SEPTEMBER 2014 POST-OP SLEEVERS CHECKING IN!
I haven't noticed any changes yet. But oddly enough, my cycle started on its own the day before I had surgery. My surgery was on the 17th.

Wanted: September Sleevers!
4 days post op and I'm feeling a lot better. Hang in there, everyone! It's gets better!

Caffeine withdrawal
Thanks for the input. I'm four days post op now, and I had my last bit of caffeine the day before my surgery. My post op surgery pain was pretty intense, but I don't particularly remember any caffeine headaches. Hopefully, I can use this time to kick the habit for good! Best wishes to all of you!

September Sleevers!
I had my surgery yesterday at 11am. The surgery went well. My pain level yesterday was pretty bad. I'm hoping for a much better day today. I leave in a little bit for my swallow test. If all goes well I can go home this evening, but I will probably stay one more night. Good luck to all of you on your surgery journey!

Denied- Should I be calling my Insurance Co?
Don't give up! I was denied twice by BCBS, before finally getting approved. The first denial BCBS claimed that one month in my 3 year history the my bmi dropped below 35 and I didn't have the comorbidities they required. The second denial was due to a height issue. The surgeon's office listed my height at 5'1, my doctor office had it a 5'0 which changed my bmi. At this point I decided to leave that surgeon's office which I hated to do because I liked the surgeon, but his coordinator was absolutely awful. I think switching to a more competent bariatric coordinator worked in my case. She submitted my file online and I had my approval in a matter of minutes. I'll be praying this works out in your favor.

Stories!
My surgery is scheduled for September 17th, and I've only told my mom and my husband. I told my boss I was having an esophageal hernia repaired, but none of my other coworkers know. I have my pre-op appointment and pre-admission testing on the 28th and it feels like time is moving so slowly. I'm really excited and a little nervous at the same time! Good luck to everyone and Congrats on your approvals!

Wanted: September Sleevers!
My surgery is on 9/17/14 too! My doc hasn't put me on a liquid either. I have pre-op and pre-admission testing on 8/28. So far my doctor's nurse has only said nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before surgery. I'm wondering if I'll receive more instructions on the 28th. I'm so excited! It seems like September is taking forever to get here!

Question for post-op sleevers:
My schedule is scheduled for a Wednesday. I'm a middle school teacher so I don't really do any lifting or strenuous physical activity at work. Based on your experience: How much time do you suggest taking off to recover?
