dropping 30 pounds effects your body. Keep up the great work and I hope your levels keep rising!
  12. I know exactly what you are going through! My mom had a sleeve in December of 2012. I got on board after having a baby in November-my surgery is scheduled for October 13! I'm surprised at how much better she moves then me.
  13. My BMI is about 43. That is a long way to travel! I think it's smart to stay in San Diego for a few days. I'm sorry to here about your unsuccessful pregnancies. It took us months and several rounds of clomid to get pregnant, and I remember how devastated I was every time (pretty much everyday) I had a negative test. I hope that the sleeve is a miracle for you in that aspect.
  14. I am not required to do a preop diet-just can't eat 12 hours beforehand! Have you started yours yet? How long will you be in Mexico?
  15. Proudgrammy, you really are as cute as a button and the sweetest thing ever.
  16. Mine is also October 13! I'm only planning on taking a week off. I'm an accountant though, so I don't do too much physically =)
  17. I'm having my surgery in Ohio, but my date is October 13! You are the only other person I have seen with that date =)
  18. How did the rest of your pregnancy go? I'm curious what your answers to your own questions are =)
  19. I'm having my surgery by Dr. White in October. How are you doing now further out? About how much can you eat?
  20. I'm having my surgery with Dr White too. How are you doing a few months out?
  21. I'm having my surgery with Dr White too. How are you doing a few months out?
  22. I actually have too. Not a whole lot or anything, but it was a few pounds.
  23. So, I just realized we can all officially say our surgery is next month! I'm officially nervous but also super excited!
  24. I did! Well, I didn't even have to food journal. I just had to go see the dietician every month for 6 months. My surgeon only requires a two week liquid diet before for those with a BMI over 48.
  25. You can do it! You will be fine. I read your blog, and I can tell your a smart, strong woman. You can get through this =)
